Nemesis #8 - Second Chance Vote Open Now!

Hello!

Get ready. We also like our surprise attacks, commanders. In today’s DevBlog, we have opened a brand-new Nemesis vote, specifically the Nemesis #8 - Second Chance!

Who, what, where? Keep reading for all the juicy details and the vote link further below.
A new Nemesis vote
First up: what’s happening? Ever since Steel Division 2, our World War II game in which we introduced the Nemesis concept, we have held a “runners-up” vote for those battlegroups that fell by the wayside in previous voting.

After three Nemesis rounds, we would have three pairs of divisions set to appear in the game. That means that six pairs would not have made the cut. The run-off vote would allow the community to save one of the previous pairs.

In WARNO, we will not do it in the same way. This time, we’ll open the vote to all individual divisions, regardless of their previous pairing. You will be able to vote on a single division - one for NATO, one for Warsaw Pact - you liked best among the divisions that didn’t make it.

In total, we will have 9 divisions for you to choose from. Some options have been selected to appear in WARNO through other means, ‌being WARNO - LANDJUT.

The lucky winner for each alliance might be a different pair than the one we originally proposed. Why did we create this new approach for today’s Nemesis #8 - Second Chance vote?

We wanted to decouple each pairing and eliminate the complaints that a particular battlegroup didn’t win because of its “lesser” pairing. With this new way, you’ll get to choose, within each alliance, one division which should be in the game as Nemesis #8 - Second Chance. This means more flexibility and freedom of choice!

Now, let’s show you the whole roster of all divisions, both NATO and Warsaw Pact, you can vote for in Nemesis #8.
The Nemesis #8 - Divisions
The vote is made up of two parts: one division for NATO, one for the Warsaw Pact.
NATO
The West German12. Panzerdivision (with substantial American support). Shown first in Nemesis #2.1 - Hof Corridor, this CENTAG battlegroup acts as the Bundeswehr’s missing link between a mechanized infantry and an armored division. Read more about this offering here.

The British Support Command. Part of Nemesis #2.2 - Second Wave, this battlegroup encompasses all British second-echelon units not under the I (BR) Corps in NORTHAG. Refresh your memory of this battlegroup here.

The Dutch Beveiligende Strijdmacht (with American and West German support). Located in NORTHAG, this division close to the forward battle zone was presented in Nemesis #4.1 - Covering Force Area. Read more about this proposal here.

The French 27e Division d'infanterie Alpine (plus some Spanish support). These mountaineer forces were presented in Nemesis #6.1 - The Mountaineers. Check out all the details in this DevBlog here.

The West German VfgTrpKdo 42. Wonderfully named, this new training formation would feature the new Instructor-class of units, as presented in Nemesis #6.3 - School’s Out!. Catch up on the details in this deep-dive here.
Warsaw Pact
The Soviet PTRez (with some East German forces). This anti-tank reserve force was put forward in Nemesis #2.1 - The Hof Corridor. Check out the details here.

The Soviet 34-ya Tankovaya Diviziya. Presented in Nemesis #2.3 - Second Wave, this second-echelon T-62 armored mobilization division can be checked out in detail here.

The Polish 5 Podhalańska Brygada WOWew (with Soviet support). This communist mountaineer reserve formation was put forward in Nemesis #6.1 - The Mountaineers. Update yourself with the proposal here.

The Soviet 71-ya Tankovaya Diviziya. As seen in Nemesis #6.3 - School’s Out!, this second-echelon armored formation also features units with the new Instructors trait. Check out what we put forward here.
The Nemesis #8 Vote is Now Open!
Now to the vote itself. You can vote multiple times, but only your LAST vote will be taken into account! As mentioned before, you can chose one NATO division and one Warsaw Pact division, regardless of pairing. Be respectful of the vote, the Eugen development team, and your fellow players. As always: no cheating, bullying, spamming, or insults will be tolerated!

Vote now

Voting will close on Wednesday, March 11th at 12:00 (CEST) / 11:00 AM (BST) / 6 AM (EDT). We will publish the results on Thursday, the 12th of March.

As is tradition, WARNO’s community (meaning you) has and will be putting a lot of effort into swaying the vote toward one of the three options above. Be sure to check them out - but do so at your own peril. Nemesis #8 propaganda battles will be as ferocious and wily as ever before, and continue until the very last day of the vote!
LANDJUT in brief
In case you missed it: next to this Nemesis vote, we are also working on a new major expansion for WARNO: WARNO - LANDJUT. This expansion will bring 8 new Divisions to WARNO, playable in Skirmish and Multiplayer, with one brand-new nation, Denmark. This means a host of new weapons, units, vehicles, and battlegroups in a Tribute-style DLC, but no new Operations or Army General campaigns.
