Improvements and fixes update

Hey Astro Colonists!
It's time for the next small fixes and improvements update.



Please check the list below to find out what is new:

[h2]IMPROVEMENETS & FIXES[/h2]
  • Fixed the issue with invalid voxel volume calculation
  • Fixed issue where another cosmic event would start and interrupt others, causing that blackout effect that would never go away
  • Fixed issue that meteor rain projectile would go through some devices and blocks
  • Slightly improved syncing for multiplayer
  • New system for auto-syncing inventories of all players, in case there is a small data-mismatch
  • Improved water/gas/electricity numbers for client, so they are always accurate
  • Grappling spamming button is no longer possible
  • Savegames names are no longer CAPITAL only, showing the exact savegame name
  • Selection box, voxel box max size changed to 200x200x200

Improvements update + Steam Automation Fest

Hey Astro Colonists!

The build with more improvements is here! It is adding GAME MODES to the multiplayer and polishing the game even further with more QOL, fixes, and new graphics.

[h2]MULTIPLAYER GAME MODES[/h2]
[h3]Player HOST[/h3]
It is finally possible to select the desired gameplay mode when hosting the game.


Every player that joins the lobby can see "mode" on the right side!

[h3]Dedicated Server[/h3]
It is possible to configure a server to start any gameplay mode by enabling two flags in the ServerSettings.ini:
  • FreeConstruction=True
  • Sandbox=True

[h3]Loading savegame[/h3]

From now on every savegame contains its gameplay mode. When selected to host a savegame, it will automatically continue the playthrough with compatible mode.

[h2]STEAM AUTOMATION FEST[/h2]

The game is currently participating in the big festival on STEAM.

[h2]FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS[/h2]
  • multiplayer is now supporting MODES (construction, sandbox). You can select it in the multiplayer menu or start dedicated servers with params: FreeConstruction=True, Sandbox=True
  • menus got more improvements and final touches; buttons, dropdowns, tiles, and slots got a new look.
  • spacecraft no longer is showing thrusters when not possessed by player
  • scanned markers for quartz/stone/ice is now saved
  • fixed asteroid catcher consuming electricity when idle
  • fixed glitch with negative resource vein number
  • fixed gas 3d visuals to not overlap
  • logic signals have a new icon that is not similar to Wifi wireless signal
  • fixed oxygen barrier floor glitch
  • fixed vehicles marker position when moving station

Fixes and changes + Summer Sale

[p]Hello Colonists!
The game just got another update with improvements and fixes:

[h2]SWAP GATES FOR MORE DEVICES[/h2]
Swap gates option is now part of more devices. The button is more generic and part of the TOP menu.



It seems that many players find swapping gates useful. It is also neccesary to make some devices complete, like changing direction of conveyor join, otherwise pushing into pipes wouldn't be possible.

In addition previously supported devices: storage, base warehouse, conveyor joint, oxygen generator, swapping gates support other devices such as:
  • smelters
  • constructors
  • manufacturers
  • hydro generators
  • circular saw
  • barns


[h2]IMPROVEMENTS & FIXES[/h2]
  • swap gates is now part of the top window, it allows to swap gates for many other devices
  • resource request is now finding the closest drones, prioritizing distance
  • player is now notified when sensor, decider try to connect devices from 2 different stations
  • fixed multiplayer issue that player couldn't trigger harpoon connector attraction
  • fixed issue that the closing button of the pop selection menu couldn't be pressed
  • fixed issue that transport bots would get bigger when rotatiing pariking
  • gas rig animation is fixed for switched off machine
  • fixed UI issue that slider would take focus and not allow for button presses like E
  • selection function block is showing size starting with 1
  • voxel function block is showing size starting with 1
  • water sensor can no longer get out of sync when a new water network is assigned
  • gas sensor can no longer get out of sync when a new gas network is assigned
  • electricity sensor can no longer get out of sync when a new electricity network is assigned
  • when removing the elevator, all active floors are removed, fixing the problem with floor glitch

CURVED CONVEYOR BELTS, WATER SENSOR!

[p]Hey Colonists!

The game just received another big update with an improved look of some 3D models like conveyor belts, new generation systems, and gameplay mechanics such as water sensors.[/p][p]In addition, I've been able to iron out some recently reported issues!
[/p][h2]CURVED CONVEYOR BELTS[/h2][p][/p][p]New, improved conveyor belts are finally part of the game.[/p][p]It wasn't straightforward, since the entire interpolation system for resources had to be rewritten. All resources are now following the rotation of each curve or a slope.

[/p][p]Many rotation corrections had to be made to match resources pushed out from containers or transferred to another station via docking station.
[/p][h2]LOGIC SIGNALS WITH UTILITIES[/h2][p][/p][p]It is now possible to detect water level in a water tank, electricity efficiency in the network, or gas level in gas containers.
[/p][p][/p][p]Utility signals are sensed automatically when selecting a device. The system recognizes the type of device and creates a signal for water/electricity/gas. That signal can be suppressed by custom resource pick.
[/p][h2]FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS[/h2][p]Thanks to you guys, I've been able to reproduce and fix many existing issues.[/p]
  • [p]It is now possible to set the 300 FPS setting[/p]
  • [p]Many devices are now allowing to navigate flying bots through them[/p]
  • [p]The terrain is no more blocking selection, so it's way simpler to select objects on the surface[/p]
  • [p]Box Voxel Tool no longer allows removing large volumes of voxels, it is possible only in BP[/p]
  • [p]It is now possible to migrate AIs that are busy[/p]
  • [p]Transport bots are now showing delivery status[/p]
  • [p]Migration is now preventing from having incorrect states or AIs stuck[/p]
  • [p]All astronauts are having new hairs groom config, should prevent crash and increase performance[/p]
  • [p]Fixed transport bot problem that would try to get into removed device to pick required resource[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue where removed devices on the planet could leave utility symbols (electricity, water)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue where loaded devices (mine, farm) would not consume electricity[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue with incorrect orientation of Box Selection Tool[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue that invalid path bot would not use newly created valid path[/p]
  • [p]Fixed multiplayer issue that vehicle cost would be different on a dedicated server[/p]

UI Overhaul is OUT

Hey Astro Colonists!

The new big update about the UI Overhaul is OUT!
There are many improvements and fixes coming together.
For example electricity was reworked for all machines to be consumed only when they are active.

[h2]New game systems[/h2]
There are new game systems working differently now.
  • Hand Crafting - only crafting one recipe at once
  • Electricity - is only consumed when machine is active
  • Astronauts arrival - calling shuttle always takes 2 minutes
  • New tools swapping
  • Thruster with stopping button

For example, laboratory is not consuming 5 MW since the recipe is not started, waiting for 8 oxygen tanks. The same would be if there were no astronauts inside!

With the new simplified windows look, the game interface readability has improved. Semi-transparent windows with blur give it sci-fi vibes.

[h2]New player stats[/h2]

The player panel is now more readable, with icons and an oxygen bar clearly showing how much oxygen is left.
When there is no more oxygen, healthbar becomes red, indicating losing hit points.



[h2]New sleek UI[/h2]

Every simple interaction menu feels fresh and tidy with new transparent slots.

[h2]New Interactions[/h2]

Interaction menus are now presenting data in very elegant form. It's way more clear which elements are important and interactive. Some widgets got simplified to not overwhelm the player with too much text.

[h2]Interface elements[/h2]

Interface elements got their final touch, with stylized sci-fi graphics. The player hotbar was moved to the middle of the screen, so dragging items into slots is easier.


Many small elements, like tooltips, got their final shape. Again, not using too much text, but using graphics and diagrams.



Please share your feedback about all changes, what you like and what not.
I believe some systems and UI elements can further be improved to match the sci-fi style of the game.
