Armed & Dangerous

A new family of arm manipulation moves stretches your opponents to the limit - including a "Vertebreaker", "Crucifix Drop" (Killswitch), and "Pump Handle Slam"! Unfortunately, each one took so long to animate that there wasn't time for much more in this update.

Elsewhere, new costume possibilities include leg tattoos (that are perfectly placed to be hidden behind boots when you realize you've committed the best years of your career to a struggling brand). New headwear also includes winter hats and variations of existing accessories such as wearing headphones around the neck or shades on your forehead. Also look out for a handful of new props such as toilet tissue, luggage, and rocks/bricks.

I also took this opportunity to fix an oversight where it suddenly became impossible to whip people into the barriers. That and other fixes are listed in more detail here:

Trading Blows

v1.6.5 brings the school game's new headwear to wrestling - including a neck brace! Samoan characters can also now enjoy a wider range of tattoo combinations. Meanwhile, the gameplay under the surface continues to evolve with different ways to "trade blows" organically in a brawl - including the "Samoan Spike" as a dedicated move.

To keep things topical, a new camera option also allows you to drain the colour from the screen to look like CCTV footage! Combined with that particular camera angle, it's so effective that it even appears as a legitimate match type in careers.

All this plus the usual influx of welcome bug fixes and balancing:

v1-6-4

Emergency patch to fix an oversight that caused the camera to crash in empty scenes (i.e. no referee at the start of a match). The "Manual" camera is also now an official setting that ensures it never moves unless you want it to.

This patch also offers early access to a new mechanic I'm working on, where more actions can be performed while seated - such as picking up, dropping, and even crafting!

Front Row Seat

Not only is there a new TV studio where interviews can take place, but improved camera controls give you an even better view! With a simple mouse click in the centre of the screen (or a tap of the D-Pad on a controller), you can now temporarily override the angle. A brand new "Spectator" angle also lets you enjoy the action from a static point, while an improved "Square" angle now squares up to the closest of 4 possible sides for improved playability at ANY location. Combined with the manual controls, this means you can effortlessly switch between a 2K style side view or the classic AKI ramp view.

All this plus the usual intake of bug fixes to keep things stable:

Happy New Year!

To celebrate the game's 4th year, a generous amount of new content has arrived! Big shows now take place in a larger new "Epic Arena", which features a ramp & stage with video screens. What takes place in that arena also now includes a handful of stipulations that have never been seen in a wrestling game before - from ropes & chains to water! Less dramatic changes include forbidding strikes or grapples if you want an unusual challenge. All of these are explained in new promos whenever they occur in career mode.

Modders should also be aware that the launcher has evolved to give you greater control over the growing amount of content. It assumes you have the .NET6 runtime, so you may want to grab that from Microsoft if you're running an older version of Windows.
