Happy Holidays & Here's To Exciting 2023!

Hi friends!

Sam & Kostia here, a tiny 2 person team working our butts of to bring Copycat to life. If you're reading this, you're one of the amazing humans who motivate us to make the best game we can and never give up. We wanted to give you a tiny update on Copycat and share our plans for the coming year :)
Bye, 2022
Standing at 25,000+ wishlists strong, last year was huge for Copycat development. From some rough mechanics and basic level blocking, we went to a fully playable demo with great voice acting, exciting narrative, lovely music and better visuals. The demo now is in active closed testing with our friends & family - it's important we get a couple of rounds of feedback and fix things before we show the game to you. It already brought up many very useful points that we successfully implemented in the game. If testing the demo is something you'd be interested - please stay tuned, we'll be announcing a round of small public testing early next year.

We also finally registered a company! Partially because we hope to be in game dev for a long run, and partially because of some of the funding opportunities we're holding out fingers crossed for, we registered a proprietary limited creative collective "Spoonful of Wonder".
Hi, 2023
What's next for the game? Well, first of all, we'll take a couple of weeks of to spend time with family, cuddle the family cat and actually play some games. The idea of game developers who don't play many games sounds kinda ridiculous, but making a game really takes all your free time, play time included. This holiday season Kostia will spend some time finally giving the masterpiece Horizon Zero Dawn a shot, while Sam is catching them all in the newest game from the Pokemon franchise.

Speaking of free time - if you followed us on socials, you probably know we worked in advertising as our day jobs while developing Copycat in our free time. Well, that won't be the case for much longer - in 2023 we're taking a "leap of faith". We both resigned from our agency jobs and will work on Copycat full time! As much as we'll miss our lovely team in the advertising world, we really want to give this game all we got and going full time game dev is a move we wanted to do for a long time. Super excited!

Hope you have a lovely holiday break and get to enjoy this time with your loved ones. We'll do our best to make these updates frequent and keep you up to date with our progress. Please let us know if you want to learn about anything in particular, we're always here and always exciting to hear from you!

Big smiles,
Sam & Kostia
Spoonful of Wonder
