Still Wakes the Deep News

Oil Strike ‘75 is One Year Old!

As you know, Cadal doesn’t celebrate birthdays, but we do! One year ago today, Sumo Digital Academy released their oil rig management game, Oil Strike ‘75, into the world.

Oil Strike ‘75 became a companion title for Still Wakes the Deep - have you tried it yet? You can do so here*. Set before the events on the Beira D, and was secretly released just before the main game. Learn what it takes to be a rig manager like Davey Rennick as you drill deeper into the North Sea for oil and treasure.

The team over at Sumo Digital Academy released four Dev Diaries of how they brought the simulator to life. You can find part one and two here, and three and four here.

*worker safety from terrifying lovecraftian horrors and oil leaks is not guaranteed.

Still Wakes the Deep’s Awards (so far)

Ever since we launched Still Wakes the Deep nearly one year ago, we have been blown away by the reception it received. From glowing reviews by the media and content creators experiencing the demise of the Beira D alongside their chat, all the way to every single review and comment made by our incredible players, including you reading this right now - it has truly been heartwarming.

What made us even happier were the awards that we were not only nominated for, but won! While there are still some award ceremonies to come in the following months, we wanted to take the time to celebrate the successes Still Wakes the Deep has had over the past year with you. After all, a game is nothing without its players.
