Palworld's new update adds two tiers of goth girl boss, more loot, quality-of-life bumps, and the ability to slam-dunk your pals out of their lunch break

Palworld's had its first big update in the oven for a while now, promising brick numero uno in its endgame structure via a raid boss, Bellanoir. Well, she's here now, and she has not one but two flavours of dunking on your squad...

Palworld's first raid boss has just arrived, alongside lobbing Pals at factories to force them back to work

Fresh off of a slightly unoriginal April Fools gag, Palworld, that thing everyone couldn’t stop talking about before they couldn’t stop talking about Helldivers 2 has just recieved a fresh update. While the big thing is the arrival of the game's first raid boss, the patch'll also let you further embrace your own evil bossdom.

Yes, forget about Bellanoir, the goth girl raid boss who can now be summoned via new altars and even comes with an extreme version that's "incredibly powerful and difficult to defeat", it's time of Pocketpair to find new ways to let you mistreat your pals in a fashion that's finging on biting satire. Hey, the game might suffer from a lack of originality, but at least it's finding ways to innovate in terms of Pal misery.

In the novel-length notes for update v0.2.0.6, which has already been pushed out on Steam and should be coming to Xbox soon, you can read all about the new raids, which will basically see you battle some fresh foes that cant't be captured, but do have a chance of dropping pal eggs when you dispatch them. There are also a bunch of new items that've been added to the game alongside this, including training manuals that can give pals experience points, "Ability Glasses" that'll let you see a pal's stats, and a "Homeward Thundercloud" that can instantly teleport you to your nearest home base.

New Palworld update adds the first Raid Boss Bellanoir and a bunch of items and fixes

Pocketpair have released a new Palworld update, Steam version v0.2.0.6, which introduces the monster-catching survival game's first Raid Boss, a gloating Gothy squid-lady by the name of Bellanoir. She'll be available to conjure by using slabs at new Summoning Altars. Be prepared for a tough fight, especially if you opt for the "extreme" version of the boss. Bellanoir can't be captured, but she does drop a Pal Egg on defeat.

This is a chunky update, with a bunch of new items and tweaks to the building system, Pal falling damage, shop prices, player drops on multiplayer servers, and the user interface - for example, you'll now see how many of a Pal you own when you aim a Palsphere at one. You can also now cancel a Pal's break simply by picking them up and throwing them at the worksite - truly, a scene from Dickens. All the new stuff is in addition to the usual bugfixes, fresh anti-cheating measures and quashing of exploits: no longer will you be able to massively increase your attack power while riding Pals under certain conditions.
