People of Note (PC) Review

When I got to try People of Note back in February, I was generally pretty impressed with what I was seeing. The hands-on demo itself was fairly short, but it gave me a pretty good sense of the concepts this game wanted to capture. Like I said then, when it comes to games published by Annapurna, you can typically expect quality, but Iridium Studios really sold me on its genuine passion for making something really special.

I don’t know if I can say People of Note exceeded my expectations, since they were already pretty optimistic, but it was definitely consistent in confirming my predisposition. It’s a game that takes one core idea and hooks everything on it so completely and so creatively that it’s almost a miracle it didn’t fail. I guess it does pay off to do one thing right, if you’re going to do that one thing REALLY right.

The story of People of Note concerns Cadence, an aspiring pop star whose only dream is to compete in the Noteworthy Song Contest in... Read more

Sorry Girl, the Demo is now offline!

[p][/p][p]Hey everyone!
[/p][p]We’ve been super grateful for everyone who played the People of Note demo and provided us valuable feedback, providing us many iterations and improvements to the final game that will launch next week on April 7! To keep our focus on that final version of the game and any potential post-launch patches, we have taken down the old (now outdated) demo.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Also, today is the final upload in our musical number previews! Smolder, the ever-popular and devilishly charming boy band of Chordia, wants to apologize for any of their actions that may have upset our main characters. Smolder is led by Anthony, voiced by Griffin Burns, who some may know as Childe from Genshin Impact, Muichiro from Demon Slayer, and Akira Fudo from Devilman Crybaby! [/p][p][/p][p]We’re excited for everyone to experience the full game when it launches on PC and consoles on April 7 at 6:00am PT. Go join our Discord server to countdown the date with fellow fans![/p][p]https://discord.com/invite/peopleofnote[/p][p] [/p][p]

Meet the rest of the band!

[p]Hey, everyone! We are less than a month away from launch and that means it’s time to showcase more of our musical numbers! These two will round out Cadence’s core party (band) members in her journey to stardom and saving the world.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Imposter from Synthia was written by Andrew Aversa, a.k.a. Zircon, and sung by Amanda Angeles. This song was especially difficult to write: EDM is not particularly known for lending itself to a musical number, and the emotional content of the song, about an artist struggling with Imposter Syndrome, was of a much more emotional nature than a lot of the other, more bombastic numbers. Still, we think Andrew and Amanda absolutely nailed it, showcasing Synthia's vulnerability while still remaining a club floor banger. [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Spitting Image with Vox was done in collaboration with Vox’s voice actor, Mansa "Wakil" Wakili, a Grammy-nominated recording artist. When we were looking for a voice actor for Vox, we still hadn't yet written this piece…most of the others were written in advance of casting, but here, we were very nervous about fitting in the voice actor's lyricism and style. So imagine our surprise when the best candidate for the role (who applied via a standard casting website) casually dropped that he was a Grammy-nominated music producer?! We set up a deal where he produced Spitting Image, and it ended up being the only song in the game where we contributed very little, lyrically, to the final end product: this one is all Mansa, and it's incredible. [/p][p]
We have one more musical number to show off before launch, so follow our accounts to be the first to see! And check out our Discord server to connect with fellow fans getting hyped for launch on April 7![/p][p]https://discord.com/invite/peopleofnote[/p][p][/p]

People of Note Demo Now Available!

[p][/p][p]Hey, everyone! We’ve got some exciting news: People of Note will be releasing on April 7th, 2026! To celebrate, we’re dropping a full, ninety-minute demo of the game as part of Steam Next Fest, so you can get your hands on the adventure early![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]In addition, we’ve got an incredible new gameplay trailer that shows off some of the more in-depth tactical combat and incredible puzzle-solving you’ll be doing across the world of Note. And, while it’s only the tip of the musically-themed iceberg, but you’ll begin to see some hints of the wider story and conflict of People of Note![/p][p][/p][p]The demo starts you right in the middle of the action, after Cadence has decided to leave Chordia in search of other types of musicians to add to her band. Her adventure has taken her to the Rock and Roll city of Durandis, an unfamiliar, fractured land. But here, there’s immediate conflict, and some smoke in the distance…![/p][p][/p][p]Enjoy combat, progression, puzzles, exploration, puns, and of COURSE, a musical number, all in this brief look! And finally, if you find any bugs or have any suggestions, please let us know in our Discord server! [/p][p]https://discord.com/invite/peopleofnote[/p][p] We’re very close to release, but sometimes even the smallest nudges can make a world of difference. We look forward to hearing your feedback![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
