Lies of P will finally let you play as twink Pinocchio this August

Lies of P, that Bloodborne looking game featuring a version of Pinocchio that looks a whole lot like Timothy Chalamet, officially has a release window.

If you haven't heard of Lies of P, it's essentially a Souls-like that is giving some strong Bloodborne vibes thanks to its gothic setting, where you strut around as what can only be described as twink Pinocchio. What's not to love? And at IGN Fan Fest, developer Neowiz revealed that Lies of P will be out sometime in August of this year, just a short six months away. No specific date was set, but barring any delays, we'll likely hear about that soon enough.

The announcement was paired with a very atmospheric trailer showing off its "cruel, dark Belle Époque world," offering a more steampunk kind of vibe than FromSoftware's own gothic setting. It still looks gross as hell though, and suitably nightmarish, with a touch of that Eldritch horror we all know and love, so if you, like me, are increasingly upset that there's no sequel to Bloodborne, this might be a good replacement.

Check out some Lies of P gameplay running on AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XTX at 8K resolution

A new Lies of P video has been released, showing new content from the game running on AMD's new Radeon RX 7900 XTX at 8K resolution.

Of course, you need an 8K monitor to see the benefits, but it still looks pretty in this video, regardless of the monitor used.

The action souls-like from Neowiz is a spin on the classic tale of Pinocchio, set in a dark world inspired by the Belle Epoque era of Europe. In the game, you will guide Pinocchio on his journey to becoming human while roaming Krat, a collapsed city bereft of prosperity where the residents are mad and filled with bloodlust.

Bloodborne was great, but it didn't have any lightning gorilla robocops. This is a problem the upcoming Lies of P hopes to fix, as revealed in a new gameplay trailer designed to show off how nice it looks on a Radeon RX 7900 XTX. I will likely never own a Radeon RX 7900 XTX, but it's looking increasingly likely that I will buy Lies of P.

It's a Soulslike that plonks you into an alternate Victorian London where people got real good at inventing creepy automata. You play as the big P himself, Pinocchio.

Some new Lies of P gameplay from AMD shows off part of the soulslike game in 8K resolution, with a terrifyingly intense boss fight there to close out the Pinocchio-inspired ARPG. So imagine, if you will, a boss fight that turns Bloodborne's Darkbeast Paarl into some sort of giant, mechanical, ape-like police puppet robot.
