Patch v1.6.3 - New enemy elite types

Hey all! It's time for a small update.

Almost any regular enemy may spawn as an elite, which is a more challenging version of the enemy. So far we've had three elite types: fire, ice and poison elemental. In this patch we've added six new elite types:
  • Acid elemental: Drops acid when hit.
  • Electric elemental: Creates a ball of lightning after taking enough damage.
  • Gold elemental: Slow but strong and drops lots of gold when killed.
  • Imu Mygga cultist: Heals itself if it hasn't been damaged for a moment.
  • Saint Rekoil cultist: Explodes when killed.
  • Aave Sirkka cultist: Respawns nearby dead bodies as ghosts.

In addition to these new elite types, as always, we've fixed miscellaneous small bugs and crashes.

Patch notes v1.6.1 & v1.6.2

A few small changes and fixes.

Change log:

  • You can now choose a trinket for Trinket Printer also when you win the game, not only when you die.
  • You can now take and upload screenshots via Steam.
  • Fixed items falling right through the Scrapper and the Anvil when dropped at low speeds.
  • Fixed a crash when using Helping Hand without a ranged weapon in hand.
  • Fixed a crash that would rarely happen when a ghost was spawned.

1.6.0 - New items, new weapon quick select wheel, collectible cassettes

Hey all! We've got two pieces of news for you. First, the Ants Took My Eyeball original soundtrack is now available also on Steam! Second, the newest update for the game is out with new content as well as many fixes.

[h3]New quick select wheel[/h3]



The first new feature that we'd like to showcase here is the new quick select wheel for switching between your ranged weapons, melee weapons and gadgets. The game has always had a quick select button, but we weren't happy with its design because it wasn't convenient and quick enough to allow you to switch between items mid-combat, which is how it was intended to be used in the first place. We also got a lot of feedback from you players that aligned with our opinion of that design.

The new wheel is used with the same old keys as the previous one (1, 2 and 3 on keyboards and d-pad on gamepads), but it looks and feels totally different. It's now a wheel that shows your first four items of that item type and lets you select between them by aiming towards one of them. The game speed is slowed down while the wheel is visible, but only in singleplayer mode.

[h3]Collectible cassettes[/h3]



To celebrate the release of the soundtrack on Steam, we've added 21 collectible cassettes, each with a unique track from the game. They're hidden around the world in specific places and require a special secret method to get them. Once you've found a cassette, you can play its track at any cassette player, for example the one in Haymo's Hideout.

We've added 10 new items, including the Guitar, which is most powerful if you hit with it on beat in sync with the music of the game. Many of the other new items' effects are also related to staying in sync with the music.

[h3]Tutorial skip option[/h3]



Many of you have asked for the ability to skip the initial tutorial area of the first level. We've added this as a toggleable option that you can unlock for free at Haymo's Hideout.

  • Added 10 new items: Eject Button, Chromium Capo, Fast Guitar Pick, Metronome, Vengeful Harmonica, Unstable Amplifier, Studio Headphones, Jewel Synchronizer, Guitar and Electric Guitar.
  • Ranged weapons now slowly reload automatically while they're in your inventory unwielded.
  • Added tutorial signs for using the quick select wheel to the tutorial area.
  • Buffed Grip Tape.
  • Bloody Key, Soul Key and Trash Key now appear in the logbook after you've found them.
  • Made the "Show outlines around players" look nicer.
  • The Fly Twins now drop the items they took once they die.
  • Fixed potential softlock if you kill the Fly Twins super fast.
  • Fixed Frequent Donor and Pilgrimage achievements not getting unlocked if you don't finish the run in one session.
  • Fixed Glass Barrel's scaling multipliers and description.
  • Fixed Crippled status not working as intended.
  • Fixed not being able to melee attack at all if your attack speed is very high.
  • Fixed visual issues with inventory items staying gray even after their cooldown has ended.
  • Fixed scrollbar not visible in some menus + other layout and visual issues with menus.
  • Fixed the item info above the inventory sometimes showing the wrong item.
  • Fixed some items not appearing in the logbook even after you've found them.
  • Fixed Clock's discount going to negative if you spend enough time.
  • + Other miscellaneous visual, bug and crash fixes.

Patch notes v1.5.1 - Fixes to Steam cloud sync issues

We've gotten a few reports of players losing their save progress. This was due to how the game synchronized Steam cloud saves with local saves, and the issue would occur when you switched between enabling and disabling Steam cloud. We've now changed how the game deals with Steam cloud saves and this issue should not occur anymore.

This change requires no action from you as a player. Just launch the game and play as you normally would. Unless you want to switch between local and cloud, or something goes wrong with your save file, there should be no need for you to manually manage your saves.

Change log:

  • Fixed an issue with the game sometimes overwriting an old save with a new one when switching between Steam cloud enabled and disabled.
  • You now have two parallel active saves: one saved locally on your computer and one on the cloud. When cloud is enabled, it uses the cloud save and when cloud is disabled or unavailable, it uses the local save. The game will never automatically try to convert a save between the two places.
  • You can now view all your save files in the main menu under "Manage saves". There you can set an older save as active or copy a local save to the cloud.

1.5.0 - Fly Twins and new achievements

Hey all. It's time for a small content update!

We've added a new optional miniboss, Fly Twins, somewhere in the world for you to find and fight. We've also added a big batch of new achievements, both easy ones as well as some very challenging ones.

Full change log:

  • Added the new Fly Twins miniboss.
  • Changed the location of Trash Key.
  • Added 29 new achievements.
  • Harmful liquid effects (poison, acid etc.) now don't get applied to you while dashing.
  • Fixed a Soul Shrine softlock when an enemy would for any reason appear outside the arena.
  • Fixed being able to kill some bosses twice which would usually cause either a softlock or a crash.
  • Fixed stuttering caused by the game being auto-saved during gameplay.
  • Fixed Doctor Antstrong sometimes getting stuck laying down and not attacking you.
  • Fixed Ladybug Shrines, Coffee Makers etc. sometimes spawning on top of each other.
  • Fixed Slow-Mo Potion not replenishing between levels.
  • Fixed Soul Shrine sometimes not getting generated into Ant City.
  • Fixed "controller disconnected" text not appearing when playing singleplayer.
  • Fixed many performance issues.
  • Miscellaneous other bug, crash and visual fixes.
