[h3]What is WORLD BOSS?[/h3]
WORLD BOSS is a casual free-to-play first person shooter (“FPS”) with a unique mix of open-ended IO-inspired gameplay and custom build progression in a lightweight and fast-paced multiplayer experience for all ages.

Level up as you defeat other players to unlock a wide range of weapons and abilities. Rise to the top of the leaderboard to become the World Boss and dominate your server… and if you’re good enough, declare ultimate victory and bring the entire server down!

Lose all your lives and you’re back to Level 1.

Combine Weapons, Perks and Equipment in a multitude of ways to suit your playstyle. Grow to insane levels of power!

[h3]What is the goal of WORLD BOSS?[/h3]
The goal is to become the World Boss and Corrupt the entire server. No rounds, no lobbies, no two sessions are the same. Play when you want, how you want, for as long as you want. Create your ultimate build as you battle your way to the top.

[h3]Is it endless?[/h3]
This is where the IO inspiration comes in. The Quickplay experience is delivered as an “endless” session, with the only ending being when a World Boss is able to declare victory and Corrupt the entire playspace. Drop right into a session and play for as long as you like, while other players in your region do the same. Delete your foes, level up, and vie for the crown. It’s up to you to earn the crown and keep it,

Each server will reset at a predetermined frequency to accommodate for maintenance, or if all three Hexes are corrupted.

[h3]What is new in WORLD BOSS 1.0?[/h3]
Our biggest update ever includes:

An all-new Arena with diverse biomes, new gameplay options and enhanced graphical fidelity
ADS for most weapons for enhanced accuracy
New player sprint mechanic
Steam Achievements!
Total Perk overhaul alongside new Perks including Boss Killer, Airborne Aggression and Ratman
Party Join allowing players to join up and fight against up to four of their friends
The ability for dominant World Bosses to plant Corruption Bombs, and begin corrupting areas of the map…
If the World Boss corrupts all three Hexes they will WIN the match and take down the server for everyone!
And post-launch, players can expect a new way to earn Boss Bucks via in-game challenges

[h3]What are the changes to Boss Bucks and the Battle Pass at 1.0 and 1.1?[/h3]
With 1.0 launch, players can now earn Boss Bucks in-game in order to purchase cosmetics. These remain purchasable as well. Players with the Battle Pass are also able to accrue Battle Pass points until July 27 2023 as the 1.1 update will bring it to its official end.

[h3]How do you get XP?[/h3]
Deletions, assists and gathering XP Gems are all ways you can rapidly gain XP and level up. Certain Perks can make this easier. Keep an eye out for drones and generators too!

[h3]Are the perks random?[/h3]
The perks are variable based on a variety of factors. Players have a greater chance of being offered perks that are the same category as perks they've previously picked.

[h3]How do I become World Boss? What do I get? [/h3]
The player at the top of the scoreboard will unlock the title of ‘World Boss,’ obtaining a buff, a crown befitting a champion, and the attention of everyone else on the server. In 1.0, they can also plant Corruption Bombs. If they manage to destroy all three Hexes without dying, they become the Ultimate World Boss and end the match for everyone!

[h3]What do the different colour tracers and auras mean?[/h3]
Players display an aura based on whichever perk type makes up the majority of their build. Depending on your selected perks, you’ll have different coloured muzzle flashes, tracers, impact and player aura. Use this to your advantage.

[h3]How does Party Join work? [/h3]
The action never stops with the long-anticipated ability to play in the same lobby as your Steam Friends. Party Join gives you and three others the ability to jump onto the same free-for-all server and duke it out against each other.

[h3]How does the Corruption Bomb system work?[/h3]
We wanted to give our most talented and experienced players an option to show off their skills and end a WORLD BOSS match in an explosive way. The World Boss can now place Corruption Bombs in certain areas of Hexes that will detonate if not defused by other Gladiators in time. The ability to place Bombs is charged by XP. Once the Bomb is placed, it will heal the nearby World Boss. In order to defuse the Bomb, Gladiators must either defeat the World Boss or defuse the Bomb by standing close to it.

Once the Bomb detonates, that entire Hex will be Corrupted until the World Boss dies. Gladiators who enter will suffer severe damage over time, however, the World Boss can enter at will. If all Hexes are Corrupted, the game will end, giving the World Boss a victory screen and bragging rights forever. Are you up to the challenge?

[h3]How does the Lives System work?[/h3]
Each Level you reach gives you access to more perks, weapons and equipment, but there’s a catch – fewer Lives. Lose all yours and it’s back to Level 1. Map knowledge and keeping an eye to the skies is a surefire way to top up your Lives.

Lives per level:

Level 1 - 4: 7 Lives
Level 5 - 9: 6 Lives
Level 10 - 14: 5 Lives
Level 15 - 19: 4 Lives
Level 20 - 25: 3 Lives

[h3]How does Prestige work? [/h3]
Once a player reaches max level (Level 25) they’re presented with the option to Prestige. If accepted, the next time the player is deleted they’ll be given the opportunity to keep one of the perks they’ve obtained while leveling and to select a new weapon. The player will then respawn as a Level 1 Gladiator, with no other upgrades. Players can Prestige up to three times – allowing them to equip up to three bonus perks!

[h3]Are there bots in WORLD BOSS?[/h3]
WORLD BOSS allows you to jump into a game straight away. To make this happen, any spare places out of the 14 slots for players in an instance will be filled by one of our own bots. When another player queues up, they’ll replace a bot (but won’t keep any of the bot’s loadout!).

These bots will try to delete you just like any other player, and eliminating them will allow you to progress through levels like you would with real people. This allows us to keep that endless feel to the game, meaning players can spend as long as they want in game without feeling obligated to commit to a specific period of time.
