1 week since release! Thank you + what's next!
Hi Researchers!
It's been about 1 week since the launch of Research Story 1.0! A big thank you to everyone who played the game. I'm happy to hear that many of you are enjoying it! 💗

I've been doing some post-release patches and adjustments based on feedback. I've also been reading your comments and watching streams and videos of the game. I'll be taking all these into consideration when moving forward with Research Story!
Short-term plans (v1.1)

Technical upgrade
I've started working on a technical upgrade for the game (upgrading the game engine). This takes time and may not translate into obvious content/features, but should further improve the stability of the game and allow me to introduce certain features such as an option for borderless fullscreen.
✨Improving experience of learning the game
My priority for v1.1 is to improve the experience of the early-game where players are learning the ropes. That includes:
- Making some quests clearer (more step-by-step), such as the creature research quest.
- Having gameplay hints that appear at the daily summary page or loading screen, to remind or prompt players about certain mechanics.
- Improving Heart Event tracking within the game.

I'll also add some of the smaller player-requested features, such as indoor wallpaper/flooring.
Longer-term plans

Ports
As mentioned, I wanted to explore Mac, Linux, and console port possibilities.

Linux port: I've received some advice from the community (Linux-players) regarding a Linux port: since Research Story is already playable on Linux via Proton, porting to Linux may not be the best use of my time. It may result in a poorer experience for Linux players if the port is not done properly and consistently. As such, I'll be shelving this until further notice. For Linux players, if you have trouble launching or playing the game, please reach out and I believe the community and I will be happy to help troubleshoot any issues.

Mac and Switch Port: As for Mac and console ports, I'll share more when I make progress. A Switch port that many players are asking about is firstly dependent on whether I'm able to get access to the platform, and right now I don't have an answer for that.
💬Languages
We'd love to add more languages and are looking into how best we can go about doing so.
✨v1.2 onwards
While there aren't any fixed plans yet, I've heard your requests: even more romanceables, more non-romanceable stories, more post-marriage content, and just additional features and content in general. These are larger changes that I'll consider as the game and community continue to grow.
Community Highlights
Once again, thank you for all the support you've shown the game! Here's a nice condensed video from one of our community members that introduces the research mechanic in the game. It also includes some tips for new players:
Ways to support the game
If you'd like to further support the game, you can:
 • Write a review for the game on Steam.
 • Share about the game with your favourite content creators.
 • Share any bug reports and feedback you have for the game. I read most, if not all comments and they all help me know what players want the most.

Happy researching! 📖✨
