StarRupture - Developer Update: September '25
Hello everyone!
Welcome to our newest Developer Update. This month, we’re reminding you about the new PC Early Access release date on Steam and inviting you to meet the in-game enemies.

In case you missed it, StarRupture will debut in PC Early Access on January 6th, 2026.
We can't wait for you to set foot on the Arcadia-7 planet surface, but we need a little extra time for more polish, more improvements, and more reasons for you to enjoy StarRupture when it launches on Steam early next year.

The alien race you will encounter during your sentence on Arcadia-7 is known as “Vermin”. Long before you were sent to the planet, the expeditions ahead of you managed to analyze them and categorize them as follows:

The most basic vermin life-form. A great waste of bullet rounds. They usually attack in groups and seem to be the easiest to eliminate, but the fact that they’re quick and move in a “swarmy” manner makes them rather burdensome to deal with.

A bigger and more powerful version of the Swarmer. A melee enemy that attacks with its extra sharp spike-shaped arms. When dealing with a Slasher, be sure to spike it with your bullets first rather than get spiked with their arms…

It’s the biggest melee of the Vermin family. It attacks by charging at you with full speed, deals great damage with its slashing attack, and it’s also capable of blasting a ground wave towards you. Its whole body is covered in armor, but it has one (very specific!) weak point! Co-operation will be greatly required to deal with it.

It attacks by exploding. These kamikaze aliens go after the player to explode just in front of you. Their internals contain highly infectious gas that may be lethal for you, but for the vermin, it enrages them and makes them even more aggressive. Therefore, strategic extermination of exploders is highly advised.

A small ranged enemy. When endangered, it protects itself by spitting corrosive acid directly on its targets. Its attack range is rather short, so it’s wise to deal with them from a distance in order to have enough time to dodge their acid spitting.

A bigger version of the Spitter. It shoots acid projectiles from its tail like a cannon. When their projectile hits a target, it bursts into smaller droplets of acid, just like a fragmentation grenade. Beware not to step into its corrosive acid stains, as it can easily burn through your shield.
