The housing update is here! You can jump in and check that out right now, and we are now less than a month away from our major update; everything’s coming up Sammi!

Plus, if you haven't picked Critter Cove up just yet, now is the perfect time to do so, as we’re joining the amazing games at the Cozy & Family Friendly Games Fest to celebrate this update – and also because those guys are awesome, of course, so a big thank you to them for including us!

Our discount in the looming summer sale will be the exact same amount, so if you grab it now you are still getting the best discount, but with the added bonus of having time to get through the current stories before the new update.

[h2]Let Me In, I Just Wanna Judge Your Couch[/h2]

In our newest update, Critter Cove has opened up its doors, and characters will now invite you into their homes. Well, if they like you enough, at least… you’ll need a minimum relationship of four hearts to score an invitation to hang out, allowing you to quietly judge everyone’s taste in furniture.



Each home is uniquely decorated to reflect the personality of its owner, adding a personal touch to the village. We’ll let you ask her why on earth the starting centerpiece in her home is a skeleton, but I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised.

Gifts that you give characters might also show up in their house if they think you’re matching their vibes, which makes things feel a little more permanent and gives you a little more impact over the interiors of Critter Cove. Plus it’s always nice to be appreciated.



This is provided that the character in question does actually appreciate your gifts of course. Not everyone thinks Hot Air Balloon Wallpaper is the height of style (sorry).

[h2]When Friendship Means Full Renovation Rights[/h2]

When you reach six relationship hearts, a character might even ask you to come in and do some more serious redecorating for them, which will give you full control over their space, managed just like your own home.

You can make some small improvements, or you can throw everything out and start from scratch, like an episode of Extreme Home Makeover. That’s the strength of a six heart friendship for you!

All items that critters can use outside they can use indoors as well, including the spring horse – health and safety concerns be damned!



Now that houses are a part of the island, we’ll be adding more quests and of course, more interior decorating options in the future.

[h2]Our HUGE World Update is Launching Mid-June[/h2]

Issue with missing Fancy Wardrobe and Fancy Bed. IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU OR YOU HAVE THESE TWO ITEMS load a save from BEFORE the update ie go to load and pick a save that was NOT created with the update 297 and your items will be available again.

Sorry again this was missed and we apologize for any inconvenience, we have put in checks to make sure this does not happen again. Big shout out to Yolsa on discord for reporting the issue so quickly and helping us solve it fast. Love to all our discord helpers.

This update introduces a new visit and decoration system for towns folk and will grow it over time adding in special quests et. Look forward to feedback from everyone on what additional things they would like to see here now that the core feature is in place.

Town Critters will invite you into their homes sometime after 4 hearts, when they choose to. This will allow you to visit them except during sleep times. They will put out basic decorations based on items they like and items you have given them in the past. They will change the items ever few days.

Town Critters will ask you for help decorating their homes after 6 hearts, when they choose to. This will allow you fully customize their homes from anything in your inventory.

We've finally got a release date for our world update... but first, other awesome news!

[h2]Little Critters Festival[/h2]

Critter Cove is proud to be hanging out with a vastly increased crowd of Critters on Steam this week as part of the Little Critters Festival, hosted by our friends at Microids!

We encourage everyone to check out other awesome games in the festival - we can personally vouch for both Yoku's Island Express, and Banished-But-With-Beavers, Timberborn, but there's a lot to check out.

Feeling a little… locked out? Why does it seem like everyone is either not at home or always sleeping?

In our next update, Critter Cove will open up its doors, and characters will now invite you into their homes. Well, if they like you enough, at least…

Gifts that you give Critters may show up in their homes, and you'll even be able to help critters redecorate.

This update is launching at the very end of May, we may be timing it with another festival, so the exact release day will be announced soon!

[h2]Our HUGE World Update is Launching 24th June[/h2]

Last but not least, our world update now finally has a date - EXCITING!!!!

We’ll be launching June 24th with a major update that includes four new islands along with tons of quests, quality of life updates, brand new features, budlings and more.

We’ll be teasing lots more about this soon. In the meantime, mark the date! This update won't reset your saves, so if you haven't yet exhausted all the quests so far, now is a good time to jump back in ready for launch day.
