Decoration Bug Fix

Fix a rare error that caused a exception when quickly closing decoration right after placing down an object.

Fix issue with Pokee not completing the meet pokee quest on older machines.

A Feature Update For Our Belated Valentine (That’s You!)
New Characters & Customization
Introducing our newest critter family members! Mason the Mothman, Ernie the Duck, Sage the Jackalope, Zeke the Zebra, Jeri the Giraffe and Rosie the Frog.

We’ve also added a new owl head option and new shipwrecked critters (and did some orthodontia for some mammal heads with crooked teeth)!

What other critters would you like us to add in the future? We’re not slowing down, so let us know in the comments or on Discord!
New Decoration System Mode
You can now enter the decoration system by pressing P from the main screen in addition to the usual method. Once in this mode, you will remain in decoration mode until pressing Back/Escape, allowing you to grab any placeable items without having to place or adjust your items one at a time.

Bonus? This mode now includes moving full chests, carts, planters with crops, etc.

That’s right. You will have access to ALL your chests and inventory while in this mode and can continuously place down items without leaving decoration mode.

This might sound small but we think this is a vast improvement to the current cumbersome system and should dramatically improve not just placing new items but adjusting and rearranging old placements.

Extra extra bonus? This new system will also allow us to start working on new features like allowing you to expand and customize your interior space.
New Clothing Options
Looking to upgrade your wardrobe, or even better use new pieces to upgrade the look of your townsfolk?

We have good news! Try out the new ancient Egypt line, try your hand at zen gardening in our snappy new kimono, try out our new headgear in the form of two new cowboy hats and a new wrap, or get cozy with the new sleepytime robe or robe and pants combo (and don’t forget the bunny slippers)!
What’s Next?
Currently, we’re working through our new islands – new quests, new activities, new things to find and new things to find out!

Sneak peak? Ok, but just a tiny bit… our next feature islands are called Port Bella and Lonely Pools, but there are of course their surrounding smaller islands to explore as well (and don’t forget the underwater areas).

Excited? Believe us, we are too!

We can’t wait to get you out there sailing around exploring, salvaging and rescuing stranded critters. To the old guard, who have been with us since the beginning (dare we say even BEFORE the before-times), thank you for staying with us.
A Thank you!
To the new players, who are every bit as enthusiastic in their support, thank you for starting this journey and becoming part of our community. We are at a loss to fully express how grateful we are and how much fun this has been because of all of you!

We hope you had a great Love Day! Critters will get heart balloons if you have the balloon cart and it’s stocked with balloons. Unlike real partners, they won't mind you're five days late.

Quick Fix

Fix bug where the toy rides might not release the Critter and cause issues with them appearing to still be on the ride as they wander around.

Quick Fix

Fix issue where player was sometimes jumping after closing UI windows.

Big Patch Fix Build 219. Movement, Lag/Performance and Polish.

Huge redesign of the character controller for jumping and movement to fix the "janky" issues that were reported. Improves control while changing direction after looking around with mouse, smoothed out running while using controller, fixed "floating feel" of the jump. Allow more control so you can change directions while jumping. Thanks to everyone who helped with feedback to improve the overall control feel and get it up to the standards that are needed for Critter Cove, sorry this took so long to get fixed but wanted to do it right and not just hack something in.

Big improvements in performance, especially lag spikes, especially later in the game when you have lots of characters and tourists running around doing stuff. The overall impact here is that frame rate should feel more even now ie less spikes and smoother game play.

Better all around path finding with less teleporting (work in progress still one more final pass to do in the next update to stop this completely). Should mostly avoid going inside items like fish tanks or phonebooths as tourists. You could see this happen when a tourists went to a fish tank to photo it and would stand in the middle of the tank.

Path and movements walking/running for the critters cleanup and improvements. Critter avoidance and smoothing has been improved.

Fix random soft lock while trying to sleep.

Fix path finding in furniture store so characters do not walk through walls.

Fixed bug with pirate outfit and full inventory so it does not lose items.

Change animations and showing character in inventory while underwater, will not stand up now et.

Characters while swimming will stay in the swim idle position instead of standing up while doing some animations et. This was the cause of a lot of weird janky visuals while doing actions underwater.

Critters should not be taking off their clothing randomly now but should always have pants on and mostly shirts (some characters are designed to be shirtless occasionally). Happened alot when going from store shop job outfits to normal or after it rains.

Critters should be riding the rides correctly now. Also talking to characters riding rides will not have them standup on them.

Fix for frozen Copperbottom. In some cases Coppperbottom was being set back into his frozen state with no way to unfreeze him (this was unintentional at this time). In a future update it would not be a bug but intended.

Arlo was missing a liked job(s) this has been fixed.

More language fixes for dialog and in game prompts.

Fix Duplicate player characters displayed after showing the treasure map.

If a player has a tool equipped and then tries to interact with an object (in this case dumbells) we fixed some strange animation issues.

Character height was changing after getting on boat or horse ride. This has now been fixed.

Many other minor jank visual fixes and improvements.
