Echoes Update Part 2 - OUT NOW!
[p]Greetings Scientists,
We have a special end-of-year surprise for you!
Today marks the launch of Echoes Part 2, the second instalment in our major free update series.
As stated in previous posts, the focus of the Echoes updates is to introduce greater variety to the existing world of Forever Skies and enhance the sense of exploration based on your feedback.
Since Echoes Part 1 launched in November and is just one month old, Part 2 is the smallest of the three, but it is still loaded with a lot of additions we are excited to include, as many of them come directly from your feedback.
We have also brought back the much-requested timed holiday event, Frozen Wishes, for those who missed it in 2024. For the OG scientists who already played the quest in 2024, do not sulk. There are still new rewards for completing the event again this year, while new players will get all the rewards from 2024 and 2025.
Let's Look at What is New - Echoes Part 2 Trailer
Ok, so first, let us dive into the update trailer to get a quick look at some of the major additions.
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]
Desolate Radio Towers Overhaul
![]()
Just like the Radio Towers in Biome 1 were reworked in Echoes Part 1 using new modules, landmarks, and an entire system that generates these towers to feel different and distinct, we have now done the same for Biome 2 and the Desolate Radio Towers.
While overgrown by nature, the towers now feel more distinct from one another, convey a sense that people once lived here, and show attempts by individuals to survive on their own.
Biome 2 New Landmarks
We have also added six new landmarks that will spawn more sparingly throughout your towers. These are unique locations that tell more of the story of the world. The six new landmarks are:

To add to the discovery of the stories of those who lived on Earth before our final expedition, there are three unique side quests to find and complete in Biome 2. As before, the side quests are discovered organically by exploring the biome and can be followed using your radar and your to-do list.
Quest Rewards - New Decorations and Devices
We have marked the items below with spoiler tags, as these new items are the rewards for each of the three new quests, and many people may want to keep them a surprise. We highly recommend you do NOT read these spoilers, as each reward is unique and themed. But for those of you with no self-control and a Grinch-like attitude who do not enjoy festive surprises, here you go.
Trashbin Device - At last, a way to properly dispose of items that cannot be recycled and are cluttering up your airship. Place the items into the bin, and they will be ecologically vaporized. Finally, we can all stop throwing things overboard in a game where the whole premise is that people damaged the world through pollution…
Moth Incubator - Now, throughout the world, you will find moth eggs and will need a place for them to hatch. Enter the Moth Incubator! There are three new breeds of moths to find and raise. Then it’s up to you to decide whether the life you have brought into this world should go into your Vivarium, where they can fly around and live out their lives as lovely decorations for your airship, or if they will be mercilessly boiled and turned into food.
Pirate Themed Decorations - If you came across the pirate hideout, then of course, you are going to get pirate-themed decorations for completing the quest! Spruce up your airship with a new skin and a Jolly Roger-themed emblem, and maybe strike fear into the hearts of those pesky Scrapwing Hatcheries when they decide to chew up your airship (Note: it won’t help, and they’ll still come feed on your catwalks, but your airship will still look cool.)
Interactive Radar
We saw a lot of feedback on how tracking some Echoes Part 1 content on the radar was at times challenging, so we added two requested quality-of-life features to fix this.
First, you can now access your to-do list straight from the radar, making it easier to understand how the two tools work together. The other major change is that we have added a map legend so you can remind yourself what each marker means.
Frozen Wishes 2025 Event
Back by popular demand, we are bringing back our holiday-themed Frozen Wishes quest. This is a limited-time event that will run until January 12, 2026. During this time, you will see a dash of snow in the air and a new quest from the Reindeer Gang to find and complete.
To find the quest, follow the main storyline until you reach the upper Greenhouse Tower. Once you have completed all the objectives on the Tower and fly away, the quest will trigger. If you are already past this point in your existing save, the quest will appear automatically in your to-do list when loading your save.
Completing it will give you five new holiday-themed airship decor items, and if you missed the event in 2024, this is your chance to get those special items, too.
Existing Saves Are All Good
As before, our Echoes updates do not require you to start a new save. The way Echoes Part 2 is added makes it even easier on existing games, as all the content is mostly concentrated in Biome 2. So for those with advanced progress, just fly back over and start enjoying the new stuff.
War Child Charity DLC Partnership Announced
We are also proud to announce that we have partnered with the UK-based charity, War Child, to create a one-off piece of Steam and PlayStation 5 DLC where all proceeds go to the organization to help them continue their vital work in supporting children across the globe who have been impacted by war.
The item is a cozy holographic globe that depicts a stuffed bear exploring the cosmos in a small spaceship. It can be printed by players in-game to decorate their airship. The item allows players to change the colors of the holograph and can be printed as many times as you like. The DLC can be purchased on Steam and PlayStation for 2.59 GBP / 2.99 EUR / 2.99 USD.
One hundred percent of the Far From Home proceeds from this item go to support War Child, with 90 percent of the sum going to the War Child charity and 10 percent going to War Child Trade Limited. War Child is a UK-registered charity (charity no. 1071659).
