Beta_Flight Branch Hotfix!
Hello Scientists.
We just released a small hotfix for the beta_flight branch - below you will find the things we addressed.

  • Fixed a typo in the Green Heaven jar
  • Fixed a bug with Water Condenser not being usable when you inserted a new membrane without taking out the water
  • Fixed some spots where you could get stuck at High Point Wind Farm
  • Added missing translations to Docking Plank
  • Automatic Extractor filters should now get properly saved
  • Italian localization was turned on (correctly this time) "Ci dispiace per questo"
  • Reverted a change on one of the locations that could cause the airship to get stuck in geometry (we'll reapply the change properly at a later date)
  • PC Benchmark tool should now suggest much more realistic settings.

Thanks and good flying!

Forever Skies Test Branch Now Open | Test Upcoming Patch Content
Hello Scientists.
Some exciting news!
We are opening a special Forever Skies Test Branch that will give players access to the upcoming patch before it is added to the main game.
We have been getting quite a few requests from players about the possibility to test and feedback updates as for many of you, this is the part of Early Access that you enjoy the most – seeing how things change, develop, and having a say in how things shape up.

The test branch is designed to gather feedback, identify potential issues, and make necessary improvements before the official release. So please do consider taking part only if you believe you will have time to test and submit feedback.

(New Docking Plank Device)
Open to All Owners of the Game + Share and Discuss Freely
The Test Branch will work for anyone who owns a copy of Forever Skies. You are also all welcome to share and talk about anything you encounter on the Test Branch freely. No NDAs are required.
No Content is Set in Stone
Any content encountered in the Test Branch is still subject to change after testing.
Existing Saves Won’t be Affected but use an Imported Save To Play the Test Branch
Your existing saves, progress, and any custom settings you’ve set in from the main game won’t be carried over to the Test Branch. Your pc will see this as if you are installing and playing the game for the first time ever. Likewise, by playing on the Test Branch, your main saves should not be affected at all.

This also means any progress on the test branch will not be carried over to the main game once the update is live. The test branch is designed to allow you to explore and test new features without impacting your current progress.

Players can opt to play the test branch starting a fresh save, however, if you want to test new content with your existing progress, airship, etc (and we suggest you do) you will need to make a copy of your main game save and import it into the test branch. Instructions on how to do it can be found below.
How To Access the Test Branch
• Open the Steam application on your PC and locate Forever Skies in your games library
  • Right click - PROPERTIES- BETAS
  • Put in the password: BlimpWorkshop
  • From the dropdown menu select the beta branch tilted: beta_flight
  • Press the blue “Opt into beta_flight…” button
  • In your Games Library click on Forever Skies [beta_flight]
  • Install the Test Branch
How To Create and Load Existing Saves into the Test Branch
Your existing saves for the main game are stored in a different folder compared to your saves on the test branch. If you want to continue and test the game using your existing progress, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Locate your save files on your PC. By default they should be stored in the following file path:
    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved\SaveGames\
  • Select the save file that you want to test your progress on, right-click, copy.
  • Located your Test Branch save file folder. By default they should be stored in the following file path:
    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ProjectZeppelin\Saved_BetaFlight\SaveGames\
  • Paste your copied save file into this location
  • As a precaution make a 2nd copy of your save file and paste it somewhere on your desktop or in a safe folder. This way you can ensure you have a clean, backup save just in case.

After you have done the above, you can start the Forever Skies Test Branch from Steam and your save will be present when you select “CONTINUE”

Next Patch Planned for First Half of July: Fixes, Balance Tweaks and New Content
Hello Scientists
After about a week since our Early Access launch, we’ve been hard at work on our first patch which will bring a collection of fixes, improvements, and also some new content. We have been scouring feedback from our community and have pinpointed some tweaks and content requests that can be added relatively quickly, so instead of holding them for our larger planned content updates, we decided to add them into this upcoming patch.

We don’t want to give away the whole list right now as there is still a chance some things can be added or pushed to a later update if testing proves the need. However, we are excited to highlight one particular addition, especially for all those who have created some absolute beast-sized airships that have become a little more difficult to “park”.
We will be adding a Docking Plank Device:
Now you can safely float your hulking behemoth airship over to the sides of a tower, roll out your metal “red carpet” and walk over with full grace and dignity compared to what some of you are doing now.

Our goal is to have this patch developed, tested, and shipped by mid-July.

You can expect a variety of changes, including balance tweaks, quality-of-life upgrades for tools, additional accessibility options, full controller support, and, of course, a few new devices and items to enhance your airship to name just a few.

See you in the skies.

Forever Skies Future Flight Map
Hello Scientists
First off, we want to thank each and every one of you who picked up Forever Skies and helped make our Early Access launch a success.

We've been reading all your feedback, comments, and compliments and it's amazing to see that we're on the right course in the eyes of so many. This is however only the beginning...

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Below you will find our Future Flight Map.

All of the content and features listed here are planned for in our development cycle and so with 100% certainty will be added to the game. The exact order of when each of these updates will be released will be based on priority and community feedback.

HELP SHAPE FOREVER SKIES

We have also set aside equal time and resources to account for all the features and content we want to add that will be community driven. We knew from the start that much of how Forever Skies shapes out will be based on what our players will ask for and so as always, we ask that you let us know what are your thoughts.

1. Via our Discord (LINK)
2. The Steam Forums (LINK)
3. Using the FEEDBACK button in the pause menu of the actual game.

As a reminder, we are aiming to release larger game and content updates every 3-4 months with smaller updates and patches in between.

So thank you again for being a part of this journey with us. Enjoy the skies and everything to come.
