Railway Empire 2 - Update 1.7

Railway Empire 2 - Update 1.7
[p][/p][p]Tycoons! We have just delivered Railway Empire 2’s Update 1.7 to Steam, Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One consoles (supported through Smart Delivery). This update includes a new manual warehouse operation mode, a new gameplay option to disable “Small breakdowns” and fixes several gameplay and crash issues.   [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink] Please find the full Changelog below.[/p][p][/p]
Additions
• [p]Added an alternate warehouse operation mode. When “Automatic Distribution” is turned off, warehouses can be used as permanent stores (similar to how warehouses functioned in Railway Empire 1) and goods will no longer use them for automatic travel to their destination. Both modes are always available from the warehouse menu and a combination of both modes can be used on the same map. Only one warehouse set to one of the modes can be used per station.[/p]
• [p]Added: Difficulty setting “AI Behavior” in Custom Games. Minor improvements for the AI in custom games can now be enabled.[/p]
• [p]Added a new Difficulty setting “Connection Bonus”. If set to “off”, there will be no connection bonuses offered during gameplay.[/p]
• [p]Added “Pause Auctions” to Options menu. When set to “on” the auction timer will pause when the game is paused AND the player is not the highest bidder in the current auction, so that they have time to react.[/p]
• [p]Added a new Gameplay option to disable “Small breakdowns”. Small breakdowns can occur for engines with a maintenance limit between 90% and 50%. If disabled, engines will never break down when above 50% maintenance limit.[/p]
• [p]Added Graphics Option “Moving Sun”. When enabled the sun always keeps the same angle in relation to the camera to ensure consistent scene lighting.[/p]
• [p]Locked regions are now always visible in track construction.[/p]
• [p]Improved terrain contrast overall to make hills and mountains more visible on high zoom levels.[/p]
• [p]Added new goods icons to task texts next to the spelled-out name of the good, to increase clarity.[/p]
• [p]Goods that are on the way to a foundable rural business are now communicated by a tooltip, accessible via the corresponding interface, similar to the tooltip accessible via the stock and demand overview for existing cities.

[/p]
Bug-Fixes
• [p]Fixed an issue where a specific order of commands allowed the speed in ride-along camera to be higher than 1x game speed.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where people at stations were not always visible when using the ride-along camera.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue related to moving the camera before the automatic camera at the start of a new map is done.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue that caused reduced FPS when changing a selected train to manual loading.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where a wrong button was displayed, suggesting a “set maintenance limit” option being available at buildings unrelated to maintenance.[/p]
• [p]\[Localization] Fixed an issue where “Rice” was not correctly translated in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where map decorations like boulders, ruins, small buildings, etc. would not vanish if the player laid track next to them. Trains now no longer clip through them.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where, when editing rail lines if too many goods were available in a city, they did not fit in the available space anymore, they will now slowly pan back and forth, so that all goods can be seen.[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where rural businesses visible working areas were not adjusting based on business size anymore. Larger businesses now have more attached working areas again (e.g. fields or clay pits).[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where the train breaking sound effects were looped when pausing during playback.

[/p]
Controller only Fixes
• [p]\[Controller only] Fixed a blocker in the first Tutorial when the user accidentally closed the rail line creation menu before building the first rail line.[/p]
• [p]\[Controller only] Removed a prompt to build overhead lines from rail builder when electrification was not active.[/p]
• [p]\[Controller only] Fixed an issue where Contour Lines did not reliably turn off correctly when leaving construction mode.[/p]
• [p]\[Controller only] Fixed an issue where the “Scroll” button legend was missing in some building screens.

[/p]
DLC-specific Changes
• [p]\[All DLCs] Region-specific fitting goods are now impacted by refrigerator cars.[/p]
• [p]\[All DLCs] Regional specific bridges are now applied to all DLC maps accordingly[/p]
• [p]\[High Voltage only] Fixed a very rare issue where extra overhead lines were spawned parallel to the tracks.

Spoiler: Addition of the NEW Alternative Warehouse – Mode

Spoiler: Addition of the NEW Alternative Warehouse – Mode
[p] [/p][p]Tycoons![/p][p]Our next free Update, 1.7, will bring with it one of your biggest requests – an alternative warehouse mode.[/p][p]As we approach the release of the Industrial Wonders DLC, and alongside it Update 1.7, we wanted to give you a sneak peek![/p][p]We’ve heard your feedback about warehouses for a long time, and they have been one of the top topics on our list of player requests since release.

Now we are happy to deliver the adapted warehouse functionality you’ve been asking for—similar to what you may remember from the original Railway Empire.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] [/p]
What is the alternative Warehouse mode?
[p]The newly introduced warehouse setting allows you to choose whether goods are distributed automatically, as was the case in Railway Empire 2 up until now, or a manual mode that allows you to store goods permanently until you decide to distribute them.[/p][p]With this new setting, you can assign up to six goods per warehouse and define individual storage limits between 1 and 99 units for each.[/p][p]You can also enable the new warehouse mode by checking/unchecking the “Automatic Distribution” - box in the warehouse menu.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] [/p]
Switching Modes in Existing Warehouses
• [p]When changing modes in pre-existing warehouses, here’s what happens: If you change the warehouse mode while goods are already selected but not stored, the goods stay selected.[/p]
• [p]If you change the warehouse mode from manual to automatic mode when goods are already stored in the warehouse, a warning will be displayed. Upon confirmation, all goods, except those already with a delivery destination, are deleted.[/p]
• [p]If you change a warehouse from the current system to the new manual mode, nothing will be lost and no wares will be deleted.[/p]
[p][/p]
Good to know:
• [p]City-needs take priority over storing in the the local warehouse.[/p]
• [p]The new mode allows you to plan ahead in several situations that were not possible before. For example, a city does not need a good like Liquor yet, but will at a later point and you can produce more than you currently need. You can send Liquor to the warehouse, stock up on 99 units and as soon as the city needs the good, the city will use it from the warehouse.[/p]
• [p]The new warehouses need to be managed manually more often in the manual workmode, and you need to keep an eye on them to ensure that everything is properly set up.[/p]
• [p]Veterans may find that a mixed version, with some manual and some automatic warehouses, to be the optimal strategy for their railway empire.[/p]
• [p]If you change the warehouse mode back to automatic, please note that already stored goods, without an already set destination will be removed. The game will warn you and will ask for confirmation.[/p]
• [p]After thorough playtesting, our quality assurance department has found that for many players the manual warehouse mode can have a positive impact on their ability to spot problems and errors on their routes more easily. With complex railroad networks, a lot of problems can be found by just checking the relevant warehouses. For example, if your city is not receiving the goods you want and the warehouse delivering the city is empty, you know that the route to the warehouse must be the fault.[/p]
• [p]As usual, 6 products can be selected for each warehouse in the new mode and the stock level can also be determined for each individual good (up to a maximum of 99).[/p]
• [p]If you want to set up multiple warehouses that store the same goods with the manual workmode, you need to be careful and ensure that the route does not deliver the goods back to the previous warehouses. If you forget to do this, you can easily create an endless cycle of sending goods back and forth between your warehouses. [/p]
• [p]The city uses the warehouse to fulfil its city demands and needs, including industry needs for raw materials. Industries can NOT automatically place produced goods (output) into the warehouse within its city.[/p]
• [p]We have added a new paragraph on the help page for warehouses with additional details and explanations.[/p]
• [p]The city can use goods that are tagged as stored for city demands.[/p]
