SpaceBourne 2 – Version 1.0.9 Released

[p]SpaceBourne 2 – Version 1.0.9 [/p][p][/p][p]We believe this update will resolve a large portion of the remaining crashes.[/p][p]At the bottom of this patch note, I will also explain the technical details of what we've been fixing and why these issues occurred.[/p][p]For those interested — stay tuned. :)[/p][p]
Additional Fixes[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where trade ship cargo slots were incorrectly generated, causing ships with only 2–3 slots to show up with 50+ slots and breaking balance.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug preventing players from purchasing the same trade item more than once.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where cargo items were not visible in the trading interface.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a problem where soldiers placed in Castle Sieges were not spawning in the positions selected by the player.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where soldiers placed far from the player would remain inactive until the player approached them.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue in Cave-type dungeons where “Kill the Queen” objectives did not progress even after the queen was defeated.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where the boss would not spawn after clearing the landing pad in planetary Mercenary Guild missions.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue in the “Extended” mission where the tutorial prompt displayed as “None,” blocking progression.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where Bounty Boss ability effects could remain on the player after the battle ended.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a visual issue where quickly switching from first-person to third-person view could cause the character’s head to disappear.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a problem where Mining Stations sometimes did not appear in the build menu.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where warping before the first Raid announcement could cause the announcement to fail and loop continuously.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue that allowed players to enter some stations with the jetpack active and then become unable to disable it inside.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where using fast travel inside Morthra stations could place the player underneath the station.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where adjusting the sound slider did not affect radio volume, causing the radio to continue playing at full volume.[/p]
 • [p]Updated Crowdin community translations with the latest contributions from our players.[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p]

Why Some Players Experience Crashes – A Transparent Update
[p]When designing SpaceBourne 2, I wanted the entire game to run without a single loading screen. I felt that traditional loading screens break the sense of freedom a space game should have, so I removed them completely.[/p][p]However, technically speaking, that decision has a downside:[/p][p]In most games, loading screens are not just waiting periods, [/p][p]They are also the moment when memory and VRAM get cleared, and unused content is safely unloaded. Since SB2 never uses loading screens, the game tries to handle all of this in the background while you play.[/p][p]But with a galaxy this large, dynamic, and procedural, especially at high resolutions, memory and VRAM could eventually fill up over long play sessions.[/p][p]Because of this, over the past week, we have been rebuilding this entire system from scratch, a brand-new, far more efficient, and far more stable core.[/p][p]We're rolling out this new system step by step, because the game is huge and touches many different mechanics. Right now, about 60% of the game is already running on the new architecture, and even at this stage, our internal tests show major improvements in stability and memory usage.[/p][p]Very soon, the entire game will be fully converted.[/p][p]Our goals are simple:[/p][p]More stability [/p][p]Lower memory usage[/p][p]Faster transitions [/p][p]A truly crash-free experience[/p][p]and all of this without bringing back loading screens.[/p][p]Thank you so much for your patience and support. We’re very close. [/p][p][/p]

SpaceBourne 2 – Version 1.0.8 Released

SpaceBourne 2 – Version 1.0.8

With 1.0.8, we continued improving performance, memory usage, and overall stability.
Some of these optimizations need to be rolled out gradually to avoid unexpected side effects, so we’re spreading them across multiple updates — and each step is showing better results.
Fixes
• Drift Mode speed inconsistency fixed
A player noticed two different behaviors in Drift Mode:
– With weapons enabled, Engine Burst caused an unintended extreme speed boost.
– With weapons disabled, the boost was much lower.
This inconsistency is now fixed, and Drift Mode behaves consistently in both states.

• Cargo Raids – timer adjustment
The initial escape window was too short.
The time before the first aggressive action can occur has been increased to 2 minutes.

• Ship UI weapon ordering issues fixed
Rearranging weapons could create ghost weapons or UI errors.
This is now resolved.

• Perk cooldown save/load fix
Saving and loading during perk cooldown could cause incorrect values.
This issue has been fixed.

• Ship prices reduced by ~20%
To improve progression pacing, ship prices have been lowered.

(In the next update, we’re adding a ship reservation system.
Leveling up currently refreshes ship dealer stocks, which can cause the ship you wanted to disappear before you can afford it.
The reservation feature will prevent this by keeping your selected ship in stock.)
New Dungeon Improvements
• Cave-type dungeons reworked
Cave dungeons have been fully restructured:
– Spawn issues resolved
– Properly integrated into the Dungeon Manager system
– Improved stability and reliability across all cave dungeon types
Important Note about Warp Crashes
We suspect that many of the remaining warp-end crashes are related to 4K monitor setups.
While we work on the permanent fix, if you are using a 4K monitor, please try:

➡️ Playing in Fullscreen mode at 1440p or 1080p

This may help reduce or avoid the issue until the full fix is ready.

Thank you for your patience and support.

About Crashes

Unfortunately, we couldn’t fully eliminate crashes for every player yet —
but this update significantly reduces their frequency for most systems and scenarios.
We’re actively tracking the remaining issues, and our goal is to fully resolve them as soon as possible.

Thank you all for your patience, support, and incredible feedback.
