Happy New Year From News Tower HQ!
News Tower HQ wishes all of you a happy new year!
2022 will be an exciting year for us. Since the October Edition of Next Fest 2021, we have been working hard on new features, bug fixes and AI improvement to deliver the Early Access version of ‘News Tower’ to Steam this year. (New) features which we have been working on include:
- Totally revamped the way you report on news offering more depth and gameplay.
- You can now choose a direction of your newspaper and work your way towards targets which apply to this direction to satisfy and reach your readers.
- No more hard requirements on news. You can only do better.
- News items now have categories and a quality mark which play an important role in reaching your audience targets.
- A different and more simple mechanic for ads.
- News can now have ‘risks’ attached to it like lawsuits or injury points for your employees which adds more depth to the choices you make.
- Added an overview screen of all your employees
- Employees now have traits giving them unique characteristics which can be useful in many aspects of the game.
- Added category bonuses: you earn more points by placing similar categories on the same page of your newspaper.
- Enhanced hints for placing buff objects. Preview areas where placing accessories makes sense.
- Skill/Leveling system for employees actually works now.
- Search the globe more efficiently using filters for category or news quality.
- A working kitchen with a cook.
- Shared waiting lines for toilets and coffee machines.
- Employees take elevators based on congestion, not randomly.
Also improved the general AI, have been working on further game performance optimizations and (obviously) lots of little bug fixes.
We’re very excited for what’s to come this year and about all improvements and features. We hope you are as well and are looking forward to sharing the EA release of News Tower with all of you.
