Ergo VR News

Hello, as you all may know, Ergo was supposed to release today, this isn't the case and I again apologise for that, instead of keeping quiet and releasing nothing, I have updated the demo, this uses the VRGK (Virtual Reality Game Kit) as a base and will feel more like most popular Virtual Reality games

I have gotten my pc back, I attempted a drive recovery, the level files were the only things that were recoverable for some reason, I have decided to remake everything using the VRGK as a base, the demo on steam for now will remain up, will be updated once the game is ready

This was nothing else when I wanted to make I have to list the terrible news that the source code has been corrupted there are no backups

I swear I uploaded it to Google drive but nothing the only thing that's backed up is on a solid state drive and it's the level maps all the assets they gone, they were all on the same drive and since this is quite literally a solo person projects I didn't think to put on multiple drives

Like there's some good things and some bad things about it the good news was that the levels are backed up so all that needs to be recreated are the props and logic, the bad news is that the game won't be getting updates at least for the first 3-months at minimum

You may be wondering why not to lay the project to cancelled it out rights well I have some good news when it comes to that I've been uploading every single testable to steam and they're on the default branch luckily is that a state that I would have released it, however on August 23rd I will not be releasing this build however once the game has been recovered/remade I will be releasing it with a 20% discount


Also be setting up a trello page that will be listing the games progress we also have a tiktok account if you'd like to follow that where I believe I should show progress

The tiktok videos will also be uploaded to YouTube

Thing that I guess we'll incredibly help with development is the virtual reality game kit templates beds on the unreal engine marketplace it's really high quality and it was going to be used in my later VR projects, it'll be used for Ergo

You may be wondering why don't I just start working on it now it's sad to say that my PC has been having issues which ended up causing this driver app it would constantly blue screen at I'd lose files all the time I should have known that this could have happens but this is just my luck is enough I'm getting my system repaired possibly Monday so we'll see if I can get back to work the games been developed for quite some time but since I have an actual build of the game still on steam I can just take a bunch of screenshots of the props and just recreate them

TLDR; Source code corrupted, levels backed up, build ready for release, pc needs repairs, 20% discount, TikTok account used to show off progress, updates gonna be slow, Using VRGK in the rewrite, will be more open in future

Hello, I released a demo for our upcoming game Ergo around 7 hours ago, I went to sleep and as of writing it has released, ended up in over 300+ unique user's librarys and is available on steam

Thanks to this demo, a bug involving Vive movement was fixed, thank you d777!;


I'm very new to uploading games onto steam so I apologize for the late announcement, hopefully it's all up and working for everyone else :)
