XEL Patch 1.0.5 is available now!

Dear XEL-Fans,
with the latest patch, we are eliminating a lot of bugs and prevent you from getting stuck in some specific situations. But, be assured that this is not the last patch! We will continue working on the game and improve it. Thanks to your ongoing support, and please report everything you encounter!

Without further ado, let's dive into the list of contents, this patch comes up with this time:

Next XEL Patch has been released!

First, we would once again thank all of you for your ongoing support, passion, and dedication for our game. We surely will continue working on the game, therefore please keep it up!

This patch once again tackles mean bugs and blockers, as well as coming along with some great improvements.

Find all details on all the contents of the second XEL patch below:
  • Various "getting stuck" or "falling through map" fixes.
  • Many Loca Tweaks and Fixes, too many to list here in detail.
  • Audio Settings fixed.
  • Resolution and Quality Settings improved.
  • Removed Freeze Frames on Hit/finishing of enemies.
  • More Key Items correctly displayed in inventory.
  • Minor Map and UI Fixes.
  • Sound Improvements.


Known issues
  • Rubbles ladder: In rare instances, after climbing up the ladder, Reid will slide down again.
    • Tipp: Simply climb up the ladder again, it should work as intended now.
  • (Controller only) In the food inventory, you cannot select any snacks.
    • Tipp: Press L2/R2, change the selection between Gadgets and Food and the cursor will reappear for the intended selection.
  • In random cases, the screen might get blurry
    • Tipp: Simply make some slight changes in your graphics' settings to get back to normal and to get rid of the blurry screen.

Developer Tiny Roar, who are still busy getting through all your valuable feedback and continuously working on XEL, have also created two short tutorial videos, getting you all important details you need to know about Crafting and Cooking in XEL and making the daily routine of Reid on XEL definitely easier!

First XEL Patch released!

Dear community,

We would like to thank you for a great launch of our first major title XEL. We are still thrilled we came this far and made our dream come true.

We keep reading your comments and reviews and appreciate all your feedback. We are currently working on a major update (1.0.4) that will address lots of bugs and requested features (such as a quest marker or remappable controls on gamepads). We don’t have a date yet for the patch, but rest assured we are working tirelessly to push it out as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, we uploaded a first patch today, fixing some of the annoying stuff, such as blockers in certain areas that prevented a few players from progressing.

A full list of the changes, which are live now, can be found below:

  • Fixed Terminal in Glacial Glades (some players were not able to open the door to the Glacial Glades)
  • Fixed several out of bounds / falling through world bugs
  • Fixed Evander re-appearing again after dying
  • Added Chinese, Japanese and Korean character names
  • Updated Chinese and Japanese Localization
  • Additional Video Compression and Codec changes
  • Some Animation tweaks
  • Some UI tweaks
  • Fixed Dialogue bugs where players could walk away from quest-relevant NPCs
  • Fixed Discord- and FAQ-links in main menu not working


You can expect more bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements within the next couple of days and weeks to improve XEL’s experience.

We did identify some smaller issues with this patch that we are also working to fix for the next update:
  • Coming back to the main menu, you might need to click your mouse once to be able to select anything
  • Restarting the game might reset your master audio to 0
  • An active dialogue audio may be played until the end even when the player goes back into main menu
