Patch #1.2.3

Greetings Adventurers,


A new update to address a couple of key issues that players are running into in Dark Carnival as well as overworld Adventures. First being a combat softlock during a town siege or camp mimic fight, and the second being a progression blocker on Floor 26 of the Dark Carnival. We’ve also fixed the issue where killing the Hangman was not removing the Hanged Soul.

[h2]Town Siege & Mimic Fights[/h2]
  • Fixed the softlock that was happening on Town Siege fights during the rain. This softlock could also occur when clearing an enemy camp and the treasure chest was a mimic. Players can load, or continue, directly into existing save games and continue their game.

[h2]Dark Carnival Floor 26[/h2]
  • Fixed the softlock that was happening when a summoned Junior was attacking the party. Players can load, or continue, directly into existing save games and continue their game.

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Killing the Hangman will now successfully remove the Hanged Souls.
  • Fixed a softlock that could happen on overworld dungeons when traveling to a new floor with a merc in the party.
  • Fixed a softlock on Adventure 5 when choosing a locked plan.

Hotfix 1.2.3 rollback due to data loss

Due to reports of Lore and save data being removed, we are rolling back the latest hotfix to avoid any further errors.
Once we've investigated and found the root cause of this issue, we'll work to republish these fixes.

Hello Intrepid Heroes,


Congratulations to all travellers who have made the weekend journey into the Dark Carnival. It’s been a delight to see all of the leaderboard scores, get a ton of feedback, watch streams, and take in all of the revelry.

This patch fixes the issues with the Dark Carnival Adventure Challenges not being awarded correctly, a wheel balance change that we’ve seen off of a lot of community feedback - the Wheel of Death now has a chance to replace a used wedge with a positive wedge—plus a handful of bug fixes.

[h3]Dark Carnival[/h3]
  • The Wheel of Death now has a chance to replace a wedge with a positive wedge.
  • Fixed the Dark Carnival Adventure Challenges that were not unlocking correctly.
  • Corrected encounter loot not scaling to the correct level. For example a level 4 encounter would reward level 1 gear.
  • Certain player weapons can no longer cast Acid on enemies or enemy combat tiles.
  • Fixed an issue where certain bosses wouldn’t play their death dialogue.
  • Fixed an issue where the Ringmaster modifiers were not always displaying correctly after continuing or loading into a saved game.
  • Fixed an issue where killing the Ringmaster could prevent him from playing his death animation.

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Localization fixes across a few non-English languages.
  • Wolves could sometimes summon the incorrect enemy.
  • Fixed an issue where Peek would not close after canceling out of a Town Market.
  • Fixed the animation for the Merling Magician not playing correctly when they cast Heavy Water Bolt.

[h3]Online[/h3]
  • Fixed an online softlock when rapidly pressing join on a controller during join-in-progress.
  • Fixed a UI blocker when pressing back on controller during Party Management.
  • Fixed an online softlock when rapidly pressing the confirmation button while using a controller.

Hotfix #1.2.1

Greetings Adventurers,


Amazing to see everyone enjoying Dark Carnival and Bards! This is a quick hotfix to address a couple of issues that we’ve had reported on the update. Most pressing is players have been able to get into a state where they are no longer able to move after interacting with a Town Market - either buying, trading items, or shift to inspect - across single player and multiplayer games. We also fixed a couple of issues that we were seeing with loading into certain dungeons in save files from the previous game version.

[h2]Bug Fixes [/h2]
  • Fixed the issue where players would no longer be able to move after interacting with Town Markets.
  • Fixed an online softlock during the Dark Carnival Wheel of Fate that could happen when the active player spun the wheel while a non-active player was changing their viewed wedge.
  • Fixed an issue with previous save games causing a softlock when continuing or loading into specific dungeons across overworld adventures.
  • Fixed a softlock caused by the Floating Chest encounter when the “Fight” outcome was rolled by the player.
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to press/click “Continue” on the Adventure Summary if any of the party members didn’t generate any stats.
  • Fixed a softlock that could happen when buying from a market with a controller or keyboard.

Thanks again for everyone’s feedback and input so far. We are love seeing everyone post early leader board scores, chatting on the various elements in the Dark Carnival, and the return of the Bards!
