Pre-alpha Company of Heroes 3 system requirements are a big step up from COH 2

Relic announced Company of Heroes 3 this week, and although it won't release until late 2022, you've got plenty of time to ensure your rig is up to the test. The free pre-alpha build is available until August, and its system requirements published on the Steam page show a big change from the previous game.

While 2013's Company of Heroes 2 requires the bare minimum of 2GB of RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and a GPU equivalent to the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, things have unsurprisingly taken a step up for the sequel.

While it doesn't ask for the best graphics card available, you'll at least need a graphics card equivalent to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. AMD is strangely absent from the requirements, but the alternative from team red would be the Radeon RX 580. You'll need at least 8GB of RAM, and a processor on par with an Intel Core i5 8400, such as the AMD Ryzen 5 2600.

Company of Heroes 3 is real, and set in WW2

Relic has been teasing something on its Twitch page since last night, and everyone's been wondering what the deal is. Is it a new strategy game? Is it another expansion for Company of Heroes 2? As many fans have already speculated, it's Company of Heroes 3.

A new trailer has just surfaced on the Company of Heroes' YouTube channel, which confirms that Company of Heroes 3 is indeed real, and it will be keeping the popular tactical RTS game in WW2. We'll have more to say on this in a short while, but feel free to watch the video for any initial details you can glean. It's a CGI trailer, so it doesn't use in-game footage, but the action takes place in what looks like an Italian coastal town, which scans with the image of Italy that's been on the Twitch channel during the countdown.

The end of the trailer also gives us a brief glimpse at a command tent in what looks like a desert, and a voice on the radio mentions Rommel, who is the iconic nemesis of the allies during the North African campaigns.
