Brand-New Locomotives Are Rolling Into Railroad Corporation 2!

[p]Hey everyone, [/p][p]As we more closer to our 1.0 Release, we’ve been sharing a bunch of things we’ve been working on behind the scenes, and today, we’re excited to show off some exciting new additions to our rolling stock. Here are some of the new locomotives that’ll be making their way into Railroad Corporation 2 very soon! [/p][p][/p]
ALCO HH 600
[p]The ALCO HH 600 is the first diesel locomotive available in Railroad Corporation 2![/p][p]At first glance, it may not impress with raw speed; its maximum velocity is limited to 60 mph. But the HH600 truly shines when it comes to acceleration. It reaches top speed quickly enough that, over short distances, it can outperform locomotives with far higher speed. This makes it a reliable and flexible choice for regional routes and busy industrial areas.[/p][p]Efficiency is another key strength: compared to steam locomotives, the ALCO HH 600 consumes significantly less fuel, keeping operational costs under control and profits high. Maintenance costs are also comparatively low, allowing it to remain a dependable workhorse throughout the early and mid stages of your company’s growth.[/p][p]The ALCO HH 600 is an excellent choice for short-distance cargo transportation, where efficiency and responsiveness matter most.[/p][p][/p]
4-8-8-4 Big Boy
[p][/p][p]Few locomotives command attention quite like the Big Boy.[/p][p][/p][p]With a very fitting name, this steam giant is a true powerhouse, capable of hauling an astonishing 1,560 tons of cargo. It will be the most powerful locomotive in Railroad Corporation 2, at least for now, and it fundamentally changes what is possible on long-haul routes. With a single Big Boy, you can move volumes of freight that would otherwise require an entire fleet of smaller engines.[/p][p]Such power does not come without cost, though. The Big Boy is expensive to purchase, demands enormous quantities of coal, and accelerates slowly. Yet when sheer hauling capacity is the priority, these drawbacks quickly fade into the background. In practice, one Big Boy can comfortably replace three ALCO HH 600 locomotives on the right routes.[/p][p]Together, these locomotives represent two very different approaches to railroad management. Whether you favor efficient regional operations or overwhelming long-distance power, each engine offers new ways to shape your network and refine your strategy.[/p][p][/p][p]As always, thank you for following the journey, and we look forward to showing you what is coming next for Railroad Corporation 2. Keep your eyes peeled for a really exciting announcement next week! [/p][p][/p]
