First of all, we want to extend a big thank you for your understanding and patience regarding the recent delay of Railroad Corporation 2. We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to jump right into the heart of the industrial revolution after all! While delays are never easy, we truly believe it was the right decision to ensure that we can deliver the best possible experience when we launch into Early Access on October 21st, 2024.

As a small consolation while you wait for the release of Railroad Corporation 2, we're excited to announce that we're bringing back the Railroad Corporation 2 Next Fest demo as a part of Steam’s Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Fest! For one week, you'll have the chance to revisit June's demo and get familiarised with the game ahead of launch! It’s the perfect opportunity to get a hands-on preview of the core mechanics and the enhancements that shape the sequel.

In addition to the demo, we’ll be running a sale on Railroad Corporation 1 and its DLC during the festival! So if you’ve missed out on the original or want to see what all the fuss is about before the sequel drops, now is the perfect time to dive in.

Once again, we appreciate your patience as we work hard to refine Railroad Corporation 2 ahead of its Early Access release in October. We’re as excited as you are for the journey ahead and can’t wait for you to finally get to experience everything we’ve been working on.

We wanted to dedicate a log today to update you all about the release date of Railroad Corporation 2. After much consideration, we’ve made the tough decision to delay the launch to October 21st, 2024.

We know how eager you are to dive into the game, and we truly appreciate all the excitement and support we've received. However, after some extensive testing, we've identified a number of bugs and areas that require our immediate attention. To ensure that player experiences are as smooth, fun, and polished as possible before the Early Access release, we feel that we need a bit more time to work through these issues.

We understand that delays can be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for this. That being said, we believe that with the extra time taken, it’ll be worth it in the long run, and we’re excited to share the improved version of the game with you soon.

I am forever looking for a game to replace Transport Tycoon (or OpenTTD) in my affections. I know there are several railway management sims kicking around Steam, but I haven't found the one that does it for me yet. Could it be Railroad Corporation 2? It's a train tycoon game in which you lay tracks through the early 20th century, and it's launching in Early Access on September 9th.

Railroad Corporation 2 is a train tycoon game set at the turn of the 20th century, where you take on the mantle of a railroad magnate to start your new railroad corporation.

At launch, Railroad Corporation 2’s Early Access will offer you the opportunity to build your corporation in four campaign missions. Set in the era of railroad electrification,you can research and deploy more than ten different locomotives! You can influence government policies and local regulations to your advantage by establishing specialized departments like the lobbying department. You’ll also get the chance to test your competitive skills against other aspiring entrepreneurs either coop or versus mode for up to 4 players in online multiplayer mode, or take a more relaxed approach and build your dream corporation in sandbox mode.

We wanted to head into Early Access to work closely with the community and continue to gather your feedback while we continue to polish, refine, and expand the game. Over the course of the year, we’ll be adding new features and content, guided by your input. Keep an eye out for our roadmap, which will be released around launch, detailing all the upcoming updates!

Hello everyone!

We’re back with a brand new developer log. Today we’d like to highlight a new in-game feature: ‘technical progress’. While playing the campaign ‘technical progress’ influences the way commodities are transported and thus directly influences the weight of the carriages.

In different missions, different commodities (carriages) are being changed.

An example of what a ‘technical progress’ notification can look like:



Early locomotives may transport 5-6 carriages at once, but after new standards are applied, their potential will be seized twice. This stimulates players to do research in an office department to keep up the new industry requirements.
