Patch 0.8.11073: Bug fixes and localization improvements

Hey everyone,

As the Early Access phase of Railroad Corporation 2 is slowly chugging along, we’ll be steadily updating you about patches in these short blogs and on our Steam Discussions thread.

We’re thrilled to let you know that today, we’re bringing you some key fixes and improvements, directly addressing some of the areas you’ve highlighted since launch. Thanks to your detailed feedback, we’ve focused on resolving a few pesky issues, and making sure everything runs smoother for everyone.

Here’s a full breakdown of our most recent patch notes:

Fixed an error that could cause a save files stopped loading at 72%;
Fixed an error caused wide screen resolution options missing in settings;
Fixed an error that did not allow create a trading rules in buildings created as a result of a geology discovery;
Fixed an error that caused a city population reset at a certain conditions;
Localization improvements.

Railroad Corporation 2 has been out in Early Access for over a week now and we’re thrilled by the positive reactions from you, our community. Your enthusiasm has us absolutely overjoyed, and we can’t wait to keep working on this game and delivering a great experience for all of you out there!

With Early Access now live, we’ve had lots of feedback and suggestions pouring in here on Steam and over on Discord. We value your input very much indeed and this is exactly what Early Access is all about, so keep it coming! We’re committed to steadily updating the game to help it reach its final form, and your insights are invaluable in guiding us on what to focus on next.

On another note, we are happy to announce that Community Items are now finally available for all players. You can now represent Railroad Corporation 2 with badges, profile backgrounds, emoticons, and trading cards!

What’s New in Railroad Corporation 2?

There are already a bunch of features in the launch version of Railroad Corporation 2, and we plan to offer way more as we move through Early Access. We’ve prepared a roadmap highlighting our plans which is displayed in this separate blog. But for now, let's focus on what’s already in the game.

Building on the foundations of its predecessor, this second edition expands on core features, while also introducing new features for additional strategic depth, including:

Electrification & Expanded Railroad Building: You can now electrify your tracks, allowing electric locomotives to power through your network. Additionally, new tools have been introduced to refine track laying, including parallel snapping, grid-based placement, and the ability to place tracks over other tracks (also known as diamond crossings).
Detailed Locomotive Reports: Get detailed insights into your locomotives, including statistics about their top speed, max pulling mass, monthly upkeep, and other advanced specifications.
Signal Mechanics: Railroad Corporation 2 introduces signal mechanics to control the flow of traffic and ensure locomotives are running smoothly across junctions.
Headquarters & New Departments: You can choose strategic locations for your headquarters and train stations, and unearth new materials to trade with using the Geology department.
Financial & Operational Insights: Gain a clearer view of your financials with the new reporting tool. This feature provides detailed insights into your company’s activities, a snapshot of how your competitors are doing, and essential market information.

What’s available on Early Access Launch?
In addition to the expanded core features and new options, you can explore the game through a variety of game modes, including:

Campaign Story Mode: Embark on your railroad journey with four initial missions, with new missions being added throughout the Early Access period.
Multiplayer Mode: Test your strategic skills in cooperative or versus scenarios for up to 4 players. Team up with a business partner or face off against others, with distinct maps designed to challenge your strategic prowess among other entrepreneurs.
Sandbox Mode: Unleash your creativity with sandbox mode, allowing you to build and manage your railroad corporation without constraints. With all 10 locomotives unlocked, and all research options completed, you’re free to experiment with different strategies, design intricate railroad networks, and explore the game’s features at your own pace.
