F1® 22 - Driver Ratings Update
There has been one stand-out driver gracing the top of the podium since the last F1® 22 driver ratings were released. However, with 19 other drivers to consider, we’ve canvased the opinions of David Croft, Alex Jacques, and Anthony Davidson once again to reflect real-world performance in-game up to and including the Italian Grand Prix.
Let’s get into some of the notable rating changes from Hungary to Monza:
Max Verstappen - Red Bull Racing
We’ve practically run out of superlatives to describe Max Verstappen’s first season as reigning World Champion. Since the Hungarian Grand Prix, Verstappen has won all three races in Belgium, The Netherlands, and Italy’s Monza. What makes this feat even more impressive, is that he only started on Pole in one of those races. In the case of Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps, he started outside the top 10 and still took the win. A truly unsurpassed performance from Max has seen his overall rise by a further point, putting him on 96 overall. He remains on track to mathematically win the title at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Zhou Guanyu – Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN
Zhou continues to impress in his rookie season and represents the highest overall increase in the 20-driver field. Since Hungary, Zhou has outperformed his teammate Valterri Bottas in two out of the three qualifying sessions and is three for three in race finishing positions with another point added to his tally at Monza. These performances have seen his Racecraft increase by six and Pace by two, representing an overall rise of three to 78 - up eight from the start of the season.
Daniel Ricciardo - McLaren
The news of Daniel’s departure from McLaren at the end of the season is yet to galvanise his performances on the track. A P15 finish at Spa, followed by a P17 at Zandvoort and DNF due to an engine failure towards the end of the Italian Grand Prix, have seen his Pace and Racecraft take a hit, with his overall Rating dropping to 84. He now drops below Pierre Gasly in the ratings standings.
