RAILROADS Online! - Official announcement of the developer
Dear community,
As I'm sure you've noticed, some official members recently left the Railroads-Online! team. This has raised some questions from you regarding the further development of Railroads Online!
I would like to clarify these in the following as transparently and factually as possible.
1) Who left the team?
Among those who have left the team are the Community Manager I appointed, some model makers and third parties, all of whom voluntarily filled these positions as a hobby in their spare time.
These positions are mainly about creating new models and communicating with you so that I, as a developer, can fully concentrate on the programming.
2) Why did some leave the team?
Since the work took place on a voluntary basis and the members invest a lot of free time, it is not always possible to combine main work, studies and career with the workload.
In the team we discuss further steps, which updates, innovations and processes are planned. We could not find a compromise on the following points:
- Scheduling regarding spline update
- New gauges and locomotives from version 1.0
- Various adjustments and expansion of the model range
- Team development
The different ideas could not be reconciled, which is why some members decided, among other things, to leave the team.
3) What's next?
The team has grown significantly in recent months and the positions have already been filled.
We hold weekly online team meetings where we discuss next steps to avoid past mistakes.
We plan to release updates on the current projects more often so that you are always up to date.
I would like to emphasize that the further development of Railroads Online! is secured regardless of these events and will continue as planned.
I became self-employed last year to develop the game in order to constantly improve and expand it. The game and your satisfaction are important to me, which is why I continue to work on it every day with full commitment.
At the moment we are designing an adapted roadmap with which we are trying very hard to take the content you want and above all to bring it into the game in a timely and orderly way.
A hasty and premature completion of version 1.0 through workshop content is not planned, I would like to continue the development with high-quality and individual content.
Due to the unexpectedly high demand, there is still potential for optimization in the entire process. Please bear in mind that not everything is running perfectly yet, we are constantly working on improvements.
Railroads Online! is the product of the fascination for railways - for the whole community. It will remain so.
I would also like to expressly deny any rumors that have arisen that I have quit, given up development or plan to sell the game!
I hope to have clarified some of your questions and look forward to continuing to build and develop Railroads Online! together with you.
Kind regards
Keume
