Chronicles of Rodovia #10 - Druids and Arbalesters
Greetings, your Grace! π

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! π Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.
Today, we're back with more of what you love the most... namely the heroes! π€© It's time to meet another pair of intrepid adventurers who (for a right gold fee, of course) will take on the quests you assign them. Though their skills, roles, and ways of life are very different, they can still come together to serve the glory of your kingdom.
Behold, rulers. The Druid and the have just arrived at the gates of your city.
Power of nature - Druids πΏ

Druids are mysterious guardians of nature, able to communicate with primal forces and use them to fight their enemies. Their arsenal of deadly skills includes elemental and nature magic and even animal control.
While Druids have many strengths, they excel as a ranged unit and struggle in close combat - luckily, their summoned forest companions step in to assist π» This hero archetype is eager to venture out into the wilderness, beyond the confines of the city, and is reluctant to undertake attack missions.
Druid abilities β¨

When forced into battle, the Druid will not hesitate to call upon his most fearsome abilities. This servant of nature is, for example, able to fire a magical boulder that damages and stuns enemies. He can also summon a group of aggressive ravens to swarm and attack enemies on his behalf π¦ββ¬
In terms of defensive abilities, Druids can summon a solid, thick shield of ice or call upon bears and wolves to aid them. Once their opponent realizes who they are dealing with and flees, Druids can bind them with magical roots.
The Tree of Elements π³

The Druids' quarters is one of the most unique structures in the entire world of Rodovia. Once you choose where you want to place it... your work is done! The Tree of Elements does not need builders, scaffolding and nails like other structures - it will take root on its own and start growing until it becomes a fully-fledged seat of guardians of the nature! π±
The same is true for repair - when the Tree of Elements is damaged, it will heal on its own. Your workers don't have to risk their lives to get close to a besieged building in order to repair it, which can be crucial later in the game.
Need to shoot something? Hire Arbalesters π―

Arbalester is an experienced shooter who has mastered the use of the powerful arbalest and other crossbows to perfection. His main advantage is huge firepower, which should be feared by even the most dreadful enemies. Arbalester may not be the fastest or the most durable unit, but in ranged combat he has no equal. Keep this in mind, especially when large beasts appear on your borders - they are the favorite target of this severe marksman.
Arbalester abilities β¨

As the most skilled marksmen in the realm, Arbalesters possess a vast array of abilities. Their primary attack is a devastating shot from an immense crossbow, but they have more than a few surprises up their sleeves. Examples? Of course! They can unleash fiery bolts to set enemies ablaze π₯, fire piercing projectiles that damage multiple targets, or strike weak points to cause bleeding.
Arbalesters are also equipped with deadly grenades, ideal for dealing with large enemy groups. When faced with danger, they stand their ground and activate the "Fortress" skill, allowing them to fortify their position and rain down shots on approaching foes.
Shooterβs Workshop πΉ

Arbalesters spend their free time at Shooter's Workshop. Unlike the Druids, they are known as city and civilization types, and are rather reluctant to undertake reconnaissance missions. And while these extraordinary shooters are very intriguing and unique individuals, their headquarters seem quite ordinary... except for one detail.
Any uninvited guest can expect to be greeted by a precise shot from a mighty ballista mounted on the Shooterβs Workshop tower! π That's right! The Arbalesters home is a weapon in itself. With the support of nearby watchtowers and their guards, they become an excellent means of defending your city.
Thank you, your Majesty!
