Thanks to your awesome feedback, we managed to prepare the very first Patch to the game. Your reports are coming to us in a wide stream on our Discord server, Steam discussions and Social Media, for which we are very grateful. You have proven once again that we can count on your support and enthusiasm. 🤩 Well done!

And so, based on your feedback, we are introducing a number of improvements and fixes to the Crown of Greed Playtest version.



[h2]Playtest Patch 0.1.1 Notes:[/h2]

[h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]
• Fixed an issue with tax collectors and workers disappearing
• Fixed an issue with heroes not being assigned to missions for more challenging habitats
• Fixed an issue causing overlapping of different panels on the right side of the screen
• Fixed a bug with missing graphics for certain items
• Fixed a bug with icons in hero headquarters not disappearing after being recruited
• Fixed a bug with caravans traveling to the most recently built marketplace instead of the nearest one
• Fixed a bug with characters visible in the fog of war

[h3]Improvements:[/h3]
• The minimap is now bigger
• Missing descriptions have been added
• Changes to the content of tooltips
• Adjustment to the minimum FPS setting in the game options
• Added the option to change anti-aliasing settings in the game
• Lower-level heroes will now have different skins
• Some visual effects have been enlarged for better readability
• Updates to the Guidebook
• The Alt key now displays additional information about buildings
• Increased width of the mission panel and hero list

• Tower prices have been increased
• The number of enemies generated on the map has been increased
• The number of monster habitats has been increased
• Some enemies now deal more damage

Soon the first group of testers will sit on the throne and face the dark forces of fearless undead, bloodthirsty beasts and gigantic devils. They will plan, build, recruit, offer contracts and utilize different strategies to ensure their very first foothold's survival. Be on your guard, however, as the task is not easy.

To apply for the Playtest, visit the Crown of Greed Steam page and find the Playtest section (just above the announcements). Next, look for the green Request Access button ✅, click it and... it's done!

We will do our best to grant access to the game to as many players as possible, so stay tuned and keep an eye out for a message from Steam.

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! 📖 Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.


The truth is that the enemies of your kingdom never sleep and are constantly looking for new ways to end your reign 💀 With this in mind, you must always be ready to repel the attacks of beasts that come at you from the surrounding forests, swamps or snowy plains, ready to risk everything to slay you and your loyal subjects. Fortunately, there is a way to stop them...



[h2]It's all about safety ✊[/h2]

The inhabitants of the realm of Rodovia know well that strong defense is the basis of their survival. That's why they have perfected a system of diverse defense towers that are designed to keep their borders safe. Your task as king will be to decide on their number, location and types - all this to kill every foe that dares to set foot on your territory!



[h3]Types of defense towers at your disposal 🏰[/h3]
[hr][/hr]
1️⃣ Guard Tower - Level 1 - The most basic defensive structure in your arsenal, that can be very helpful in the early stages of the game. It's not very durable, its damage isn't as high as other towers, and its range leaves a lot to be desired, but it's still great against weaker invaders.

2️⃣ Guard Tower - Level 2 - A larger, more durable, stronger and simply better version of the previous tower. When you feel the enemy pressure getting stronger, consider upgrading a few towers to level 2. We are sure you will feel the difference.

3️⃣ Observer Tower - Level 3 - Second-level towers can be upgraded into three variants.
The first one is the Observer Tower, whose task is to spot enemies from long distances to give you valuable time to prepare your defense. Of course, it's still manned by shooters, but its damage output isn't very high... compared to its view range, which is roughly three times that of the Level 2 Guard Tower.

3️⃣ Gunner’s Tower - Level 3 - The structure that your enemies fear the most - manned by twice as many shooters, who send their projectiles towards the invaders at astonishing speeds. It is a durable, deadly tower that can be the core of your defense.

3️⃣ Dam Tower - Level 3 - By far the most resistant and durable defensive structure in your kingdom. The speed of its shooters may not be that great, but the damage they deal is unmatched. Destroying this type of tower takes a lot of time, and during the process, the invaders are constantly exposed to fire!



[h2]Other ways to keep your cities safe 💪[/h2]

The defensive towers themselves, although powerful, may sometimes prove to be insufficient ☠️ Remember not to neglect the recruitment of soldiers and heroes who will not only support the operation of the towers, but can also destroy the habitats of enemies who attack your settlements. You must not forget, that some hero classes are perfect for defensive tasks, while others are better suited for reconnaissance missions and those aimed at destroying monster dens. Choose wisely!


[h2]The horde mode 😈[/h2]

Although this mode is still in quite an early stage of development, we still want to tell you a few words about it. In this mode, defense becomes even more important and becomes your main task as the king 👑 You can think of it as a kind of Tower Defense, in which you will be attacked by huge waves of enemies... and we mean it, when saying huge!



As mentioned earlier, we're still developing the Horde Mode, and we'll share more exciting details once we have something interesting to reveal. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

[h2]The greediest of them all - meet the Rogue 💰[/h2]

Although many of the heroes in your service value virtues ​​​​such as honor, discipline and loyalty, all of them love shiny coins. Well, that's just the nature of our dear adventurers. However, one of them stands out significantly when it comes to their love of gold... 🤑





Our today's hero is so greedy that he may even decide to reach for your treasury! No, you didn't mishear, Rogues hold no loyalty beyond their own pockets and may rob your kingdom's workshops and other buildings! Nonetheless, this is a price many rulers are willing to accept, as they realize what powerful allies these shadow masters are.

But what makes Rogues such desirable characters? Let's discuss a few facts and information about this rebellious adventurer ✊ Based on them, it will be easier for you to decide whether you consider them valuable partners or a threat:

• Rogues are willing to take on tasks of any type, although they will carefully analyze the risks and potential gains before accepting it

• They are famous for their tactical, cautious approach to combat

• They are focused on ruins and other resourceful locations where sizable amounts of gold can be found - Rogues are perfect for scouting this type of structures

• Unsurprisingly, this type of hero loves to spend time in taverns and gambling dens

• Shadow Masters are known for their proficiency with daggers. They know exactly where to hit to hurt! They can poison their blades, finish off wounded targets, and even throw their knives

• It is said that the most proficient Rogues can simply vanish in the air...

• You must not forget that they are the most greedy hero archetype out there


[h2]Syndicate of the Sticky Fingers ✋[/h2]

No matter what you say or think about them, Rogues are definitely one of the most intriguing hero classes. No wonder their headquarters is filled with sounds of games, the whistle of throwing knives and the clanking of rolling dices. Syndicate of the Sticky Fingers, as it is called, can be upgraded up to Tier III, allowing your Rogues to hone their skills and experience. Make no mistake, a trained representative of this profession is a powerful weapon... at your command!

As we mentioned above, Rogues are always careful in choosing their tasks and avoid fighting opponents who are clearly stronger than them. We wonder if they would take on the mission to defeat the beast we want to present to you today... 🌲 Brace yourselves, Rulers, we're off to the forest!





[h2]Fur, fangs and claws - a visit to the Bear's Den 🐻[/h2]

The mystical forests of Rodovia are famous for being full of dangers and dark, undiscovered corners. These are the places that bears have chosen as their homes. As territorial animals, they constantly patrol around their habitat and look for nearby targets that threaten their dens. Bears are extremely dangerous for less experienced heroes who have ventured too far into the forest... 💀





However, this does not mean that they do not pose a threat to more powerful adventurers. Just imagine - coming face to face with hundreds of kilograms of muscles, fangs and claws. To make matters worse, legends speak of even more powerful, older forms of bears. Although only a few have survived such an encounter, some travelers mention an ancient, black varieties of these animals.

Fortunately, like all other enemies, bears can be defeated, and their habitats destroyed 🌳 Once you achieve this, the forests around your kingdom will become a much safer place!
