Chronicles of Rodovia #7 - Economy Buildings ๐Ÿ”จ

Greetings, your Grace! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! ๐Ÿ“– Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.

Today we will look at 4 buildings that are among the economic pillars of your kingdom. This means that one of your tasks will be to make them appear in your realm as quickly as possible. After all, we don't want us to miss out on important opportunities and... gold coins ๐Ÿค‘ due to their absence, do we, your Grace?
Profitable, useful and important ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

This is the simplest way to describe the buildings we will examine in today's entry. As you know, most things in Crown of Greed revolve around cash, and its constant inflow is one of the conditions for your success.

Fortunately, there are several ways to fill your treasury and gain some very interesting options of development at the same time. And This is where Blacksmith, Alchemist's Shop, Marketplace and Trading Post come to the rescue! ๐Ÿ˜
Blacksmith ๐Ÿ”จ

A powerful weapon that strikes terror into the hearts of your opponents? Impenetrable armor providing great protection? Or maybe another great item that will increase your chances on the battlefield? Blacksmith has them all!

You can think of a Blacksmith as of an extremely important workshop where your heroes can spend their hard-earned money to improve their equipment. Thanks to a wide selection of weapons, they will be able to deal more damage, and thanks to varied armor, they will be able to better protect themselves from injuries. What's more, the building can be upgraded, offering even more powerful items! โš”๏ธ

The Blacksmith becomes increasingly important, particularly in the later stages of the game, when heroes' missions grow significantly more challenging and perilous compared to the early game. However, the earnings coming from the heroes' pockets are not everything. This workshop also generates passive income and is regularly visited by your tax collector. As you can see, Blacksmith is a real goldmine!
Alchemist's Shop ๐Ÿต

This building will become available in your city during a later phase of the game, as it necessitates an upgraded Castle to be built. Just as a Blacksmith, Alchemist's Shop also generates passive income for your kingdom, being a stable source of your income. However, this is where the similarities end...

The Alchemist's Shop is the workplace of witches who have perfected the art of preparing potions and elixirs ๐Ÿ”ฎ Once you develop the right technology, they will be able to prepare really powerful blends, which will significantly increase the capabilities of your heroes.

Such potions can not only heal their wounds, but also increase strength, endurance and other features necessary in the adventurer's craft. Unlike weapons and armor, potions are consumable goods that need to be replenished regularly... which is good news! The more heroes visit your Alchemist's Shop, the more cash they will leave behind. Be sure to upgrade this building as you progress through the game to meet the needs of your hired adventurers!
Marketplace โš–๏ธ

Marketplace is quite a unique building... but still shares some features with the previous two. Similar to the Blacksmith and Alchemist's Shop, this place offers heroes a range of items to buy, including magical artifacts (such as rings or trinkets) and consumable goods. Moreover, adventurers can also sell unnecessary items from their stash here. Making a long story short, Marketplace is a place where you can buy and sell all kinds of wares and merchandise! But that's not all.

At the beginning, when the Marketplace is still a modest, unimproved building ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ it will only offer the most basic items. Over time, when you meet the appropriate requirements, you will be able to upgrade it and increase its product range. By unlocking new technologies, truly powerful items will appear on the Marketplace shelves, making heroes visiting your city eager to see and buy them!

In addition to generating passive income and drawing the tax collector, the Marketplace has another important role: it is a hub for visiting trade caravans. Caravans are responsible for transporting gold and other resources in the Kingdom from one predetermined point to another... but that's a story for another day.
Trading Post ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Only rulers who have already built a Marketplace can establish a Trading Post, and these can only be built in remote, designated locations. Therefore, they force you to occupy distant, unexplored areas. The further away you establish a Trading Post, the more gold it will bring into your treasury... and the more vulnerable it will be to attacks! ๐Ÿ’€

The Trading Post itself does not passively generate gold, but it does periodically generate caravans that are heading to your city. Without going into too much detail, as we will talk about caravans in a separate post, when such a trade expedition reaches its destination, you will earn a certain amount of cash.

The higher the tier of a Trading Post, the better and more frequent caravans it generates. Moreover, thanks to such an upgrade, the building can start defending itself against enemy attacks. While this is for sure a useful feature, it's rare for a Trading Post to be able to defend itself... but after all, that's what it has you for - the King, protector of the realm!
Thank you, your Majesty!
Chronicles of Rodovia #6 - Gold ๐Ÿค‘

Greetings, your Grace! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! ๐Ÿ“– Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.

Today we will venture deep into your royal treasury. Will we find piles of gold and shiny coins there? Or will we be struck by its emptiness and long-abandoned cobwebs? ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ In the harsh world of Crown of Greed, gold plays an extremely important role.

Those who run out of funds will quickly discover that they are in real trouble. We don't want that to happen, do we now, Your Grace? Today's guide will help you understand how to keep your pockets full of gold coins and how to handle them efficiently. Time is money, so let's not waste another minute!
Gold as the main resource in the world of Rodovia โš–๏ธ

This slogan appears quite often today... but what exactly does gold allow you to do? Well, just after entering the game, you will discover that gold coins are necessary for numerous crucial activities.
The most important services that a full treasury can provide you are:
โ€ข Building new structures available in the Castle panel
โ€ข Upgrading your Castle or other buildings
โ€ข Selecting a wide range of other upgrades for different aspects of your empire
โ€ข Recruiting new or resurrecting fallen heroes
โ€ข Casting powerful spells
โ€ข Activating special abilities of your buildings
โ€ข Offering messy jobs to your heroes

As you can see, the list is quite long! Now, knowing how useful gold is, you can probably guess that obtaining it is not easy. A wise ruler must learn how to spend and acquire new resources in order to provide their kingdom with a constant balance ๐Ÿค” So... how can you get your hands on priceless gold?
Different ways to get rich ๐Ÿคฉ

One of the easiest ways to improve the royal budget is to collect taxes in the Castle. After all, you are the King and collecting taxes is your sacred duty! And while collecting taxes in the Castle itself is quite easy, the subsequent stages of this process are much more tricky.

The Tax Collector will prove to be a very important figure here. His task is to visit the buildings of your empire and collect the due tribute ๐Ÿ’ฐ And so, your emissary may knock on the door of economy buildings such as Market, Forge, or Alchemist, independently built structures like Windmill or Worker's House, or even the Headquarters of Heroes. Once the Tax Collector manages to take his planned route through the various places in your subordinate area, all he has to do is return to the Castle or one of the watchtowers...

Unfortunately, many pairs of eyes eagerly glance at the bags full of gold coins carried by your Tax Collectors. If he wanders the far reaches of your kingdom or is left unprotected, his life, and even worse, the taxes he has collected, may be lost! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ If you decide to spend some of your funds to assign him protection, his job will become much easier and safer.

Speaking of which, Heroes will be perfect as such bodyguards. Even though they will gladly accept your coins, they are also, in a sense, the source of your income. For example, if the mission you assigned them is successful, they will give you back some of the funds obtained during their expedition. How generous!
Life of a Hero โœŠ

One of your main tasks as King will be to assign the mentioned missions to your Heroes. It will be up to you to determine the risk, the price you are willing to pay, and to choose the right types of adventurers for the job ๐Ÿ’€ Make no mistake, your Heroes are no fools and value their lives very much. That's why... they often go shopping!

(Work in Progress)

And that is how the money you pay them to do the bloody work may go back into your treasury. If you provide your heroes with the right conditions, they will willingly spend some of their money on improving their gear or potions that can increase their effectiveness ๐Ÿ’ช When you grant them access to, for example, your blacksmith, they can upgrade their combat equipment. This way, cash circulates in a continuous cycle among the borders of your kingdom. The key is to strike the right balance.

Chronicles of Rodovia #5 - Life of a Hunter ๐Ÿน

Greetings, your Grace! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! ๐Ÿ“– Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.

Today we will venture into the wilderness. And it's not just about an ordinary forest, but about unexplored lands, misty thickets and woods inhabited by deadly creatures. This is what the life of a Hunter is like - dangerous, yet full of bold deeds and adventures โœŠ Care to share one?
The wilderness holds no secrets... ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿ—

While most people feel most comfortable among the city streets, castles, and homes of their kin, your kingdom will also have free spirits who prefer something... entirely different. Their home isn't stone walls, but a sleeping bag in the forest. Their roof isn't shingles, but a sky full of stars. Finally, their dream is not a warm meal by the fireplace, but an eternal journey and discovering the unknown. Meet Hunters - the greatest wilderness experts whose services can change the face of your empire!

To broaden and solidify your power as a ruler, you'll frequently need to take risks and venture into new wild territories. However, not all heroes are willing to undertake such expeditions - sometimes it does not suit their character, sometimes they simply lack the appropriate skills. Fortunately, Hunters are always happy to take on such a challenge, as their specialty is long journeys and reconnaissance missions ๐Ÿฆถ

Hunters are known for their speed and excellent eyesight, which allows them to uncover larger areas than other units. Their weapon of choice is the iconic bow and arrow. They attack silently, quickly and effectively, which is why their opponents often do not even see what hit them! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

This, combined with their eternal pursuit of adventures and freedom, ensures that Hunters are always happy about undertaking exploration missions.
Hunters Camp ๐Ÿน Recruit the best of the best

Did you know that Hunters deal more damage against beasts than other heroes? Do you know why they are famous for their speed and scouting abilities mentioned above? The secret, apart from the experience gained in the field, lies in their training. Hunters Camp isn't only a place where you can recruit these agile wanderers, but it's also their training ground where they hone their craft.

With practice, your Hunters can enhance their skills, mastering new, even more deadly shooting techniques... of course, if they live long enough. Their camp serves as a safe place to rest between missions, as well as a point where they exchange stories with their brethren. Therefore, you should always consider allocating additional funds to enhance this building, so the heroes have the optimal environment for their growth ๐ŸŽฏ The better the Hunters are, the better service they will be able to provide you!

Thanks to good knowledge of the surrounding areas and the ability to carry out missions in distant corners of your empire, you can gain a significant advantage over your opponents. Make no mistake, such challenges are never easy and only well-trained adventurers can cope with them โš”๏ธ Hunters, although specific and preferring to work alone, will undoubtedly demonstrate their value to you on many, many occasions.
Basilisk - one of the beasts you can hunt ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

As you traverse various hunting grounds, it is more than certain that you will encounter many deadly dangers ๐Ÿ’€ Welcome to the world of Rodovia! Among these dangers we can mention many entities - undead, cursed ones, demons, greenskins... or beasts, which are the Hunters' specialty. Thanks to extensive training and experience shared among members of this profession, Hunters are more than capable of facing bloodthirsty beasts, and they won't back down from horrors such as giant spiders, vipers, or wolves ๐Ÿบ

And while these all are very dangerous creatures, they are still far from the Basilisk...

You see, your Majesty, Hunters encounter many beasts in their careers, but after encountering a Basilisk, these careers often end in a violent and bloody way. Only the most experienced and well-equipped veterans are able to deal with this gigantic, lizard-like creature. Oh, did we mention that it can... fly? To make matters worse, the Basilisk's direct gaze can turn its prey to stone ๐Ÿ˜ฑ If legends are to be believed, this mysterious monstrosity can be found in long-forgotten dungeons and the thickest forest.

With this in mind, be sure to double-check that your Hunters are capable of defeating this unique beast - the loss of a proven hero can be severe, and the replacement of his role can be long-lasting. Don't be surprised if the Hunter asks for a large sum of gold for undertaking such a difficult mission ๐Ÿ’ฐ Where there is a great challenge, there is a great reward, as they say. In the end, you alone must assess the balance of costs and benefits of eliminating the dreadful Basilisk from your lands.
Thank you, your Majesty!

We trust that the fifth installment of the Chronicles of Rodovia series has sparked your eagerness to seize the throne and guide your kingdom to prosperity and glory!

You can be sure that we will soon publish more interesting information and news about the game, just like the next parts of our Chronicles ๐Ÿ˜ Stay hyped, stay tuned, and add Crown of Greed to your Steam wishlist. Thank you, Rulers!

Chronicles of Rodovia #4 - Enemies of the realm โ˜ ๏ธ

Greetings, your Grace! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! ๐Ÿ“– Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully.

Arm yourself with courage and some good, sharp steel, your Majesty - today we will take a closer look at the Undead forces and the bloodthirsty Devils, one of the most deadliest foes of your Realm.
Dangers lurk everywhere ๐Ÿ’€

Evil abhors a vacuum. It greedily extends its clawed paws wherever it is not vigorously fought. As you know, the situation is similar in the Realm of Rodovia, the defense of which is your sacred duty. While expanding your kingdom and discovering new frontiers, you are sure to encounter numerous deadly dangers, that may cause great harm to your people and your heritage ๐Ÿ˜ฑ This is why, as a ruler, you should thoroughly familiarize yourself with the horrors you and your warriors will face.

(Work in Progress)

Fortunately, as always, you can count on the help of your scribes and sages, who will tell you all about the foes of the realm under your reign. Today we will look into deep, dark caves and visit the crumbled walls of haunted strongholds. On this day, we will delve into the empty eyes of the undead soldiers, and hear the terrifying roar of giant, dark-magic corrupted demons. Knowing your enemy is half the battle, so be sure to stay vigilant. Here we go!
The undead never sleep ๐Ÿฆด

Undead warriors feel no fear, cold, or hunger, and will not shrink from any danger. Their bones, deprived of their own will, are completely dispassionate and devoted to the bloody desire to kill the living. It's hard to say the same about their opponents - when seeing their empty eye sockets and the tattered remains of skin and tendons, they have every right to be terrified โ˜ ๏ธ

The undead, apart from their hideous appearance and mysterious aura, have another terrifying feature - they cannot be expected to show even the slightest signs of mercy. Having that in mind, it seems they have no weaknesses. However...

There are several effective ways to send them to the grave, the very place where they belong. Obviously, undead do not bleed, so slashing and stabbing weapons are not as effective against them as blunt weapons. This is the first weakness of these monsters - strong, confident blows with war hammers or clubs. Additionally, skeleton warriors are not known for being master strategists and will often attack you as soon as they encounter your units, often one at a time, with no support.

You can expect such reckless attacks from units called the Undead Warrior and the Undead Crossbowman. They can often be found wandering aimlessly around their dens. The situation changes when an Undead Captain appears in their company. This mysterious and deadly creature is able to control the undead around it and form them into troops. Needless to say, a group of skeleton fighters is much more dangerous than any individual unit. Especially when we consider the murderous abilities of the Captain himself.

It is worth knowing that undead beings often inhabit forgotten, mossy ruins. The places where they can be found include Cemeteries, Dungeons, Ruined Castles, haunted Towers and other similar terrifying locations. They are also common in desolates known as Deathlands. Remember to always remain vigilant when sending your heroes into such places ๐Ÿ‘€ If they fail, their bones will strengthen the armies of the undead.
Devils - a horror that makes your heroes shiver ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

This time we will face a flesh and blood enemy. It's true - Devils, as living creatures, can bleed and get hurt or tired, but this does not mean that they are an easy opponent. Not at all. Just one glance is enough to see what a deadly force they are - huge, massive bodies, incredibly strong arms wielding axes as tall as an adult man or powerful hooves that make the ground tremble are just to begin with. However, their most terrifying feature is their horned, skinless skulls and red, demoniacal eyes that can break the will of even the greatest warrior. Knowing that Devils belong to one of the most terrifying types of enemies - demons - makes it hard to blame them.

Devilish Tormentors, because this is the name of the unit you can see below, relies on their brute strength and high endurance ๐Ÿ’ช Just see how easily it overpowered the charge of two hapless guards.

(Work in Progress)

Speaking of strength and endurance, you need to know that Devils are resistant to several types of effects, such as stun or petrification. Their mighty skulls are far too thick to daze them, and their demonic roots too deep to turn them into the stone. Keep this in mind when choosing the heroes you send on the mission to slay these terrifying beasts! โš”๏ธ

The best way to defeat the Devils is to use the numerical advantage. While this type of enemy is quite adept at fighting a few opponents at the same time and can attack multiple targets with a single swing, even it cannot avoid defeat when surrounded. We must not forget how durable this creature is and how many blows it takes to bring it down. The other way to kill them is to use an experienced, well-equipped hero. Only such battle-hardened adventurers have any chance in single combat against these demoniacal beings. However, such an assignment is very dangerous... and it certainly won't be cheap.

Devils tend to dwell in gloomy and foggy places, such as dark, cold caves. They often patrol the surroundings of their dens, looking for opportunities to fight and wreak havoc. If, while exploring the world of Rodovia, you come across a cave yawning with sinister darkness, know that it is very likely occupied by these bloodthirsty demons. Devils may not be very fast, but if you disturb their peace, they won't let you go unpunished.

As a farewell, we can only wish you that these ferocious beasts will be a rare visitor to your cities. Their immense strength and durability may cost the lives of many of your subjects. Make no mistake... they will take every opportunity to soak their weapons in human blood ๐Ÿฉธ so be sure you'll be ready when they come.
Thank you, your Majesty!

We trust that the second installment of the Chronicles of Rodovia series has sparked your eagerness to seize the throne and guide your kingdom to prosperity and glory!
