Dear Community,

Thank you so much for the incredible level of engagement and interest you've shown in Sengoku Dynasty. Your curiosity and enthusiasm truly energize us as we work towards the launch of Early Access. We deeply appreciate the time you've taken to ask thoughtful questions and share your anticipation for the game with us.

We are thrilled to announce that we've selected 30 questions from the myriad of great queries we've received. We'll be answering these questions on a weekly basis, ensuring that you receive in-depth and thoughtful responses to each. Today, we're starting with the first seven.

We want to emphasize that the Early Access launch is just the beginning of our shared journey in the fascinating world of Sengoku Dynasty. Our goal is to start with a solid foundation and build upon it, constantly enhancing the game with your feedback and our planned features. The game's potential is vast and, with your input, we believe we can shape an extraordinary experience together.

In our efforts to ensure a rich gaming experience from the get-go, we prioritized certain aspects for the Early Access launch. These include the flexibility of First Person and Third Person perspectives, the excitement of multiplayer gameplay, and much more. As a small but dedicated team, we have carefully balanced our resources to create a compelling game at launch while retaining a broad vision for its future growth.

Our roadmap is filled with exciting features that we intend to roll out as the game evolves. While some of them didn't make it to the initial release due to the size of our team, rest assured, they remain important to us. Your insights will continue to inform our priorities as we navigate the path of game development.

Once again, thank you for your passionate involvement. Now, let's dive into the answers to your insightful questions!

Without further ado:

1. Will any historical figures be included?
Although you won't encounter historical figures face-to-face, you'll surely feel their presence in the game. Several NPCs are inspired by these figures, and their names and deeds will surface in dialogues, adding a layer of historical context. By choosing this approach, we preserve the authenticity of historical events while empowering you with the ability to influence the game world.

2. Can we create our own katana? Will there be weapon customizations?
Absolutely! Crafting your own swords is an exciting feature that'll be part of the game from the start of EA. And as for weapon customization, it's a fascinating idea that's on our radar for the future. But first things first, we're thrilled to introduce you to our layered and engaging tier crafting system.

3. Can we build shrines?
Yes, you can! The construction of shrines, each devoted to different deities, will be a feature available to you from the launch of EA. Furthermore, you'll be able to embellish the area around your shrine with various decorative items such as torii gates and lamps, enhancing the authenticity and charm of your space.

4. How to convince people to join your village?
The key lies in connection and generosity. First, seek out people fleeing the war and looking for a new home. Your Dynasty Legend level should be sufficiently high to reflect the prestige of your Dynasty. Engage in a conversation with your prospective villager, extend an offer of residency, and arrange for their accommodation. Congratulations, you've just added a new member to your village!

5. Will there be random events like plagues or low harvests?
Indeed, we're planning to infuse the game with captivating dynamics that include shifts in seasons, dynasty developments, and production alterations. These changes are currently being designed and are scheduled for post-launch implementation. Although we're not ready to share the full specifics, we are excited about the increased level of realism and intricacy they're going to bring to your gaming journey.

6. Will there be fishing? If yes - how will it be working? Are there boats?
Absolutely! Starting from the launch of our Early Access, you'll be able to engage in some fundamental fishing activities. For example, you can assign your villagers the role of fishermen, and they'll start producing fish for your village. But that's not all! In our post-launch roadmap, we've planned to introduce fishing rods, allowing you to personally dive into the thrill of fishing. We've got grand plans to broaden this aspect significantly later. And yes, you'll see boats and rafts in the game, although they're there to add a layer of scenic beauty to your gaming world.

7. What will mining look like?
Mining in our game, at its core, will be quite an engaging activity. You'll begin with a simple pickaxe in hand and the world full of resource deposits waiting to be discovered and extracted. If you're dreaming of establishing a mining powerhouse, you'll need to strategically place your villages near these resource rich spots. When it comes to iron mining, it'll demand a bit more effort from you - setting up the right infrastructure like rock-crushing units is essential. But hey, we don't want to give everything away - you'll have to discover some of the exciting mining mechanics on your own!

The latest edition of the Sengoku Scrolls is now available!

Youkoso!

As work continues diligently on the game, let's take a quick look at some of the contents of the latest scrolls.

Ame-no-Uzume is a legendary figure of the Japanese pantheon. She is much discussed among scholars and we try to find a context to a dance.

An important figure of the late Sengoku and early Edo era is Date Masamune, a warlord and daimyo from northeastern Japan who helped Tokugawa Ieyasu to victory at the Battle of Sekigahara. Read more about this colourful person.

In this issue, we also take a little detour into the Unreal Engine 5 and its new features.

Furthermore, there are interesting facts about paper production, clothing and the scholar Tenjin.

Sengoku Dynasty – Going Unreal Engine 5!

Youkoso!

You may have been wondering which engine we used to develop Sengoku Dynasty.

Initially, we started with Unreal Engine 4, even though Unreal Engine 5 was on the horizon. We were excited about the new changes, as was anyone with an interest in game development. However, from a technical and business standpoint, it was too early for us to switch, so we decided to stick with UE4…

…but that's not where the story ends! In December 2022, with the implementation of UE5.1, we finally felt that there was enough incentive in the new possibilities, as well as stability in the engine. So now, we can proudly say that we are officially a UE5 game, and one of the first to hit Steam very soon!

Attached are some screenshots taken from the game to whet your appetite. Stay tuned for more exciting materials coming soon!

Arigato!

Sengoku Dynasty - The Emperor's Birthday

Youkoso!

Today is the Emperor’s Birthday. Tennō tanjōbi, as it is called in Japan, is an annual holiday celebrating the birthday of the reigning Emperor. The best place to celebrate is the Tokyo Imperial Palace, where the Emperor and Empress greets the gathered members of public from the balcony.

Did you know that the imperial family is probably the longest-running royal family in the world, spanning more than 1,500 years?
