Sengoku Dynasty - 1.0 Release Date

Youkoso!

It's no longer a secret that we want to launch the 1.0 version in November. There's just one question left to answer and our meeting in the garden has revealed a date! Are you excited?
Version 1.0 will be released on 7 November!
So meditate for a while before it begins. There will be a big update in just 4 weeks!

Thank you for your great support!

If you have any questions or feedback for us, please post them here, on Discord or on our social media channels!

Q&A Session Part 2 - Building, Room, Furnishing
Are you going to optimise the game further?
Yes, we are constantly working on optimization, and each update introduces new improvements in that regard. It’s a long process, and our game is rather complex, with many interactable elements, but we are working on it. One thing that won’t change is the game not working on DirectX 11 – it needs DX12 for Nanite.
Do you plan to add more decorations and furniture for external purposes?
There will be a lot of new structures, large and small, added to the game in the next update, some of which will be used as decorations, as well as some new furniture. In general, furniture can only be used inside buildings, and while some village structures duplicate their functionality, we try to keep them separate for clarity and optimization purposes.
Will animal farming, including horses, be introduced to the game?
Not with 1.0.
Do you plan to add curved roads?
There are no such plans for the foreseeable future.
Do you plan to add trading?
The trading is in the game from the release of the early access version. The player can trade with various traders in neutral villages, and with some wandering traders that spawn on the map. In the last update, we introduced perks that unlock trading posts in the player village, which also attract travelling merchants. We will expand the variety of trading posts that the player can build.
Do you plan to add more crafting stations?
We are planning to expand existing crafting stations with new recipes. Some new crafting stations may also be introduced, depending on what new production chains we will add to the game.
Do you plan to add more customization options to my buildings (walls, roofs etc.)?
Yes, we are working on new roofs, walls, ramps, and other elements. It typically takes a lot of time to update all existing buildings, so we focus on adding new buildings first.
Will NPCs get perks, quirks, favourite jobs or such?
We have plans for refugees and villagers having traits that will define their consumption preferences, and job specialisations that they will be able to expand. They will also have some variations in personalities. It will, however, take some time before such massive changes will be added to the game - probably along with changes that allow the player to customise their villagers' outfits.
Will it be possible to expand houses with rooms?
We have some plans for the player to be able to add internal walls to the buildings, maybe eventually they will make their way to the game.
Will armour and weapon customization ever be introduced, like different sword handle colours, different armour colours, different decorations for the helmets?
Equipment customization is something that we are fans of, but it is not our top priority right now. We have plans to add a feature for choosing different colours for various wearable and holdable items – we have a lot of the assets ready and waiting for this mechanic to be implemented.
Will we be able to build a dōjō, a mansion, Nō- and Kabuki-theatres, sento (bathing houses), or a tea house?
In the 1.0 update, you will be able to build various mansion buildings, as well as a tea house. Dōjō, theatre, and bathing houses are also on our list for the future.
Will there be dedicated servers later?
There are no plans to introduce dedicated servers for the game yet. We are looking into those options, as well as options for mod support, so who knows what the future will bring?

Q&A Session Part 1 - Weapons, Quests, and Mythology

Welcome to the latest Q&A for Sengoku Dynasty! We’re excited to share more details about upcoming updates, new features, and improvements based on your questions. From new quests to gameplay mechanics and community feedback, we’re always working to evolve the game. Let's dive into your questions!
Can weapons like katanas offer different properties when you craft them?
Yes, different tiers of weapons offer varied combat and economic stats, so you'll find unique properties depending on how they are crafted.
Will there be more quests?
Yes, we’re introducing two quest-based systems soon. The first is a system of procedural seasonal quests, which means the objectives and rewards will be randomised, as will their locations across different NPCs. These quests will be available at the start of each season and must be completed before the season ends.

The second system involves family quests. These will let you marry NPCs and even have children, though this feature will be rolled out gradually. Children won’t have 3D representations initially, but this may change in future updates.
Is more mythology planned? Like Yokai?
No, we aim for realism with Sengoku Dynasty and won’t introduce supernatural elements like Yokai. However, the game does evoke the era’s connection to gods and spirits through dialogues, quests, and an evolving shrine offering system that reflects the spiritual beliefs of the time.
Can we select from different weapons?
Yes, the game offers a variety of weapons to choose from and much more coming in 1.0.
Are there more enemy villagers coming?
Yes, the next update will introduce new enemies wielding different weapons and categorised by threat levels.
Could we be seeing more wandering bandits on the roads in the future?
Yes, expect more enemies to appear in diverse locations across the map in the next update.
Will you be introducing more apparel items or adding the option to dye existing ones for the fashion-conscious players?
Yes, the upcoming update will expand the variety of equipment, and the option to dye existing apparel is something we plan to implement in the future.
Are you planning any in-game festivities and events?
Yes, we plan to add romance options and wedding celebrations as part of future updates.
Could players create their own festival, tying into cultural or religious themes already in the game?
No, the ability for players to create their own festivals is not planned at this time.
Will the cap for villagers increase above 100 in all areas?
The cap is global and not per village. We are considering introducing a custom game setting that could override this limit.
Can we give Mata in Sosogi a home? Or Toshichi?
Not yet, but we plan to make this possible in a future update.
Will it be possible for villagers to look more distinct from one another and wear clothes stored in inventory?
Not in the next update, but these customization options are planned for the future.
Will villager marriages and children be possible? I would love for my villagers to have families and produce workers naturally instead of recruiting them.
Not in the next update, but we are working on introducing this feature down the line.
Will Sengoku Dynasty come to console?
Yes.

Sengoku Dynasty – A New Dawn in the Nata Valley!

Youkoso!

Are you ready to shape your destiny? Step into the fascinating medieval world of Japan and rise to power! Begin your journey as a commoner in the turbulent Sengoku era, where you'll carve out your path to glory—whether through mastery of a craft or by wielding a weapon. Your ultimate goal: to become the ruler of Nata Valley.

With the release of version 1.0, Sengoku Dynasty introduces significant new features, including regions you can conquer to secure your rise to dominance. Face more dangerous bandits and their camps as you fight for control - now also in FPP. If you prefer, skip the battles and focus on quests and Special Projects to unlock new regions through your economic power.

Version 1.0 also brings the long-awaited character editor, now with the option to play as a female character. NPCs will become more dynamic with added Japanese voiceovers for greetings and goodbyes, as well as new gestures.

With version 1.0, you can finally live like a daimyo in your own mansion—because power deserves style. More late-game buildings are on the way, too.

Expect loads of new content and other improvements as well.
