Regarding Schedule I: No Lawsuit

Dear Gamers,

We’d like to address your Schedule I / Drug Dealer Simulator publication and share some facts regarding the situation.

1. There is no lawsuit.
2. It is not our intention to prevent TVGS from selling or developing their game.
3. There is an investigation into the nature of similarities between the games since a preliminary legal analysis indicated there might have been an infringement.
4. The analysis and investigation were necessary in the light of repeating opinions that the games are very similar. By not investigating it, Movie Games, being a publicly traded company, could face severe consequences for negligence.
5. The above was communicated only via ESPI, a stock market communication system, where we are obligated to publish such information for full transparency. Not publishing it would also be a case of negligence. From there it was picked up by the media and, in some cases, wrongly reported as a lawsuit.
6. The above is handled only by Movie Games, the publisher, not Byterunners, the developer of Drug Dealer Simulator. The developer is not involved in it whatsoever.

There is no ill will towards TVGS. We even mailed them best wishes shortly before the release, when the game was already huge, but before the investigation was deemed necessary. However, we are obligated to perform this investigation, act accordingly to the scope of the infringement if it is confirmed, and inform the public about it via ESPI.

Best wishes,
Movie Games

New update is here! Crashfixes & more

Hello Dealers!

As promised, we’re coming to you today with new crashfixes and a batch of additional changes! The main course is the travel crash fix, which you helped us identify and confirm the solution.

From the data you sent we know that this problem was responsible for as much as 79% of crashes. Fixing it should make a BIG difference for stability overall. (Other crash reasons will be dealt with too in future updates.)

Let’s dive straight into Update Notes:

Fixed crash related to NPCs navigation, most frequently observed when travelling, especially via vehicles;
Fixed an issue where the player could be bitten by a snake while quick-travelling;
Fixed an issue that could cause the game to save automatically during quick travel;
Fixed an issue where the player could not move after quick travel;
Added new VO for thugs, policemen and militia;
Added VO for bodyguards;
The trade dialogue option is now the first choice with shopkeepers.

Thank you all for reporting your crashes and testing out the solutions. Your help was invaluable!

Stay tuned, more updates are coming soon!

Take a tour of Casino DLC

Hey all!

This is Pawel from True Games Syndicate, the team behind Casino DLC. I thought it’d be nice to show you around our fine establishment near the coast of Isla Sombra. In a series of devlogs like this one, I’ll tell you exactly what Casino DLC is, and how we aimed to make it complementary to the DDS2 experience.

Let’s start with: what happens when you first launch it?

When you install Casino DLC, you’ll see that a new location appeared on the map: the Big Win Oil Rig, which is the host to the Wallet Drainer Casino. It’s a place where not everyone can simply come.

DDS2: Casino DLC comes with a questline that starts with you gaining entry to the casino and ends with you taking over the business, which becomes your cash cow. But before you get there, you’ll have a couple of hours of gameplay before you - not to mention the main attraction, which is chilling out with friends while playing poker.

ONLY THE HOST NEEDS TO HAVE THE DLC INSTALLED to enjoy it with friends. The other two players can just join without buying the DLC.

We designed the Casino primarily as a place to hang out in for DDS2 crews. Now if you just want to spend fun time with your friends, you don’t have to continue doing the usual drug dealing business. You can come to the casino together, take a seat at a table and try to take them to the cleaners.

Our main attraction is a variety of single player / co-op casino games: Texas Hold’em, All-in Poker, Blackjack and Roulette. There are also slot machines if the only competitor you need is Lady Luck. To play, you need to exchange cash for chips, and when you win, you can either cash them, or - if you got Golden Chips - use them to buy exclusive stuff such as decorations for your hideouts.

There are areas that are available from the start, but also a VIP lounge where you need to earn admittance. But, I think this is long enough for the first preview devlog. Stay with us, join the DDS2 Discord (now with its very own Casino corner), and wishlist the DLC so you don’t miss the release.

See ya, dealers!
