Blade of Darkness Major Update

Dear Blade of Darkness Community,

Your feedback has been invaluable to us, today we are releasing the following updates based on your input:

1. Camera Settings Update: We've listened to your feedback and are reverting to the camera settings from our October 2021 re-release as the default option for new players. Additionally, we're providing the flexibility to switch between the 2001 original camera, the 2021 re-release camera, and the 2023 console-like, free-rotation camera at any time. Simply navigate to 'Controls' --> 'Camera' to access the 'Reworked Camera' settings.

'0' - will enable the original, 2001 camera
'1' - will enable 2021 re-release camera (new default)
'2' - will enable 2023 console-like, free-rotation camera

2. We're excited to bring back the nostalgic experience of the 2001 version of the game, now available on Steam and selectable through the launch window widget. We hope our long-time fans enjoy revisiting this classic edition.

3. Reintegration of Original Spanish Language Assets: Thanks to the feedback from our Spanish-speaking community, we've resolved an issue with language versions and restored the very original version of the game. Minor adjustments have been made for clarity, ensuring an authentic experience for all players.

Thank you for your unwavering support!

Best regards,
SNEG Team

Blade of Darkness Major Update

Last months were quite busy working on the major update for the Blade of Darkness. We've checked your feedback, talked to some of you directly and as a result came up with the list of improvements that we want to implement. Let's go straight to this list to show what was done:

- upscaled textures (thank you for all your help and support SrRaulCL)
- bug fixes for the game’s save system
- reworked camera with the ability to freely look around outside of the combat
- better controller support
- new visual features: improved anti-aliasing, HDR, bloom, SSAO, motion blur
- massive patchwork across the game
- SteamDeck support (pending Valve's approval)
- console versions release

Thank you for your support of Blade of Darkness IP across all these years and if you want to spread the word about the game - that's a good moment as we are also putting it on 50% off discount.

Have fun! :)

Mac & Linux BETA release

We're happy to introduce a beta release of native Mac & Linux versions of Blade of Darkness based on the latest v109 build. Mac version should work on systems starting from MacOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and up to the latest M1+ chips. With Linux, we targeted for compatibility with Ubuntu, Manjaro, and Arch distributions. This range of supported systems might change though we hope to keep as is.

To access beta builds simply switch the game to the Beta branch in the Steam client.

Since it's a beta release bugs are to be expected - we encourage you to report any issue you come across at our Beta branch subforum.

v109 (Apr 26, 2022)

- fixed an issue with rotating objects (e.g. bridges with levers)
