Demo of the Game is Already Here
Knight of the Lions is currently taking part in Steam's Next Fest, which means you can dive right into a demo of the game! Simply visit the game's page and click the 'Download Demo' button.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to share a bit about my game. Two years ago, I initially conceived it as a coming-of-age story dealing with loss. I wrote the script and began designing levels, but then something happened - the Russo-Ukrainian war began. I reside in Ukraine, and it's safe to say that hardly anyone in this country remains untouched by the effects of this conflict. It didn't take long for me to realize that this war had become all-consuming, making it difficult to focus on anything else. So, I decided to rewrite the script, and my game transformed into something much more personal than I had originally intended.
I've chosen not to mention any specific countries or places within the game. It is being designed with the particular events in mind, but it could just as easily be about any past or future war. In essence, it's not even about war; it's about the emotions tied to losing everything and the journey it takes to regain even a part of the life we often take for granted.
I was born in Mariupol, a seaside city that became world-famous during the initial months of the war. So, the game's main character, Vita, might be from this city as well. However, she could hail from any other coastal city in the world.
I'm not particularly skilled at self-promotion, and the demo I'm sharing might be a bit short or contain some bugs, but I warmly invite you to play it nonetheless. I'm committed to ironing out any issues and making this a compelling and polished experience. After all, this is a deeply personal story, and I'm dedicated to making it the best it can be. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to share them in the comments. While I might not respond directly, I'll address them in the next news announcement. Thank you for your interest in my project!
