Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree News

Hi everyone,

It's been a while so we wanted to let you know what we've been up to!

The team has been very busy working on the game but it's also always growing! So, today we’re excited to announce we’ve been joined by a new team member that will bring their narrative design magic to Mandragora. Please give a warm welcome to our Narrative Lead, the legendary Brian Mitsoda!

With over 20 years of experience working on a variety of games, you may know Brian's work from Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Dead State or Alpha Protocol. We're extremely happy to say he's now joined Primal Game Studio and will be working on the game going forward, bringing his immeasurable talent to the world of Faelduum.

Only a couple of weeks ago, the team were also at Gamescom, where we have been showing an extended look of Mandragora to a few media.



We're also hoping to show you more within the next few months! Stay tuned and make sure to follow us here or wishlist to be kept up to date as we start sharing in-depth looks at some key elements of the gameplay, artstyle, characters, world and story of Mandragora.

We’re so excited to share Mandragora with you and show off what we’ve been working on!

Mandragora will give you a chance to step into an epic, challenging 2.5D side-scroller in a hopeless, painterly dark fantasy universe.

We’re grateful to everyone that has already supported us on social media and we hope you join us on our journey as we work towards release!



In Mandragora, mankind has surrendered the world to the monsters. People hide away behind walls of brick and palisades of ignorance, constructed by their leaders. Joy and delight are coveted jewels, out of reach of the masses. You must journey through a world in decline, slowly falling prey to the damaging effects of Entropy. Fight against vicious enemies, challenge unique, deadly bosses, meet new allies, enemies, and every shade in-between, and make harsh moral choices.



Mandragora will feature:

• A gorgeous universe of harsh moral choices and brutal but challenging real-time combat, accompanied by the atmospheric music of Christos Antoniou from Septicflesh.
  
• A deep interconnected world with a twist, as you enter the dark realm of Entropy.
  
• Classic RPG mechanics to build up your character including a deep and rewarding character development system.
  
• A narrative led Metroidvania-inspired adventure in single player form.
