In this post, we will be discussing updates to the auto-align mode in the building system, following our previous developer update regarding improvements to the overall building experience in the game.

During our most recent small-scale playtest, we identified that the alignment rules for certain building parts were not as fluid as desired. In order to guarantee a smoother building experience as you construct your dream home in Pathless Woods, we made the decision to revisit and optimize the auto-alignment rules once more.

After dedicating considerable time and effort into optimizing a variety of building parts, each with distinct alignment considerations like rotation and orientation, we are proud to announce that this process is now complete! These enhancements aim to empower you to bring your creative visions to life, ultimately elevating the game's playability and ensuring your experiences in Pathless Woods are truly unforgettable.

We are thrilled to announce that, in addition to the building system improvements, we will not only be expanding our furniture range but also introducing new furniture-related features! This will provide you with an even wider array of options to customize and personalize your homes. We are eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions on the types of furniture you would like to see added to the game. Prepare for Insect-Hunting Fun!

We've also been busy revamping the respawn mechanic for various elements, including insects, plants, rocks, and more. Without giving away too much, this redesign will serve as the foundation for our upcoming insect-catching system. We are confident that this new feature will inject added excitement and diversity into your Pathless Woods adventure!

In this post, we would like to share some of our development progress in terms of optimizing the in-game models and improving the tutorial playthrough system!

[h2]Improved Graphics Optimization[/h2]

As you may know, Pathless Woods is a sandbox game with a vast open world with detailed game models & objects. This would require significant computing power to render them in the game world. During the closed beta testing phase, we've also received feedback from some players about lag and decreased frame rates. As a result, we have been optimizing the game to ensure players have the best possible experience. We've thoroughly modified all game models to reduce their graphical processing demands.

Here is one example of the optimization that we've made! Now, objects that are farther away from the player are shown in lower resolution until the player approaches, at which point the models switch to a more detailed, high-resolution version. This way, there wouldn't be too much processing power required for distant objects, and we believe this will make the gameplay experience much smoother.

[h2]Improved Tutorials[/h2]

Next, we've also been working on improving the tutorial systems in the game. Based on feedback from the closed beta testing, the current tutorial island in Pathless Woods is quite complex and has a steep learning curve due to the large amount of tutorial content and branching paths. As such, we have streamlined the tutorials to help players quickly grasp the basic mechanics so that they can dive straight into the world of Pathless Woods! As for the more complex tutorial content, we've decided to move it into the main game, which will allow for an overall smoother gameplay experience!

[h2]Additional Furniture and Building Content[/h2]



Lastly, we're working on adding a ton of traditional Chinese-style elements to the game such as decorations, furniture and building content. We want to make sure that the game feels authentic and immersive. With a wider range of building options, players can fully express their creativity and design structures that truly embody the culture and architecture of ancient China. In addition, we would love to know what type of decorations you'd like to see in the game as well, so feel free to share your suggestions with us in the comments below!

As we continue to develop Pathless Woods, we would like to connect and give you a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Pathless Woods through our dev updates!

In this dev update, we'd like to share with you about what we've been working on recently - optimizing the building construction system.



If you were previously involved in our closed beta, you would have noticed that there were some issues in the original building construction system such as not having a proper auto-align mode and frequent misalignment issues where players could only use the lines on the ground as a reference for building.



With Pathless Woods being a game that allows for extensive building and crafting, it was crucial for us to ensure that each building part type had its own specific alignment rules and designs. As such, we have improved the auto-align mode of the building construction system to ensure a smooth experience for players.



With these improvements, building on uneven terrain and adding tiles to roofs will be easier and more precise, allowing players to express their creativity and build their own world without limits. No more worrying about "shaky hands" ruining your creations!



As we continue on our journey to make the Pathless Woods gaming experience better for everyone, the next steps ahead for us would be focusing on updating the in-game interaction interface and adding new and exciting features. Although we can't reveal all the details just yet, we are confident that the improvements we are making to the interface and character movements will result in a more convenient and immersive experience for players.
