[p]Hey settlers ๐Ÿ‘‹[/p][p]This update is a smaller one, but it brings one long-awaited feature: You can now move animals between barns, homes, and even maps! Perfect for reorganizing your herds or giving that chicken a nicer view. ๐Ÿ“[/p][p]Weโ€™ve also made several UI improvements, fixed bugs, and added quality-of-life tweaks.[/p][p]

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Update โ€“ More Music, Wolves as Pets & Improvements (05.06.2025) ๐Ÿบ

Thank you for the continuous feedback! ๐Ÿฅฐ We reviewed over 70 musicians and could acquire over one hour of fantastic new music from the talented Loรฏc Leclair and Yurii Panivan! This provides much greater variety in the music, even during long sessions. ๐ŸŽถ You can also tame wolves and have them as pets in your homes! Of course, we also fixed various issues and crashes. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Patch Notes:

  • Added over one hour of new music from Loรฏc Leclair and Yurii Panivan
  • Improved the description for energy reserves.
  • Made the color indicator for good values in the plant UI better visible and less gray-ish.
  • Fixed an issue where foxes could not be tamed when they already have a burrow home.
  • You can now tame wolves and have them as pets.
  • Improved the habitat AI when animals are pets.
  • People can now care more for their pets if they feel lonely.
  • You get now a flat 5 people event immigration every spring stacking up to two times.
  • An issue has been fixed where you could not invite people when you had event immigration but the village attractiveness was very low.
  • Increased the temperature range of the Finn torch and the Windcatcher Tower.
  • Slightly buffed the temperature values of the Finn Torch and Windcatcher Tower.
  • The building entry markers are now better visible on snow.
  • The UI will no longer show quick notifications if the QuickNotificationDuration is set to 0.1s or lower in the settings.
  • Sheep's wool can now be collected more quickly.

    Crashes:
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when the user looked at the AI status tooltip while an animal was interacting with another animal that had just died.
  • Fixed a crash when the user changed the workplace priority at the same time a worker quit the job / died.
  • Fixed a rare crash when destroying buildings very quickly.

Thank you for all the feedback! This helped us to see what information is missing and what can be understood in which way. With this patch we added a lot of new information about the different systems in the game, more guidelines, tips and additional wiki entries with examples for common questions weโ€™ve received.
We also implemented many new features requested by our players to make the game even more fun and easier to use. Of course we also fixed issues and crashes reported to us.

๐Ÿ“š New Explanations, Help & UI Improvements:

  • More info for buildings like: Stonemason, Smelter, Gatherers Shack, Farm, Beehive, Barn, and more,

New help views on:
  • How to delete things
  • How pollution & heat work
  • How to get food
  • How the marketplace works
  • Warnings for common marketplace config mistakes
  • Clearer feedback for work-related problems & specializations
  • Improved info on why villagers died, how fields/weirs work, and how to increase efficiency
  • New counter in the construction UI to show how many of a building exist
  • Many small UI fixes and help text additions across the board
๐ŸŒง๏ธ Balance & Gameplay Tweaks:

  • Less flooding in default scenario (less rain, fewer springs)
  • Root Cellar now uses open dairy as source even if stock is low
  • Rebalanced marketplace upgrades and dairy upgrade power
  • Water now washes off dirt in the Lenzburg Castle
  • Improved survival chances of NPC villages in Kerzoven scenarios
  • Fishery can now clean their landing stage
  • Several visual/UI layout adjustments for clarity

Fixed crashes related to:
  • Visual updates during agent removal
  • Cats hunting dead targets
  • Editor water bodies during startup
  • Apprentices removed during job search
  • Rare engine-level multithreading edge cases
  • Dynamic level timers

  • Made critical fields read-only and thread-safe
  • Defensive copies for mesh batching to avoid engine-level crashes
  • World timers are now protected
  • More stability for complex mods interacting with multithreading

  • Added more information about the Stonemason Shop, Smelter, Bloomery, Gatherers Shack, Farm, Forester, Beehive, Barn, Small Cabin and Shrine.
  • Added a new help view to explain how to delete things, how the pollution works, how the heat works, how to get food and how to buy something from the marketplace.
  • Balanced the water in the default scenario: Less rain in the mountains. Less springs on the start map = less floods. Moved water drainage in hills. Reduce winter rain on the start map. Made the AI a little more resistant to extinction.


  • The Root Cellar now also considers the open dairy as a source even if the stock is not that high.
  • Fixed a missing description for the mountain pass.
  • Fixed an issue where the trade change event to solve the tutorial was not triggering correctly if it was set as a text without pressing enter.
  • Improved the weather event data in the default scenario.
  • Tutorial: Saving the done status for fields and trees as well.
  • Improved the help UI.
  • Added warnings to the marketplace trade entry if 'sell over' or 'provide over' is set to 0 and explain what it means in detail.

  • Fixed an issue where the weather events could apply to a different map than the starting map.
  • Kerzoven: Increased gold rewards a bit. Applied to all Kerzoven scenarios.
  • Improved survival chances for NPC villages in the Kerzoven Scenario. Now it should be quite difficult to get them extinct.
  • Balanced the market place upgrades.
  • The water can now wash off the dirt in the Lenzburg castle, keeping it clean.
  • The camera now preserves the zoom level when you follow something and then select the next target to follow.
  • Food crates and material places now more often check if they can be safely removed when they are empty.
  • Added two more entries for the hunters hut.
  • Made the dairy upgrades much, much stronger.

  • Fixed a potential rare crash when the visual update was still going on while an agent was removed.
  • Fixed a rare potential crash when the cat tried to hunt a target that just died in the same moment as it was inspected.
  • Fixed a potential rare crash in the dynamic level timer only curing on very specific systems with lots of interrupts.
  • Fixed a rare issue where the the editor could crash when a water body tried to register at startup in the same time while being replaced with another water body by the user.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could crash when an apprentice was looking for a job and was removed by the user with the editor tools at the exact same time.
  • Modding:
  • Modding: Ensure the world timers are read only.
  • Modding: Added a defensive copy to the mesh array builder to prevent a potential rare crash where the engine released the mesh cache while it was batched.
  • Modding: Made critical fields read-only and added defensive copies in the DynamicObjectBehaviour to ensure it works well with mods editing this area in a multi threaded context.
