Hello witches,

We wanted to give you a little update on the latest with REKA! Things have been quiet recently while we've been working hard on the next chapter of our game, so we thought we'd let you know what to expect!

[h3]Our next big content update will be coming in October[/h3]

Alongside the new content (a little hint for you... it may or may not involve speaking to ghosts!), we will have fixed many of the most reported bugs. We want to thank everyone who has been using the bug report form, this has been amazing at helping us track the issues you've been experiencing.

We'll share more about the October update in a couple weeks (we're just fine-tuning things) and we can't wait to show you what's headed to the woodlands.

Leaves are turning brown, pumpkins are coming back, evenings are getting cozier, the craving for warm drinks has kicked in... Autumn is almost here! To celebrate the most wonderful season of the year, we're running an Autumn Arts competition!

Until November 3rd, you can submit your seasonal artwork! Any medium and style is accepted, whether you've drawn something seasonal, made a crochet mushroom, painted a flower pot, we are eager to see your wonderful creations!

Prizes include REKA goodies for the runner up and an autumnal-themed prize for the winner!

Hello, witches! 🧙‍♀️

Is anyone else super excited for autumn? As much as we've been enjoying the warmer weather, we can't wait for crunchy red and gold leaves and cozy evenings in with candles and pumpkins and lots of good books!

While getting ready for the best season of the year is something we're very passionate about, we're also focused on our next REKA update. Behind the scenes we've been cracking on with all things witchy, and there's still some finishing touches to go before we're ready to launch our next big update, but we did want to share something we've been working on.

[h3]A new workstation is coming to REKA! [/h3]

We know how much you love building your chicken-legged homes (we do too!), and we wanted to make it even more enjoyable for you. So, we've been working on a new workstation!

This workstation will allow you to sell any items you no longer need, and also create blueprints of your favourite pieces, so you can craft multiples of the furniture and decorations that you really love.

This is still a WIP so things may change slightly as we polish and improve, but we just wanted to show you where we're up to with the workstation so far. We'll have more sneak peeks to show soon, and want to say a big thank you for all your patience and support while we work on REKA. We really hope you'll love what we've got planned!

[h3]Dreamy garden inspiration [/h3]

We recently ran a Garden of the Witch competition over on our Discord and we saw some absolutely stunning entries. If anyone needs any ideas on how to spruce up their witchy garden, look no further! A big shout out to our Discord community's endless creativity.

Our Discord is such a wholesome and welcoming place to be, from sharing recipes and book recommendations, to helping players with REKA quests, this is the perfect inclusive community for all things witchy. We also host regular competitions where members can win REKA t-shirts and special themed gifts, so do join us if you'd like to take part!

We're thinking our next competition will have something to do with autumnal arts and crafts... Stay tuned!

Hello, witches! 🧙‍♀️

REKA is part of the amazing Games Forged in Germany Steam event from 24th - 31st July! We're so happy and flattered to be able to share the spotlight over the next week with so many great games made in Germany! While we recommend checking out all of them, we’d like to take a moment and highlight a couple of our personal favourites from our friends.

[h3]Star Birds[/h3]

First up is Star Birds! Toukana Interactive in collaboration with kurzgesagt created a relaxing asteroid base-building and resource management game which will release into Early Access later this year! Discover and mine countless asteroids, create production networks and guide your flock of spacefaring birds to new interstellar horizons. It's an amazing matchup of two amazing German studios so come to expect all the charm of a kurzgesagt video and the captivating gameplay Toukana is known to create. But don’t just trust our word, there is a demo available right now and you can visit them at their booth at Gamescom next month as well!

[h3]Wanderburg[/h3]

Next is WANDERBURG. We love ourselves a good Roguelite and this in particular is currently THE ONE we are looking forward to play! Planned to release in 2026 Randwerk has created a minimalist open-world roguelike in an ecosystem of Castles on Wheels. Consume, grow bigger, upgrade your modules, and survive! Unlock new weapons, build your castle, and discover the procedurally generated map.

If you love the idea of your own moving estate but want something completely different than REKA, you should definitely check out WANDERBURG! And while you still have to wait a bit longer for the release you can sign up for a chance to participate at future playtests! Alternatively WANDERBURG will also be playable at Gamescom next month!

Hello, witches!

Summer solstice has arrived and warmer weather is now in full swing. With bees buzzing and flowers blooming, we wanted to give you a little update on the gardening content and what we're currently working on. ❤️

[h2]The Curious Case of the Little Straw Doll 🌾[/h2]

Firstly, we noticed a few comments about the straw doll not working properly. We've looked into this and believe we have made a fix. This will need a bit more polishing down the line (we will explain below!), but for now it should work as intended.

Thank you SO much for bearing with us through these bugs. We're working as hard as we can to investigate issues as well as focus on new content, so sometimes things do take a little longer than we'd hope.

The Little Straw Doll will work if you place the item into a pot or flower bed and will prevent your crops from rotting/growing any further. One important thing to note, if you want to move the straw doll to a different flower bed, you'll need to store it first. Otherwise, you can move it to a different location but the original flower bed will still be protected from rot. So please store the straw dolls before you move them. (We will work on ironing that out a little later down the line!)



[h2]What's the latest?[/h2]

We've been concentrating on new content and what's coming next to the woodlands. While there's a few more things we need to finalise before we can fully announce what's headed to the witchy world of REKA, we did want to show off these two items we hope you'll love:

[h3]Flower crown [/h3]

We've been working on this flower crown to give you more options when it comes to character customisation. We wanted to stick to the nature themes and give Reka something beautifully autumnal to wear upon their head!



[h3]Candle with a special purpose... [/h3]

This has been really fun to create. You'll be able to use this candle to help spirits pass over to the afterlife. But we'll share more on this a little later!



[h2]Garden of the Witch Competition[/h2]

Over on our official REKA Discord, we're hosting a gardening build competition. The prizes include a REKA t-shirt and a gardening-themed gift, and we're really looking forward to seeing all the entries! We usually always have some sort of competition running on our Discord, from house builds to writing short stories, and even art and cooking themed challenges!




There's a few other reasons to join our wonderful community too:

• An inclusive space to chat with likeminded people about ALL things witchy!
  
• Share tips and tricks about REKA, ask other players for help and share your wisdom.

Hey witches! Thanks to everyone who has been submitting bug reports. We noticed a Leshy bug that was preventing players from progressing in the game, so we've been investigating the cause of this.

We believe we've found the fix for this now, so coming to today's patch:

• Fixed Leshy’s help dialogue being triggered after completing the respective tasks.

If you still experience issues with this, please do let us know!

Note: If you encountered the bug and saved your game afterwards you may still encounter the problem that you can't immediately progress the quest. In this case please regenerate the map via the options menu.
