Warlordocracy Early v22.6

Huge update, doubling all attack delays so that combat lasts longer, allowing the player and AI scripts more time to use items and abilities. Had to make bows faster in the story files and object scripts to accommodate. AI scripts also use healing items more frequently.

Also tweaked a lot of combat, like longer reaction delay after attacking unsuspecting targets so that backstab is more useful. Tooltips now update when the object gets damaged, etc. Chapter 4 boss battles with the various warlords now have improved AI scripts. ​Added a new move to the Dirty Tricks ability, "Shove Away" (pushes target backwards, now 5 moves total).

Also fixed a lot of major bugs, including one where concealment wasn't working properly, and one where attacking unconscious mobiles wouldn't wake them up. More little fixes, and a couple new in-game texts. Finally, made Izaris speak a bit of a fake foreign language.


Complete list of changes:

-All attacks are now half speed.

-Increased attack speed of all bows to adjust.

-Concealment status effect is now more effective.

-Changed aiUseItems.wsl script so healing items are now used more frequently.

-Improved Ch.4 major battle AI scripts with warlords before meeting Jawala.

-Fixed bug with weather effects when changing resolution while playing.

-Fixed bug where unconscious mobiles weren't waking up when attacked.

-Raptors now have a 50% chance to knock back target when attacking.

-Izari mercs now speak a foreign language in dialogue scripts.

-New in-game texts to read: On Golems, Underkingdom Monsters.

-New laughing sounds for imp AI scripts.

Warlordocracy Early v22.5


Made selecting and commanding party members much less annoying. Dragging for multi-selection was messing up single-click selection, and it has now been fixed. Fixed a delay when changing a party member's orders for non-attack commands. Also fixed some other little bugs, like light effects changing position when you dropped an item.

While playtesting Ch.5, I noticed there was an overabundance of arrows dropped by baddies. This is because I forgot to cut baddie ammo in half when they die (party members still drop the normal amount). Brigand already does this, and it has lots of positive reviews that approve of the ammo scarcity.

Climbing now costs Meta, and added new sound effect for climbing footholes. Lots of progress on Ch.5 scripts.

Complete list of changes:

-Greatly improved party member selection (drag select was messing up clicking).
-Fixed delay in changing party members' destination after R-clicking to interact/examine.
-Fixed bug with drop targeting that temporarily changed positions of light effects.

Warlordocracy Early v22.4

Main menu now has number hotkeys, fixed the weapon sprite position in the character info screen, improved AI move command, more low education grammar fuck-ups, and Robel can now repair weapons in Ch.4. Mostly just did lots of work on Ch.5 scripts.

Warlordocracy Early v22.3

Minor patch, mostly just writing Chapter 5 scripts. Here are two screenies of Baskford, the town just north of Jadenbury where you have to build up your forces before the finale.




Complete list of changes:

-Doors in small towns now close when nobody is nearby (not in big cities for performance reasons).
-New optional parameter for "reputation" command to disable messages and sounds (character creation).
-Gaining reputations in character creation no longer shows a notification (much less annoying).
-Updated both manuals, as well as some in-game texts.
-Lots of progress on Ch.5 maps and scripts.

Warlordocracy Early v22.2

All bombs and some bottled substances (like petrol and spirits) now have death scripts and will get ignited in fire effects. Fire will also destroy wooden items and cook food on the ground.

Sebastius now has a small chance to start fleeing if below 20% health. This gets fixed if he gets laid. Added a couple new commands to deal with this.

Slingshots now have +100% aim for balancing purposes because stones are so heavy. Added one to Ch.4 Blinding Coast map.


Complete list of changes:

-Bombs now have death scripts, and they can be ignited by fire effects.
-Fire now also ignites bottles of substances, including spirits, flashdust, etc.
-Sebastius now has 20% chance to flee if below 20% Health without Seb's Lover rep.
-New script Boolean: "if_objNameSuff" to check for final word of name (the suffix).
-New script command: "objUseSelf" to run object's use script (use itself).
-New alt fire and explosion effects that do not affect parent object.
-Slingshots now have +100% aim for game balance (stones are heavy).
-Fixed "objEffNoParent" command (used in bomb die scripts).
