Frenzy VR News

Whilst you're waiting for story mode part 2 to come out, here is a little update that drastically changes the combat with enemies. They now react to hits a lot better and have new ragdoll physics!

In case you missed it, I am releasing a free zombie survival game this week called Frenzy: The Ridden. Make sure to join the discord to find out more information!

Other changes this update include:
-Hitting enemies with metal object sounds a lot better
-Weapon spawners placed in the story mode levels
-Improved grip detection on enemies

Lots of great changes here to make the free play mode more enjoyable and replayable! 10+ new melee weapons which can all now be spawned on any map (aswell as spawning new enemies!)

-New player model
-New testing area map
-New enemy (in the test map)
-Arena map improved
-Enemy spawner added to every free play level
-Weapon spawner added to every free play level
-10+ new melee weapons
-New setting: Enemies ignore you
-Many bug fixes
-All guns have been tested and fixed, with some improvements to the M4 & M16 (charging handle) and the shotgun has a new shooting mechanics (fires 5 bullets)
-Slow mo glitch fixed
-Frenzy mode is infinite in free play mode, with a slower rate of time

FrenzyVR uses OpenXR, the latest standard for VR games. Below is a quick guide to making sure the game runs on your headset with the correct controls.
Screenshots on how to enable OpenXR

-Valve Index / Vive: Launch the game with SteamVR running and everything will work as normal. If the controls don't work, make sure you have the correct OpenXR settings (check the screenshots above)

-Oculus Quest / Rift: Launch the game through Oculus Link or AirLink, and make sure 'Set Oculus as active' has been clicked for the 'OpenXR Runtime' setting. You can find this in the PC Oculus app under settings > general. With this turned on, you can press play and the game will work as normal.


[h3]Other quick tips / information[/h3]

-Make sure to take a look at the settings if you need to adjust things to your own personal preferences. There is a no turn option for people who have stick drift.

-The basement map in story mode acts as a tutorial, so check it out if you want to master your abilities.

-Part 1 of story mode is out, and more of the story will be released throughout this year.

-Some big changes to the extra modes are coming soon, with survival and arena first on the list to be updated!

[h3]Cheats[/h3]
There is a handy set of cheats, which work in both story mode and free play, so go ahead and cause mayhem to your own liking!

-Easy ragdoll mode: If you just want to throw enemies around then this is the option for you. Any time you grab an enemy they will flop into a ragdoll!

-Infinite health: Finding story mode too hard, or just want to mess around without worrying about dying? This is the setting you are looking for.

-Infinite ammo: You don't even need to load a magazine, just fire away!

-Super punch: Currently experimental, but you do massive damage to enemies with your fists.
