Patch Notes 1.1.117p

Howdy cowpokes,

It’s been a little while, but we’re back with a fresh patch. This update includes fixes for some of the most commonly reported bugs and issues.

Here’s a list of all the fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where multiplayer games would get sudden FPS drops if the players were far away from each other - especially when some players were in some of the Westwood caves
  • Fixed an issue where Howard's first treasure map incorrectly showed a white box when viewed. It now displays the correct image
  • Fixed an issue where clients and servers would sometimes disagree about which objects were on fire, resulting in clients seeing the fire effect lingering on various objects
  • Fixed an issue where Yara wouldn't show up on the map after moving back to her camp
  • Fixed an issue where Tumbleville's bulletin board wouldn't show the blue exclamation point when completing ledger tasks for Alice
  • Fixed an issue where harvesting Poppy Seeds would yield carrots
  • Fixed an issue where dying while on fire would sometimes set objects around your spawn point on fire
  • Fixed an issue where Howard's Hideout was called "Missing Translation" on the map
  • Fixed an issue where the Distillery was called "Broken Distillery" when built
  • Fixed an issue where some paths were floating above the ground
  • Fixed an issue where a ladder in Bob's Saloon was placed inside of a wall
  • Fixed an issue where a floating patch of sand near the ranch would overlap with the floors
  • Fixed an issue with some buildings that couldn't be removed at Jacques's Edge
  • Fixed an issue where there was a set of overlapping doors at Jacques's Edge
  • Fixed an issue where you could fall through the ground at Jacques's Edge
  • Fixed an issue where some tree stumps in Westwood couldn't be removed
  • Fixed an issue where you could dismantle the safe in the Lawyer's Office, which would, in some cases, cause the player to get stuck in the intro dialogue
  • Fixed an issue where Yara's island wasn't properly aligned with the building grid
  • Fixed an issue where the ledger task "Free The Patridges" would incorrectly have the title "Free the deer"
  • Fixed an issue where you could keep asking Yara about the caged boars, even after completing the quest where you free them
  • Fixed an issue where building elements on a slope would be hard and frustrating. This should be easier to do properly now
  • Fixes some issues where certain construction elements did not highlight or change color with the construction context



Hotfix 1.0.172p

Hotfix 1.0.172p is now live!
We managed to fix the issue where players would not be able to receive a multiplayer code.

NOTE: In this update you will also have all the fixes and changes made with version 1.0.166p.
Here's the list for 1.0.166p in case you haven't seen it:
[h3]General fixes and adjustments[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where some ammo and weapons would say that their damage type is "Blunt Damage Taken" instead of just "Blunt"
  • Fixed an issue where some non-red painted elements would could as red for some ledger tasks
  • Fixed an issue where Tallulah would be running away from her watering can when you first meet her
  • Fixed an issue where the "Free The Deer"- quest said to talk to Teddy, but it wouldn't progress by doing so
  • Changed the cabin wall model so that there's no longer a beam overlapping with wall-mounted objects
  • Fixed an issue where the hanging garden box couldn't be placed on the tall cabin window
  • Fixed an issue where the pre-existing green saloon walls in Tumbleville couldn't be painted without having to replace them entirely
  • Fixed an issue where some quest steps would not be marked as completed, even though the whole quest is completed
  • Fixed an issue where the water trough didn't highlight when hovered over with the hammer
  • Fixed an issue where the sheriff sign was rotated the wrong way when built
  • Fixed an issue where changing pages in the Quick Item menu sometimes didn't work
  • Crafting and construction recipes with three or fewer ingredients now utilize the available space better
  • Fixed an issue where items equipped with the Quick Items menu would sometimes unequip right as the menu was closed
  • Fixed an issue where some mounted bandits would sometimes zoom around at super-sonic speed
  • Fixed an issue where tint effects on activatable objects and NPCs would sometimes linger around
  • Fixed an issue where Agatha would buy a deprecated cactus stew item
  • Fixed an issue where Juan didn't sell you the recipe for the leather lasso
  • Cleaned up the recipes in the journal, so you should be able to fill it out now
  • Fixed an issue where one step of Howard's Treasure hunt would always be skipped
  • You can now see discovered totem poles on the world map and minimap - existing save files need to rediscover them before they start showing up!
  • Fixed a bug where other players would sometimes just be called "Player" on the world map
  • Fixed an issue where the Hot Tub would appear twice in the construction menu
  • Improved the way animals load in/unload to reduce the chance of them escaping their enclosures.
  • Fixed an issue where you could fall through the world at the Fool's Gold Grotto

[h3]Steam Deck[/h3]
  • Added a Large UI mode for playing on Steam Deck and the big screen
  • Large UI mode is enabled by default when launching the game on Steam Deck
  • When turned on, text and other UI elements are increased in size
  • Long item descriptions in the crafting menu and other places are shown as several pages, which automatically cycle through the text
  • Task requirements and rewards in the ledger are shown using horizontal bars instead of squares to make the text more legible
  • Fixed an issue where the bumper and trigger buttons on Steam Deck were called “LB”, “RB”, “LT” and “RT” rather than “L1”, “R1”, “L2” and “R2”.
  • Improved the on-screen keyboard to make the text on the keys more legible
  • Status effects are now shown in a vertical bar to make the name more legible
  • Fixed an issue where viewing the details of an item in a shop sometimes had the title text overlap the icon

Roll back to 1.0.141p

Howdy cowpokes,

We have identified an issue with the multiplayer feature and have decided to roll back to version 1.0.141p until we manage to get it fixed.

  • You can now buy two new hardwood roof types from Jacques
  • Improved Jacques' ability to walk back to his plot of land
  • You can now buy iron fence and gate from Yong
  • You can now sell all minerals to Sir Lorren
  • Teddy now gives a better introduction to the White Bat and Black Boar quests
  • Improved performance when multiple players are scattered around the map
  • The barn windows now have shutters
  • Improved Aiyana's ability to walk back to Bawk's Peak
  • You can now buy a chair for Annabelle and a rainbow rug
  • Adjusted the color on the Wild Indigo Ranch gate sign
  • Adjusted the amount selection UI for better readability
