Early Access Price and Roadmap

[p]Ten days till launch! 🚀[/p][p][/p][p]Jump Space will be available on 19th of September.[/p][p]Release times: 7AM PT | 10AM ET | 3PM BST | 4PM CEST[/p][p]Game price: $19.99 | £16.75 | €19.50[/p][p][/p][p]Jump Space will not be in the Steam Autumn Sale. [/p][p][/p][p]As development progresses, the price may increase (for example when leaving Early Access). If that happens, we'll let you know in advance. We haven’t set a date for version 1.0 or decided exactly when the price will change.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
Early Access Development Roadmap
[p]This is a work in progress and subject to change. This image is in our Steam page description too.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

What's new since the June Demo?
[p]So for those who tried the June Demo, Jump Space has grown a lot. We've expanded the story, added new missions and goals, and even brought more characters into the Hangar for you to interact with. Here is a brief overview of what you'll play on September 19th:[/p][p] [/p][p]Mission Types: 9[/p][p]Playable sectors: 50+[/p][p]Unlockable Galaxy Regions: 4[/p][p]Ships to Pilot: 2[/p][p]Ship components: 26[/p][p]Player Weapons: 8[/p][p]Ship Enemies: 16[/p][p]Ground Enemies: 11[/p][p][/p][p]We'll be expanding on all of the above during the Early Access.[/p]
 • [p]Mission Types is what the final sector objective is, as a sort of "Finale" to the mission.[/p][p]If you played our demo in June, that had 2 mission types: Salvage and Cargo Ship.[/p][p]So there are 9 mission types for you to play.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]Sectors is what we're calling the playable areas within a mission. They're levels basically. We have 50+ of them so far, compared to the handful that were in the demo.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]Galaxy Regions is each section of the big galaxy map. New content will unlock as you explore new regions of the galaxy, and we hope to add different themes and biomes to make each region more distinct.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]You will start with the Catamaran ship, and work to restore that to full operations.[/p][p]As you complete missions, you may stumble upon a wreck of a 2nd ship.[/p][p]With a little work you'll get to pilot that one as well.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]We have added plenty more ship components compared to the demo, and this is where you can really start building your ship in different ways and upgrade your favorite components.[/p][p]More components will be added and reworked as we update mechanics like the Ship Shields and Scanner.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]We've added one more weapon, the LMG, since the demo. Total player weapons are now 8.[/p][p][/p]
 • [p]Some new enemies have also appeared, and we look forward to introducing more enemy variety in the future.[/p]
[p][/p][p]The Current Content section of the roadmap image will be updated to give a brief, accurate overview of our progress as we release new updates that increases the numbers listed here.[/p][p][/p][p]Not every single new piece of content, bug fix or improvement to a mechanic or level will be featured on the roadmap. That would result in 100+ small boxes. :ggxxacmay:[/p][p]Just so that you're aware that there's more coming inbetween these bigger things worth visualizing.[/p][p][/p]
Chapters
[p][/p][p]Our development journey will be divided up into "Chapters" that stretch over a longer period of time.[/p][p]Chapters will consist of several updates until we've added everything listed in that chapter.[/p][p]Only then do we move on to the next chapter.[/p][p]We've already marked "Text Chat" and "Lobby Browser" in green as "completed" since they have been added to the game and will be available at launch.[/p][p][/p][p]Game development is tricky, and it's hard to accurately estimate when things are completed.[/p][p]Doing Chapters instead of listing many mapped out updates gives us more flexibility, and we avoid disappointing players if a planned update gets delayed a few weeks for example.[/p][p][/p][p]Especially since the roadmap will constantly change based on feedback. Chapter 1 and 2 might look bigger a few months from now, depending on what you all think we should prioritize after playing the Early Access and what resources we have to cram more things in at a faster pace.[/p][p]What the main focus of Chapter 3 is will definitely be up to what players think, so we're leaving that pretty open for now even if we have some long-term ideas.[/p][p]When exactly Early Access ends and we release into 1.0 is still undecided - we shall see what the future holds.[/p][p][/p][p]But the updates will not stop.[/p][p][/p][p]Some items in Chapter 1 and 2 are pretty self-explanatory, or will be expanded upon as they get released in a specific update (Endless Mode for example) but we can briefly talk about some things:[/p][p][/p][p]Sector Modifiers is a system where we can add modifiers to whole missions depending on where they are in the galaxy regions, to make the world feel more alive and challenges more dynamic and interesting.[/p][p]This could be "Increased Legion Activity" where all enemy squads are Elite-class, "Ion Storm" where weather events are more common or Materia costs are increased, or something that causes stronger Artifacts to appear. Stuff like that.[/p][p]We've got some fun ideas for the Modifiers system when we implement it fully.[/p][p][/p][p]The Scanner Revamp will happen as we aren't happy with how little functionality it offers at the moment. There's not a whole lot to do with it at the moment, and it's not as fun as being a Gunner. We have some ideas, like finding hidden caches of materials by scanning a vague anomaly somewhere on the map. Maybe spending time to scan/hack an enemy ship (with a mini-game) gives it one of several debuffs.[/p][p][/p][p]If you have any feedback on the roadmap itself or want something more minor to be listed, please let us know! (Chat with us in Discord pls). Again, our development plan can always change and your most popular requests may sneak themselves into chapters.[/p][p][/p][p]We sincerely hope you will support us through the launch, Early Access, and beyond![/p][p]Wishlist now and join us at launch on September 19th![/p][p][/p][p]Over and out![/p][p]- The Keepsake Crew[/p]
