Hotfix 7 - v0.4.10.105

[p]Hello everybody![/p][p]Thank you all for reporting feedback and issues, it's been incredibly helpful.[/p][p][/p][h2]Important Info - Unity Vulnerability[/h2][p]Unity announced they had identified a vulnerability that affected all Unity games and apps using Unity 2017.1 and later. Some of you have been asking how this affects Jump Space. We have patched in a fix for this vulnerability provided by Unity in this Hotfix 7. Steam has also been updated to mitigate the risks, make sure you're running the latest Steam client. [/p][h2]Bug fixes[/h2]
  • [p]Reduced RAM consumption by a lot, which should help prevent crashes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Esc/Pause menu not showing up from time to time[/p]
[p][/p][h2]Note for Xbox Players[/h2][p]A patch containing the same fixes is on the way, just waiting to get it approved (hopefully today!). Should lead to fewer crashes on Series S and X.[/p][p]Edit: Xbox patch has been released. We're still not done yet with all the fixes there. On Xbox Series S we have also temporarily lowered the texture resolution till we can find more permanent fixes[/p][p][/p][h2][/h2]

  • Fixed issue where ship would get stuck in docking sequence if unable to reach destination
  • Fixed issue where progression wasn’t saved when offline or Steam Cloud unavailable leading to lost progress
  • Fixed a crash in mission startup
  • Updated online multiplayer library (EOS) to latest version
  • Reduced garbage generation and fixed potential memory leaks

[p]Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback! One week after launch, it’s awesome to see Jump Space in your hands. We’re focused on stability fixes and also working on new content.[/p][p][/p]
Next Content Update!
[p]The team is working in two parallel tracks. Part of the team is working on stability and the other part on our next update that brings new content. We’re currently working on:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Hangar vendors: Got too many credits on your hands? Fret not, they’ll take them in exchange for some goods[/p]
  • [p]Melee weapons: No game is complete without a crowbar! Or a wrench! Or a…?[/p]
  • [p]More sectors: More is more![/p]
  • [p]Sector modifiers: They’ll change things up! We’ll talk more about this in coming posts[/p]
[p]We’re aiming to release this content update in a couple of weeks. [/p][p][/p]
What we’ve fixed - and will continue working on
  • [p]Investigating and optimizing memory usage on console and PC. We’re not done and the changes we’re currently testing reduce peak memory and should lower stutters/crashes on a range of hardware.[/p]
  • [p]Progress loss issues: we’ve tightened up the save system, and this will hopefully be resolved in the next hotfix.[/p]
  • [p]We’ve shipped a bunch of quality of life improvements and gameplay related fixes. We’ll continue to monitor and keep on fixing bugs hindering you from progressing in the game[/p]
[p][/p][h2]Online play issues[/h2][p]There was a period of downtime in Epic Online Services that affected many games, including ours. This caused connection problems for some players.[/p][p]To help in the future:[/p]
  • [p]We’re going to add better in-game server status/error messages instead of no notice[/p]
  • [p]We’re going to improve failover systems[/p]
  • [p]And we’re prioritizing offline mode sooner rather than later[/p]
