Wedgie Simulator is FINALLY out of Early Access!

After 3 years of development, the game has finally released! Buy it now and make some magic!



Updates from Alpha Version 9.7:


[h2]Sensitivity Status Message[/h2]



You can now see messages indicating your adjustment of the sensitivity when moving in director mode, or editing an actor.

[h2]Suggestive Mode[/h2]



Nothing major. Just a filter against any content that is too suggestive for some despite it respecting the underwear theme of the game. For now, this only applies to TV media, but it will unlock access to some suggestive content in the playgrounds via a later update.

[h2]Other Updates[/h2]

  • Removed portraits in the Office level and converted them into placeable props.
  • Overhauled the functionality of TV menu system.
  • Added descriptions to the TV menu system.
  • Removed the Viewport switch feature in the TV menu.
  • Camera Assigner array slots should now work properly.
  • Navigation Router array slots should now work properly.
  • Fixed bug breaking the tutorial (The Lights section was not working).
  • Fixed a bug with TV media audio; it now adjusts accordingly based on the effects (or master) volume settings.
  • Removed the 3D viewport feature; it is broken as you could not use the scroll bar, and navigation was broken in 2D mode due to the 3D world projection 'magic' trick. Now it completely uses 2D viewport using screen projection.
  • Removed the laptop; it proved virtually useless since the internet connection is sluggish, too many things break easily, and the hardware cursor loads on its own beyond any control on the dev side for some reason.


Plans For The Future:


We wanted to wait until we completed the mod tools before we released the game, however we discovered in the Unreal Engine EULA that we are strictly restricted to distributing the editor solely on the Epic Game Store. Sadly, it won't be available on Itch or Steam. So we hosted a vote on whether to wait until the mod tools are done (and released on EGS) or just focus on polishing the game and release it ASAP. The people voted for the latter, so here we are.



We wanted to also complete all 5 episodes of Underwear Shenanigans for the TV media, but TBH, it will take months to finish them all (at best), and it is not a very important feature for the game - in fact, it is tertiary, so we will complete them post-release along with the mod tool suite.

Aftermath:




This was a very ambitious game. It honestly was not suppose to happen. We wanted to make a something simpler like a regular sandbox, but creativity and the interest in commercial potential overwhelmed us and as a consequence, we essentially (and inadvertently) made a machinima-focused sandbox game. Anyways, We hope you will enjoy this game. We have also provided a 10% discount for this launch. It will last for 14 days (2 weeks), ending on August 23rd, 2024.

We've hit a snag with Mod Support!

So it turns out we are legally not permitted to release our mod tools for Wedgie Simulator outside of the Epic Games Store as required by the Unreal Engine EULA, which means it may take much longer before we can release the mod tools - we suspect it would take AT BEST this coming Christmas before its ready (if we're lucky), however the game itself is already complete and ready to release.


So we've created a poll for you to vote on to help us decide what to do next for the project.

Vehicle Support for Navigation Router

Earlie, the Navigation Router from the Interactive toolkit only supported navigation for PMs. This is no longer the case. Now it also supports vehicles. If you wanted to make a traffic system with vehicles or just a loop around the Home map, this is now possible.

We have unfortunately removed the Track feature from earlier builds. We tried numerous times to make it work for this game, all to no avail. A lot of our features have changed so much that they rendered the entire feature useless. To make up for this, you can now adjust the roll rotation of your view pawn. Want to make some rolling camera fly-bys? Turn on screenshot mode and start rollin'!

Loving Your Spouse

The Neutral setting feature now has a true purpose - you can make out with your lovely spouse. Just turn on the settings via the game console in your home.

New Underwear Options

You can now apply headwear and eyewear to your mannequins!

There are also new underwear options: Boxer Briefs and Boxers (AKA Bloomers).

You can even rotate your mannequin to properly see all of your changes by using the rotation controls.
Left button rotates clockwise; right button rotates anti-clockwise; top button resets the rotation.

You can also now apply printing textures to your underwear in the Customizer menu! We already have a slew of options available!

Almost Done


From this point onward, the next update will be the first Beta Version update (Version 1.0/Beta Version 1, or BV1). For this update, we will focus exclusively on trying to introduce mod support for the game. We will be honest with you. This is the first time we have ever tried such a feat in UE4. Few game devs have already achieve this but in practically every moddable UE4 game, they all required a modified Unreal Editor. Unreal Editor builds are generally heavy and weigh at least 20+ GB. We don't even think it will fit on this page even when using Butler to upload it, there seems to not be a way to upload a new file separate from the project's name. This is assuming we can even successfully create a customer editor-bundled mod kit. All things considered, we cannot guarantee mod tools may ever arrive for this game.

Worse case scenario, we will just try to polish the game the best we can, then call it a wrap after launch...

  • Wedgie animations are fixed and fully functional, both for same-sex and opposite-sex characters.
  • Storage system now supports organized folder usage (there is now a filter between universal and level-specific sets).
  • Roll rotation of view pawn now possible (to accommodate for the absence of the Track system).

  • Improvements to Danielson Park.
  • Improvements and adjustments to The Office (to accommodate for prop placement).

Known Bugs:
  • Older saved sets have been partially botched as a result of this update. You can correct some of them by loading and re-saving the sets.

  • Due to the new file organization system for movie sets, you will have to manually rearrange your set files to accommodate, otherwise they will be considered universal and you will have to toggle the filter to universal to access them. You can resave them while using the level-specific filter to save them to that level's respective folder. You can also manually rearrange the files via the AppData directory on your Windows OS (or wherever your save data is saved if using a Linux OS).

  • Customizer preset data files have been partially botched due to this update. The fix is relatively easy: just load your character set and update the underwear option to what your mannequin is wearing mesh-wise (or just change the underwear if you wish to do so anyway, such as to try out the new boxer briefs or bloomers). If any of your mannequins is using the Man 4 (Chris) template, you will have to take a screenshot of your character first for reference, than create a new one, rename it the same as your previous iteration, then apply the customization changes to that new template.

Wedgie Simulator Version 0.8.3 'Hotfix' Released!

Version 0.8.3 (AKA Alpha V8.3) has released!

This is honestly less as much of a hotfix than it is an early gift in disguise, so here it is!

Triggers




Yes, you've read right! You can now script your scenes with actions using Triggers! Place a trigger into the viewport via the interactive tool, then switch to the Animator tool and Sequencer subtool, and select that trigger to adjust its settings. You can also loop sequences created within the trigger.

Why So Early?


This was suppose to be a feature for Version 0.9 (Alpha V9), but we understood some of your complaints/concerns that updates to the game were taking too long to arrive and (well, until Alpha V8's release) a few of you were even worried that the project was silently canceled or that we just 'up and left'. So this time, we wanted to try something a little different and more expedient. We have decided to release one of the major features earlier than planned.

Sequencer is getting an Overhaul!

The sequencer has been poorly designed from the start. When we developed the system, we were still improvising on how to best develop the essential features for a movie game. We were unsure if others would even value such a feature. After we tested it thoroughly while making a new episode for Underwear Shorts, we discovered just how underwhelming, unstable, poorly functional, and unreliable it truly was. So we have decided to overhaul the entire feature instead, scrapping the old system. The new Sequencer is not entirely complete yet as we still need to make the other important features to complete it first. See the plans at the end of this article for more info.

Meanwhile, the sequencer currently allows the user to adjust parameters for PMs once they are selected with the Animator tool. This will later apply for other movie objects. In this case, you can adjust what kind of wedgies they give to themselves or others.

PM Wedgie Actions!

As a result of our new sequencer overhaul, you can now use PMs to give wedgies to other PMs. WHile possessing a mannequin via the Interactive tool, use the [Character Ability] key to perform a self-wedgie. To give another PM a wedgie, move towards the PM and press the same key. Their types of wedgies depend on their cinematic settings, accessible by using the Sequencer via the Animator tool, then clicking on a PM.
