When can I sign up for the closed tech test?
Head to the Headbangers Steam store page below and click ‘Request Access’ on Join the Headbangers Closed Tech Test Playtest. You will then receive an email when the playtest is open.

When will the closed tech test sign ups close?
Sign ups will close at 12am BST on 11th September.

When will I hear if I got a space in the closed tech test?
Players will receive an email from the email address linked to their steam account, if they are accepted into the closed tech test.

When will the closed tech test take place?
The closed tech test for Headbangers: Rhythm Royale will run from 4th September at 1pm BST until 11th September at 12am BST.

How many minigames will be available to play in the closed tech test?
11 minigames will be available to play in the closed tech test, which includes:

How many battle pass levels will be available in the closed tech test?
In the closed tech test, 20 levels of our free battle pass will be available to unlock. However, at launch the battle pass will contain 40 levels for players to progress through.

Will there be other chances to play Headbangers: Rhythm Royale before launch on October 31st?
Currently this is the only planned tech test for Headbangers: Rhythm Royale. However, server tests are very important to us. In the future, we may look to do this closed tech test for other consoles. For any updates around this, please follow our social media channels below!

In this minigame, your goal is to memories and then reproduce the coach’s movements. Follow his rhythm and timing, to get the best score! At the beginning of Fitness, the coach will move in one direction. Repeat his action, watch his next movement and repeat again.

[h3]It's a cycle[/h3]
This cycle continues as the round progresses. However, an action turns into actions, as the coach begins to throw in pauses before a second directional movement. Quickly this turns into a third action for each Pigeon-Player to repeat! Keep an eye out for the directions and utilise the sound to accurately time your pigeons movements.

[h3]Copy the coach precisely[/h3]
You will be shown your precision after each set of movements, which appears in a percentage. In the top right corner, your total precision will be shown. Fitness is scored based only by precision, so keep copying the coach to the best of your ability, to progress to the next round.

[h3]One step closer...[/h3]
As this is a second round minigame, you will be in Fitness class of twenty pigeons. That’s a bit overcrowded if you ask me! Don’t worry, by the end of the class ten Pigeons will have been eliminated, with ten moving onto the penultimate round

[h3]Speed up![/h3]
Early into the minigame, the coach will crank up the heat! The tempo of the music will speed up, creating a more difficult challenge. Now the coaches’ movements will become more varied in Fitness. There can be no pauses between the coaches’ switches in direction, making this all about the timing of your movements!

[h3]An awkward coach![/h3]
As it progresses into the final stages of Fitness, the coach will become faster in directional switches, longer in each movement before you repeat them and will throw in some awkward pauses. Your job is to keep up with the coach! Get ready to learn about your agility, as fitness will put all as-peck-ts of your movement skills to the test!

Get ready to to bow your head and curtsy, as in today’s Coo-munity Flock, we flutter our way through to our first final round, in Oui Votre Majesté!

[h3]How To Play[/h3]
Only the loyalist, most devoted Pigeon wins this final round. The aim of Oui Votre Majesté is to replicate the King’s Orders as quickly as possible. Last Pigeon standing wins!

For this minigame, you use four buttons, with each button having a different action. The first few seconds of the minigame are a practice run, allowing you to stretch your Pigeon neck and practise your movements!

[h3]Ready Then?[/h3]
Once you hear 'Ready', watch the King and press the corresponding buttons that match the King’s actions! The time you have to reproduce the King’s actions appear in a timed bar at the top of the screen.

The order of the King’s movements is always varied, so don’t get caught out by repeating one action multiple times or the King’s fast switches in movements!

[h3]One Life Only![/h3]
There is no time limit to this final round minigame, as each Pigeon player has one heart only! One life in Oui Votre Majesté, means if you misclick or select the wrong button, you’ll be eliminated!

[h3]3, 2, 1... Harder![/h3]
As you get further into Oui Votre Majesté, you will hear the King shout Harder! The difficulty of this final mini-game ramps quickly, providing you with a higher tempo audio track and less time between each of the King’s movements.

You’ll likely see more Pigeons being eliminated as a result of this, so stay focused and concentrate only on the King! After you’ve heard ‘Harder’ the speed of the song will keep on increasing for every movement, which can make for a very intense finale to Headbangers!

As our company here is royalty! Be the last Pigeon standing and you will become the Master Headbanger! And who knows? If you win, you might be next in line for the Pigeon throne!

Coo-munity Flock 3 I The Stunt Moles

Are you ready for another Coo-munity Flock? In our previous segments, we have looked at early-round mini-games, which will hopefully set you up for success when we launch Headbangers: Rhythm Royale on October 31st!

Today's Coo-munity Flock, will look at a slightly different mini-game that definitely packs a punch! In this third edition, we will be looking at our third-round mini-game in...

[h2]The Stunt Moles 🔨[/h2]

The Stunt Moles tests several of your skills, in rhythm, memory and reaction time. The goal here is to reproduce the sequences shown by hitting moles in rhythm. Follow the moles pattern and once you hear play, whac-a-mole!

You’ll have four buttons to hit, one for each hole. For each sequence shown, patterns that the moles appear in will change. However, at the beginning of The Stunt Moles you will be given simple patterns to follow. Whack those moles in rhythm to increase your rank!

[h3]How do you score points?[/h3]
Points for The Stunt Moles are determined by how fast you whack each individual target! If you whack a mole with a perfect hit, you will gain two points.

If you are slightly too fast or too late, but still connect with the mole you’ll gain one point, as it was only a slight hit. Make sure you press the correct button as if you miss a mole, you will lose a point.

[h3]Harder![/h3]
As the round progresses, the Pigeons will inform you of a difficult increase. After you see and hear the word Harder, two elements of the minigame will increase.

Firstly, the number of moles in each sequence will increase
Secondly, the speed that moles will appear will increase

This all makes for a pretty incredible penultimate round! You’ll need to get flo-wing, to keep up with these speedy moles!

[h3]Watch Out for Double Points![/h3]
One mole in this minigame will only pop up in specific sequences and can give you double points. The max points you can get from this is 4. You need to be on the lookout for this mole, with funky black glasses on! Double points in The Stunt Moles can seriously boost your rank!

[h3]How many players make it to the final round?[/h3]
In The Stunt Moles, you’ll compete against 10 Pigeon Players, as The Stunt Moles is a third-round minigame. However, only the top 5 Pigeons will qualify for the fourth and final round!

For The Stunt Moles, this tip is all about memory! As listen appears, follow the sequence by pressing corresponding buttons to the moles. This could make it easier to repeat when it’s your turn to play!

But I wouldn’t try follow-wing in their footsteps, as you must remember that these Moles are professional pigeons!

In case you've missed our previous segments, our Coo-munity Flock's breakdown specific gameplay elements of Headbangers and soar into never seen before features! Ready for another gameplay breakdown? In Coo-munity Flock 2, we will be diving into our second round minigame, First Piano Shooter!

[h3]How to play:[/h3]
Are you a piano player? Or maybe an FPS fan? Or maybe both? Well First Piano Shooter is just for you! It’s all about accuracy in this minigame. Your objective is to reproduce all the melodies as quickly as possible to move onto the next round. First Piano Shooter tests your memory, speed, and ability to fire a slingshot.
[h3]Want to hang at the top of the leaderboard?[/h3]
Make sure to follow all the green keys whilst listening to all the notes in the sequence. Once you hear ‘Play’, get ready to copy the melody you just heard! Hitting a correct key, will turn it green.

[h3]It gets trickier as it goes![/h3]
As the round progresses, patterns will increase from 1-2 keys to 3-4 keys in one melody. Use that birdbrain to hit all the keys! Have you ever seen a pianos key flutter away from you? Well now you have! In the last moments of the round, keys will separate in varied ways, making this minigame a little trickier. This can occur with individual keys or with multiple keys, splitting into two groups or at times, even three groups. Don’t let this throw you off Flock!

[h3]How do you score points?[/h3]
In First Piano Shooter, your score is measured by how many keys you hit overall, with one point gained for each successful hit. However, completing a full melody will gain you a bonus point. This will appear in green. You could say that memorising all keys successfully is the key to success!

[h3]Which round is First Piano Shooter?[/h3]
First Piano Shooter is a second-round mini-game. In this one, you will compete against twenty Pigeon-Players. Ten players will progress to the next round, with ten being eliminated. First Piano Shooter is a timed mini-game, with seventy second on the clock. Complete as many melodies as possible in seventy seconds to progress to the next round.
