Hello pilots and commanders!
As mentioned in the last post, we are currently working on a
major content update for Space Reign which should be coming out in two months.
Let's take a look at some our progress so far.
New Faction
It's time to welcome a dangerous new player to the game - TyrCorp. A highly militaristic corporation with ambitious expansion goals, TyrCorp has access to huge stockpile of weapons in their arsenal and a plenty of battle-hardened ships in their fleet. While not equipped with cutting-edge technology, its experience as a private military contractor and large number of available assets is a force to be reckoned with.
The Pirates of the Marshall Gang are no match for the TyrCorp's war machine, so you will have adjust your combat strategy accordingly.
Oh, and you will be able to get your hands on their ships and weapons as well!
New Ships
A new Factions requires new ships and weapons, so these are some of the upcoming additions:

New Weapons
To expand the in-game arsenal, the update will include additional weapon types, especially for the large ship load-outs. These will include turrets, such as:
Rapid-Fire cannon, Flak Battery, High-Explosive cannon, Light Railgun and more!
Fixed weapons for the small ships will also get some love in the form of more weapon variety including
S1 Coilgun, Scattergun and 2 more variants of repeaters and gatlings:

Besides adding these new weapons, we are also in the process of additional balancing and making some changes to the ones already in the game - mainly heavy weapons for the frigates.
In the preparation for the destroyer-class ships, we have to better distribute the firepower potential and weapon types so that the individual ship classes can better complement each other on the battlefield.
