Hey survivors here is a small hotfix to correct some issues and to help us protect our PVE Server players with new log files.

Server Owners will need to restart to pull the new server files.

  • Fix for dog not attacking with vest
  • Fix for dog vest inventory disappearing
  • Fix build mode cursor staying hidden
  • New server logs to help us track who access containers they don't own and lock picking logs to help us catch players playing unfairly in PVE

Our next update patch is here! We are calling out our awesome players and community on this one as we’ve tried to focus on fixes and improvements logged by our Survivors. One of the stand out things in this update are the changes to the build menu and system. You now have freedom to place buildables and the UI has been cleaned up. Additionally, we have implemented more features to aid us in the detection of people abusing systems and cheating on Official Servers. We still encourage using the Official Discord to report any unsavoury behaviour. Furthermore, we focused on some major multiplayer issues as listed below, which will greatly improve everyone's experience and lots of quality of life improvements. We thank our fantastic community for taking the time to report these issues in order to give you all a more enjoyable game.

Localization update: There is a new update for our French and Russian players as we have rolled out Phase One of the translation overhaul. Please join our Official Discord to give us feedback on these changes and we’ll look to have them fully completed by the end of the year. Italian translation is almost ready to be added, so that will be the first NEW language added to HumanitZ! Again, massive shout out to the community for taking on this responsibility for their regional communities!

Server update: No wipe required, but all servers will need to be restarted to receive the latest patch

New Additions
  • New building items (metal shelf, wooden table and wooden stool)
  • New vehicle headlights for better illumination
  • Ability to extinguish campfire/stove (Hold interact when lit)
  • Added dropped items cleanup option in game settings for single/hosted player (OFF by default)
  • New broken lootable RV added


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed clients getting stuck in broken animation, this should greatly improve the experience playing on dedicated servers or joining a friend’s hosted game
  • Fixed dropped and placed items not decaying
  • Fixed House and Building pickup items not respawning
  • Fixed fishing rod causing stuck status when placing inside a container
  • Fixed placing items would trigger attacks
  • Fixed airdrop map icon duplication issue
  • Fixed airdrop AI replication issue
  • Fixed Bobby’s RV questline
  • Fixed Great Scott quest (Doc no longer acts like a dumb nut, Tallowate)
  • Fixed walk toggle being disabled when performing certain actions
  • Fixed player falling through map when consuming something inside a car
  • Fixed certain items not being dismantlable (sp) when highlighted
  • Fixed zombigini smoke location
  • Fixed cabbage soup stacking issue
  • Fixed unable to dig grave when a second shovel is in your backpack

  • Fixed player death crate to account for Deep Pockets skill
  • Fixed auto shotgun spread instead of using slug rounds

  • Fixed car lights not showing for clients in servers
  • Fixed weapon attachment duplication glitch
  • Fixed water barrels not being destructible
  • Fixed structure repair UI to properly show materials needed (UI display only prompts after enough damage has been dealt)
  • Fixed AI and built campfires to properly extinguish during inclement weather
  • Fixed AI and built campfires to not extinguish when built under overhangs
  • Fixed weapon attachments disappearing when transferring to a storage container
  • Fixed consuming one canned good from stack producing 1 empty can and deleting remaining stack


Changes/Improvements
  • Build mode allows free placing of items (this means you can move things around in front of you to have more control in how you place your build items)
  • Build mode UI adjusted to allow better viewing when placing blueprints
  • Can now sprint from a crouched position
  • Food decay timers readjusted
  • Adjusted bunker entrance to avoid spawning on top of each other and getting stuck
  • Multiple graphical improvements
  • Improvements to reloading system to be more reliable and account for in the UI
  • Removed lower tier loot from air drops
  • Medkit is now multi use item (similar to how the sewing kit works)
  • Improvement made to driving camera to see slightly further
  • Improvements to the main map design
  • New houses added
  • Keycard bunker access now allows multiple players
  • Removed Halloween event decor
  • Buildable weapon crate now has 10 slots
  • Scythe added to farm loot table
  • Updated items that can make rags (sports jackets and The Bandera)
  • Golf club attack speed increased slightly
  • Pitchfork durability increased
  • Hammer durability increased
  • Improvements to auto shotgun reloading animation/sound
  • Improvements to APC handling :)
  • Improvements to vehicle wing mirror reflections
  • Minor zombie spawning improvements
  • Increased warmth value for heat pack
  • Opening inventory or pie menu will close chat console
  • Improvements to weather system transitions
  • Added death SFX for players

Bunkers & Jumpers Update

Spooky season is finally upon us and we are back with another BIG update, adding some Halloween event flavour! In the 0.913 patch notes, you'll not only see Halloween-themed content, but a big list of changes and new features added to the game.

While the game evolves, some things get shifted in priority -almost daily. Rather than add new quests and extending the localization timeframe, we opted to focus primarily on the localization up to and including this update. New quests will be added in the coming weeks separate from this update, fully translated, rather than adding in untranslated new quests today.

Server Info: All official servers will be wiped and it’s recommended all server owners to do the same in order to get the best experience from this update.

Steam Deck: Further improvements have been made with controller support, bugs and general functionality and more optimization allowing use of HumanitZ on the steam deck. We will be pushing for full compatibility as soon as we finish more optimization and UI sizing.

The hurdles we are facing right now are depending on what settings you're playing on. The device can become warm and in certain high density areas, there are still minor lag spikes, and in some cases, shutting down the device. We are moving closer to our goal of being fully supported and we plan to complete this before the end of the year.


Localization: There has been a complete overhaul for Chinese localization! This has been completed with help from our publishers, so our Chinese community can now enjoy the game with a brand new and improved localization update.

Other languages are still ongoing with amazing help from our awesome community. It is a big undertaking, so if you would like to help us get there, please reach out in the Official HumanitZ Discord. We would gladly accept extra help in our mission to translate the game completely. We are also now getting external help to speed up this process. The addition of the Italian language coming soon to HumanitZ!

  • Drivers and Passengers can now access their inventory while inside a vehicle
  • Scarecrow added that might drop some cool loot during the halloween event (Keep an eye out for them around the map)
  • New dog inventory system added (requires dog vest and interaction, dog must be told to sit to equip vest)
  • New Minable Salt rock resource. (Chemistry station can be used to craft usable salt)
  • New red and black bandana added
  • New camera position settings (default, close and centered)
  • New craftable improvised fishing rod added
  • Stones…stones everywhere…
  • Change to how much the camera tilts so you can see a little further in front
  • Big inventory change allowing items to be placed in the world (For all you decor base players out there)
  • Zeek Dogs can now jump through windows (We are so, so sorry about this!)
  • MRE’s now act as a sealed item until opened (Same as how sealed cans work)
  • Slight increase in damage of the AWM (Giving the 50 cal round a better feel)
  • Minor change to speed in which hunger and thirst reduces (slightly slower than before)
  • During the Halloween event, night time will be a little more threatening. Please give us your feedback on this change (keep or pass)
  • Items that you can craft on your person were removed from Workbench crafting
  • Player torch (flashlight) now lasts longer to help with the scary darker nighttime
  • Gun sound attenuation increased
  • Distance in which zeeks hear gunshots has been increased
  • Player equipment added to the save preview screen in the main menu
  • Battery durability increased when installed at the radio tower
  • Gas mask filter reduces faster now and reduce twice as fast inside toxic zone
  • New main menu music for the season
  • Removed “Craft Weapons Bench” from Challenges list
  • Removed hard-coded keys not allowing full keybinding
  • Removed funnel requirement text from Empty Fuel Can
  • Canned food now has a new opened icon when you open a sealed can for better visual representation
  • Scythe animation improvements
  • Ashtrays in houses added to dismantle list
  • Fixed collision issues at the large scrap yard near Huddson City
  • Fixed collision issues with small store windows
  • Lots of general map fixes (which were logged from our great community)

  • Fixed glitching into other players’ cars when parking next to it and exiting

  • Fixed Tutorial House windows to prevent accessing outside the tutorial area

  • Fixed bullet drop issues and long distance shooting improvements
  • Fixed respawn points of offline players not preventing zeek/enemy AI spawning when other players are within proximity
  • Fixed using unstuck functions to force clip through structures
  • Fixed Knob’s honey jar quest giving unlimited XP
  • Fixed tomato and cabbage eating animation to not be a carrot
  • Fixed mining node regeneration exploit
  • Fixed dismantled house assets returning upon logging back in/returning to base
  • Fixed not being able to climb with torch in hand
  • Fixed battery status UI issue
  • Fixed falling through the map when loading in after saving/exiting in a 2nd story building
  • Fixed weapon attachments being recognized as installed when loading the game
