- CHAPTER #35 - FOOD, WINE, AND POTIONS

With the fantastic suggestions from HB&P player DazaKiwi, I had no choice but to incorporate them into the game. These new improvements suggested by DazaKiwi, include being able to use Healing Potions or Wineskin before adding them to your inventory if it is already full (so you don't lose a slot or item in your inventory), or make use of Potions, Wineskin or Food at the moment you replace them with another newly obtained item.

Thanks again, DazaKiwi.

In addition, I have included a couple of other improvements to the inventory that offer more information to the player (especially when adding new items to the inventory when it is full).

Here you have the complete changelog of version 1.31:
Changelog v1.31
IMPROVEMENTS

- If you get a potion or a wineskin and your inventory is full, you can click on that potion or wineskin to make use of it without having to add it to your inventory beforehand. (DazaKiwi)
- If your inventory is full, when replacing an item in your inventory with a newly acquired item, if the item in your inventory was food, wikeskin or a healing potion, that item is consumed allowing you to recover lost HP before being replaced by the new item. (DazaKiwi)
- When the inventory is full and you get a new item, you can mouse over this new item before adding it to the inventory to see its name, description, damage, or weapon ability if it has one.
- If no spell is selected for the combat, on the inventory page when hovering the mouse over the 'Spell selected for combat' box, the player is now told that no spell is selected.

ADDED

- Added player DazaKiwi to the thank you credits.
- Added a new weapon: +3 Staff.
- Enemies of level 'Strong' can now also drop Healing Potions as loot after defeating them.
- Added a new option when leaving the cannibal territory if you have faced them: 'Search among the bones'. ('The Dark Rock' story')
- Added a small description of the Lightning spell indicating that the use of this spell in events is infrequent.

CHANGES

- The description of consumable items such as healing potion, food or wineskin has been modified to indicate that these items can be consumed before adding them to your inventory or replacing them with another item.
- The color of the 'No Spell' icon border has been changed from light blue to red, to indicate that it is placed in the spell slot selected for combat and because it harmonizes better with the game tones.

BUGFIXES

- Flickering of the text indicating how to replace items when you get a new item and your inventory is full has been avoided.
- A dice sound has been added when failing a dice roll when searching for a boat at the pier in the story 'The End of the Times'. (This sound was missing) (page 285)
- Corrected a shadow in the bear image.
- Fixed the formatting of a text that appeared in one of the options on page 140.

- CHAPTER #34 - THE SPELL AND THE FLAIL

Changelog 1.30

IMPROVEMENTS

- Spells that are usable in combat now have a red box around their image. Those spells that are exclusive for events will have a light blue box, to differentiate them from combat spells.
- When you are replacing one item in your inventory with another, mousing over the items in your inventory no longer removes the text explaining how the replacement works.
- When entering the Achieved Ends page and returning to the adventure selection page (or when returning from the options panel), it now does not delete the description text of the selected adventure nor does it delete its image.
- Revised the spells that can be obtained in Wizards' Towers and Scholars' Guilds for a little more variety of spells.
- Players can now exit the Achieved Ends page by pressing the ESC key.
- Improved images of Healing and High Healing spells.

ADDED

- Added new spell: Bless Weapon. It is a Priest's initial spell, and the rest of the characters can acquire it in Wizard Towers, High Temples or Scholars' Guilds. This new spell is only available to characters with a medium WIS value, when learning a new spell in these Towers or when delivering a magic scroll, or in the High Temples when a Strange Idol is delivered.
- Added new possible enemy: Lion. This enemy can be found wandering in the vicinity of the Sobara desert or in the fighting pits of Turania.
- A code has been added to avoid possible bugs that could occur in the Wizards Towers and Scholars Guilds.
- An image of a plague of rats that may appear on some pages has been added (the image is purely cosmetic).

CHANGES

- The Priest class increases its Strength by 1 and reduces its Intelligence by 1. This balance has been made to slightly increase the Priest's chance of hitting when using Hammers, Maces or Flails. (Only valid for the creation of new characters, not for previously saved characters).
- Changed the initial Priest spell from 'Lightspell' to 'Bless Weapon'.
- The necromancer's initial weapon, 'Bone Spear', has reduced its damage from 2 to 1, but has increased its chance to hit the enemy from -3 to +0.
- Wizard Towers can now grant the 'Sleep Song spell' to those characters who deliver a magic scroll to the Tower and their WIS value is lower than 10.
- Fights in the Turania fighting pit can now also be against Lions.
- If you attack the knight of the order of Nadeau in the story 'The Funeral March', and you are still accompanied by the Paladin, he will leave your company immediately. The same happens if you choose to assassinate Sir Renaud in the same story.
- If the player has a Priest as a character, he/she cannot refuse to rescue the prisoner from the catacombs of Narland ('The lost City' Story).
- Changed the color of the 'horse icon box' to differentiate it from spells.
- Changed the image of the Magic Cloak.
- Changed the image of the Bear.
- Changed the sound of coins when earning gold by playing cards in the inns to differentiate it from the sound of buying/selling.
- Removed the waiting time for page change that occurred when the rogue character opened the Crowburg stables with a lockpick in the story 'The Funeral March' (page 183) . This could cause the player to press another option during that time and the game would get confused when interpreting two different actions.
- A sentence on page 180, which did not read well in English, has been modified.
- Slightly aligned The End label on the character death page.
- Some texts have been slightly modified.

BUGFIXES

- When defeating the Shadow Guild member upon reaching the Impassable Mountains (in the story 'The Ring of King Agmar'), a bug could occur that blocked the player's progress if the player entered and exited the inventory page at that time. There was a redirection error to the correct page that has been fixed.
- When entering the Crowburg Tavern in 'The Funeral March' storyline the game was generating the image of an outdoor inn when it should be generating a town inn.
- Fixed a bug where inspecting a magic ring in the wizard's tower or in the scholar's guild in a particular quest would prevent the player from leaving that page.
- Fixed a small bug where entering the inventory from the 'inspect magic rings' page, when returning, would repeat the text of what spell you wanted to bind to the ring when it may have already been bound.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes occurred on page 195 ('The Ring of King Agmar'), where the image of our character could be changed by another character during the rest of the adventure.
- Corrected a spelling error on page 116.
- A small error in the repetition of a word has been corrected on page 178.
- Fixed some text formatting on page 21.

- CHAPTER #33 - BIRD OF GOOD OMEN

A couple of days ago I received good suggestions and feedback from a HB&P player: DazaKiwi.

Thanks to his ideas, the game has received a lot of improvements. One of them is to be able to create a new character in the middle of a game, keeping the progress of the adventures and the endings achieved.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, DazaKiwi.

Here is the complete changelog v1.25:

IMPROVEMENTS
- The 'New Game' button, in the options page, now also allows the possibility to create a new level 1 character without initial items, but keeping the progress of the quests obtained. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- The 'New Game' button now better explains and warns about the consequences of starting a new game or creating a new character from the options page. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- The Character Hit Points indicator on the main page now also indicates the character's maximum Hit Points. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- When hovering the mouse over the equipped armor from the inventory page, the name of the armor and its value are now displayed (although this value was already displayed next to the armor, it is now also displayed on the left side of the page as well as the weapons).
- Some minor additional improvements.

ADDED
- Added two new images of devastated steppe to the game.
- New phrases for the Prophet of Doom in the story 'The Barbarian'.
- An image of 'vapors' has been added to the corridor of the Serpent Tower in the story 'The Barbarian'.

CHANGES
- The location and distribution, as well as the format of the Hit Points, Gold, and Experience points indicators in the game panel have been slightly modified to accommodate and display in a more comfortable way the new implementation of the character's Maximum Hit Points.
- Devastated steppe locations are now generated when the player travels through Kali's territories in the 'Song of Kings & Wars' storyline. (Because the game could generate green and fertile landscapes in that adventure, in that particular land, that have little to do with Turania).
- A few texts have been modified.

BUGFIXES
- Fixed a bug where when loading several different games, when entering the inventory some objects could indicate that they caused a certain amount of damage. By hovering the mouse over that particular object, it is automatically corrected.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the player to press the main menu option buttons before they appear when starting a new game (Credit DazaKiwi).
- The formatting of some texts has been revised.
- A spelling error has been corrected on page 150 'The military camp' (Song of kings & wars' story).

- CHAPTER #32 - THE EYE OF THE EVIL GOD

This patch includes a number of minor corrections and a new weapon that can be found in some chests (+2 Bow).

Changelog v1.21
- Added new weapon: +2 Bow.
- Chests found in castle cellars can now contain +2 Bow (if you know how to open them).
- An option has been added to return to the entrance of Castle Black in the story 'The Labyrinth', when a player enters it.
- Shooting with the bow from the castle tower at the hordes of undead now awards experience points ('The End of the Times' story).
- Trying to buy fish (or kraken meat) at the port in the 'Song of Kings & Wars' story, now does not remove the option if you have no gold or if your inventory is full.
- In the room of the inn, in the story 'The Lost City', sometimes a harp could be found. That object is no longer possible to find, instead you will find 'A strange idol'.
- Slightly changed a few texts.
- Fixed some minor bugs.

- CHAPTER #31 - THE HAVEN

This update includes quality improvements to the game that were requested by some HB&P players.

It is now possible to leave an ongoing quest to return to the story selection page (in free mode).
It is also possible to restart a campaign that is being played.
And an autosave enhancement has been included for free mode that saves your game each time you successfully complete a quest. (The autosave is done after the level up page, before displaying the story selection page).

Changelog 1.2:

IMPROVEMENTS
- A button has been added in Options that allows you to leave the current quest and return to the quest selection page (all progress is saved and the items and experience points gained so far remain).
- A button has been added in Options that allows you to restart a Campaign.
- Each time an adventure is successfully completed, the game now automatically saves the game in a file called 'Autosave'. (Autosave is performed on the adventure selection page. Only in free mode. Not available in campaign).
- When the inventory is full and the player obtains a new item, to exit the inventory just press the 'Back' button. But if the players wanted to exit the inventory using the Inventory button (backpack icon), or by pressing the letter I, they had to press it twice. Now pressing the Inventory button once, or pressing the 'I' key allows the player to exit the inventory.

CHANGES
- Rearranged Options buttons.
- The option button that allows you to return to the book has been darkened to differentiate it from the other option buttons.

BUGFIXES
- Fixed a bug that did not show the correct text at the end of the quest 'Song of kings & Wars' if King Arlon was rescued, but the quest had already been played previously and other different endings had been obtained.
- Fixed a very rare bug that sometimes when loading several different games, if the game was saved on a page where the image of our character was not displayed, it could acquire the image of another character from a previously saved game.
- Fixed a very rare bug when returning from the Wizard's Tower in the story 'The Dark Rock', if the player returned to the Raknakis camp and by chance the option to go to the South path was active, when going to the path did not appear options to continue.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed to receive the bonus of some spells and amulet items, when they were not finally acquired, by pressing the I key in the inventory or by double-clicking on the icon of the backpack.
